there was a post I made once where I paraphrased merrill saying that if anders survived the joining then carver would be fine as anders had, if I recall, "the approximate constitution of wet tissue paper"

and someone, too long ago for me to still be this petty about it, added some tags to the tune of, that is rich coming from merrill, who has a similar small baby constitution

isn't it wild that warden-commander invoked the right of conscription on anders with direct permission of the queen/king of ferelden and templars still didn't leave him be. isn't it wild that some of them were willing to drink darkspawn blood and bound themselves to another order just to get to him even though he was proven to be under warden-commander's protection. isn't it wild that the wardens had always been a golden ticket for mages who tried to get away from the circle and it was working perfectly fine for everyone else and then in his case it just didn't

I know why the writers chose to prioritize Isabela over Aveline and Merrill over Fenris when it comes to the temptations in Night Terrors, but I understand the characters better and I think it should be the opposite. Aveline gets tempted over Isabela and Merrill stays her ground against a demon longer than Fenris
