AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Religion and beliefs are sensitive topics, and often spark debate between individuals who clash in their faith. More often than not, disagreements between people end friendships. This stems from the lack of understanding of people of religion, and the stigma that has been created through the years, stereotyping each religion with a profile that is often severely wrong. The Philippines, for one, has only two more widespread religions. This makes the population uninformed of the different cultures and practices of other religions, which leads to mis-information most of the times. What we need is a method to understand each other more clearly.
Interfaith dialogues are modes of cooperative and positive interaction of people of different faith. This helps us understand each other more. The Episcopal Commission for Interreligious Dialogue is an interfaith dialogue meeting created by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines in 1990. The interreligious meeting serves as a response to the call of the Second Vatican Council for the Church to work with 'moderate elements' for peace, justice and harmony. This helps in creating a safer environment wherein people of different faiths understand each other, and slowly creates a peaceful Earth where all people of different faiths and color can live harmoniously.

Religion is the belief in and worship of God or gods. It has played a big part in different cultures and societies. It is something that people around the world practice.
This semester, we had the opportunity to learn and discuss about different religions. Different religions differ from one another. From their culture and beliefs, up to their traditions and ideals. Religion teaches us sets of practices such as being kind to others, telling the truth, not giving in to temptations, and a lot more. It gives us a better understanding about what a certain particular religion is all about. The stereotypes disappear from our minds as we get to discover more about religion. The discussions about Islam, Christianity, Shintoism and Dharmic Religions really helped us to learn more about their cultures and beliefs. It is fascinating to talk about different practices because we got to acquire knowledge on some of their similarities and also their dissimilarity. The practice of religion is good for individuals, families, states, and the nation. It improves health, learning, economic well-being, self-control, self-esteem, and empathy. Religion also helps in building values such as love, empathy, respect and harmony. It gives people the sense of belonging and gives support to people. It encourages people to live a healthy lifestyle and gives meaning to one’s purpose in life.
Overall, I think studying about these different religions is really beneficial to everyone. It gave me and my classmates a better understanding and we were able to respect each others different point of views towards religion.
