WK1 Project: My Full Sail Story Expanded

Before I began my journey through Full Sail university, I used to attend a different school and was pursuing a degree in illustration. 

Things had started rather well at this old school, I had good grades, and was even improving at my art.

At the time my heart was set on writing a comic book series, but I soon realized that I didn’t fully feel that it really reflected my love of storytelling.

 While comics and drawing could capture what I envisioned, I had wanted to really see them really move, and to show more emotion than a still image alone.

I looked into other ways I could share the stories I wanted to tell, and the one art that stood out to me the most was film making.

I was even in a film making group, originally for acting, but began to take an interest in the camera work as well. 

I found myself observing things like the cinematography, the scriptwriting process, how directing it works, and even the editing process of making a movie.

It was because of this realization I began to consider switching degree programs at this school, however, due to personal reason things fell through with the old school, so I began the search for a new school. 

That situation actually had put me in a bit of a creative block as well, and wasn’t feeling inspired to do much of anything.

I did struggle for a while looking for a new school as none of them never quite fully seemed to fulfill exactly what I wanted in an education, and I was worried that it wouldn’t help me out of creative block.

I then found Full Sail University, who sponsored a YouTube channel I frequently watched called SpaceHamster.

I decided to look in to this school a bit more as the stuff he advertised seemed rather interesting, though it was for making games. 

I requested some info and to my surprise they called pretty much immediately after I entered the info they needed.

The person on the phone kindly explained the school, the digital cinematography degree, and answered any questions I had for them. 

I knew finally that this was the place that could really help me fulfill my passion for film making, and maybe even help me make a career of it.

Ever since that day I have been attending this school, improving my skills, and getting that passion for creativity and storytelling back.
