obviously you shouldn’t spend the rent money on liquor but most poor people don’t make enough to make ends meets. I made just over ten grand last year. there’s no way I could adjust my spending to turn that into savings. I scraped by, I meant I scraped by. and that’s 10 grand without dependants. some people are supporting children on that budget or less. and the whole “get a side hustle” is also worthless advice. not all businesses are profitable. I’m not saying that don’t start a business if that’s what tou want for yourself but if you think it’s as simple as “you can draw, become a graphic designer” you’ve clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. the whole “just get a side hustle” shtick is the reason why pyramid schemes are thriving because stupid people on social media think that big money is easy to come by and not the result of hard work and dedication to your craft. I’ve worked two jobs before. it’s not easy and it’s not good for your health. the best financial advice for poor people would be to unionize their workplaces, get a trained in a so called skilled labor (all labor is skilled labor but I mean construction or medical fields) amd make sure it’s from an accredited college. understand that captialism makes social mobility impossible and it’s not the result of a lack of hard work. and vote. don’t listen to a brain dead rich/middle class person telling you to eat canned beans and not go to the movies
