So as a preface: I'm looking at this in terms of someone in a similar predicament to Adrien, someone who is unsure about themselves and who they are and what their place in the world is

This is in terms of development, specifically a teenager. One who is still learning and growing. There's this misconception that teens are supposed to have themselves and their lives figured out, but the reality is that they are still fresh and new, just baby curdles in development

who doesn't know it can become something other than camembert.

Similar to the above, when a person is feeling stuck and like they should know their place in the world, it makes them feel like this is it and that the person who they are now is all they will be. Now in this case, Plagg calls Adrien "camembert" (aka his favorite which is like omg the sweetest thing from Plagg aahhh), as a hint to us that Adrien is already the perfect Chat Noir (of course), but this is still Plagg's plan.

But if we want we can also make it applicable to someone who wants to be someone different, who wants to change but doesn't think they can. (Side Note: I see this kind of think a lot with depressed kiddos; they've been depressed for so long that the thought of not being depressed is frightening and seems impossible)

But if you think a lot about it,

But if you allow yourself to believe that you can change and become someone new,

if you age the rind,

If you let yourself grow and change,

and choose the appropriate ferments,

And you let yourself try new things and experience the world, break out of the comfort of same old same old,

you can be the cheese you want to be!

And this is self-explanatory: you have the ability to be the person you want to be.

I think especially for those with depression or anxiety, or really any mental health issue, there's this idea that you are trapped and can't change. That everyday is the same and that this is going to be forever. But Plagg's metaphor, while being hilarious, was a lesson to all of us that we can make a change and be the person we want to be.

Broken Promises

Summary: Oof, angst

“Luz, stay away!” Amity frantically implored, clawing at her shirt as if it were her life line. Her legs continued backing her up, subconsciously taking her away from the one person she didn’t want to hurt.

“Amity, no - it’s my fault you’re like this, please, please let me fix it!” Luz insisted and kept taking steps toward the witch, ignoring the static in the air, ignoring the pain in her body, ignoring the screaming of her limbs.

“Luz-” Amity released a strangled sob as her back came into contact with a corner, “Don’t.”

“Let me help you!”

“No! You’ll only get hurt!”

A bolt of lightning shot from the aura that surrounded Amity, forming a hole in the ceiling. She receded further into the wall, wishing for nothing more than it to swallow her whole if only to save the human in front of her. She would never forgive herself if she hurt Luz, never.

Luz shielded her eyes from the light, reaching out with her other arm and blindly grabbing at Amity’s shirt sleeve, tugging it as hard as she could. The latter refused to comply, shirking away at the contact. However, someone seemed persistent.

“I’m not letting you face this alone!” Luz declared, this time grabbing the other girl’s wrist and pulling her into a tight hug.

“Luz-” Amity choked.

“It’s…o-kay.” Luz coughed, her embrace weakening.

The electric aura died down with each second of contact, seemingly switching targets. However, it was too late.

Luz’s arms fell from Amity’s back as her knees collapsed beneath her, sending her near-lifeless body toppling to the ground.

“It’s…o-okay,” she faintly smiled, “You’re not…you’re not hurt.”

Amity dropped to her knees in horror, holding Luz’s face. Tears fell onto the latter’s cheeks, smearing the blood from the former’s hands.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no!” She cried out. “Don’t leave, do not leave me, Noceda! You promised! You promised!”

“It’s okay, it’s-” she coughed, “o-kay. You’re…okay.”

By the time the last word was spoken, the electricity vanished and her last breath escaped her lungs.

Amity’s heart stopped.

“You promised.” She whispered.

Her arms mindlessly cradled Luz’s limp body to her chest, crying uncontrollably. She couldn’t be dead. She couldn’t be dead. She couldn’t be dead.

“Luz…”

“Why did you break your promise?”

Luz Appreciation Week

(This is my first time doing something like this, so bear with me.)

So, here’s the thing: Despite being the main character,  Luz Noceda tends to be a little underappreciated. And that will not stand. I refuse to accept the fact that an incredible individual like Luz gets overshadowed by certain side characters, to the point where people are convinced that her love interest is the actual main character of the show. So between October 18-24, how about we show how much we appreciate her, shall we?

I’m talking fanart, fanfiction, and all the works that can prove how much Luz Noceda means to all of us. I’d do it myself, but I am both A.) really lazy and B.) really busy. So instead, I’m going to try and call out to really creative people out there who are talented enough to do it instead (I mean, I’ll probably join in at some point, but don’t count on it).

18th-Human World: And no, not a human AU. Instead, let’s see how well people do when focusing on Luz’s life before coming to the Boiling Isles. There’s some creative potential there. I know there is.

19th-Magic Training: I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory

20th-Something Adorable: I’m talking more fan art of Luz in an otter suit. I’m talking Luz playing with a Chimera as if it was a pet. Whatever it is, it better be frickin’ adorable!

22rd-Shipping Day: Literally, the only time you’re allowed to include Amity into anything. BUT, it is not about Amity. Or any character you choose to ship Luz with (especially if it’s with Eda, you SICK MOTHER FU-). It is important to note that Luz should be the main focus in any fan art or fanfic that you make. For example: How about focusing on Luz’s crush on somebody for a change? Can we do that?

24th-Mother/Daughter time: You know who else is underappreciated? Camilia. If I see one more person talking about Camilia is abusive, I'ma gonna slap a sucka’! So show your love to her by showing how much Luz loves her, dangit!
