Oh goodness it seems as though her offer did not work. She let’s out an awkward laugh and looks back to her horses. Lotus happily standing next to her nudging her arm, while Lily stood still connected to the cart waiting for the command to move.

Looks like she doesn’t have much of a say right now. She reaches up to her shiny blond hair and twirls her fingers in one of the strands as she weighed her options.

She was never good at running, not with two giant horses on her team. They were kind of hard to miss. Plus, there was a slight interest in this prince and the grumpy look on his face. Maybe she could manage to break that grumpy look of his? One could only try right.

“Well alright then. If that’s what you want i’m happy to go.” She turns to the horse behind her, placing the colorful spheres she had been holding into a bag attached to the horses harness. Once the items were safely tucked away she hops back around giving the group a salute. “Lead the way!~“

The prince huffs, turning on his heel and walking off, clearly expecting to be followed. He must admit that his disappointed in the girl’s cooperation, having hoped to cut her down right then and there, but of course Rena could talk their away around the prince bloodying his hands.

Rei glances over his shoulder, watching as his knight led the prisoner and her horses, ensuring that not a soul escaped. He faces forward again and calls out, “Rena. What else is left on the agenda for today?”

“Well... We were supposed to pick up a few medicinal items as well check on the blacksmith’s progress with the new weapons that were requested. ...I suppose these are things we can send another advisor to finish off in town as you’ll have lessons in about an hour and a half. We won’t be able to return to town after taking the, uh, prisoner to her holdings at the castle. The king also requested your presence at dinner tonight.” As they speak, Rei’s mood visibly worsens, but he says nothing more for the rest of the trek to the castle.

“Rena--”

“Amelie! Please take these horses to the stables,” The blonde cuts off the prince, calling a red haired girl over before starting to take Machi to the cells.

A traveling entertainer? That's no excuse. Only the foolish don't heed the rulers of the territory they pass through. "Rena." The blonde at his side snaps to attention. "Bring her to the castle. Use force if you have to."

"Your higness, please. We have many things we must do before heading back, so I suggest that we just leave this girl be." Rena doesn't even flinch at the harsh glare sent their way, they simply sigh after a moment and direct their attention to Machi. "I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to come with us back to the castle. Lest you want to end up dead, do come along willingly. Your horses may come too, though they are not under arrest...." Neither was Machi as far as Rena was concerned, but it was best to just go along with the prince in times like this.

The commotion had drawn his attention, finding it to be rather annoying on this particular day. It’s not like this kind of thing was prohibited, but the kingdom’s prince was in a foul mood, so he swiftly cuts through the crowd, making his way to nuisance standing in the center.

The blatant disrespect the girl shows has his eye twitching and the way she stands above him on the horse makes his skin crawl. He might kill her on the spot were it not for Rena standing beside him.

“What, pray tell, do you think you’re doing? You’re causing a disturbance.” People slowly start to filter out, not wanting to succumb to the prince’s wrath. “I should have you arrested.”

She takes a second to stare at him. Her bright blue eyes observing as much as she could, all while her ears did the listening. Looks like we have a grumpy gus over here. The thought crosses her mind, before she shrug’s it off.

Without dropping her cheerful smile she takes a seat on the horses back, sitting so her legs were happily sticking out. With a soft pat to the neck, Lotus was more then happy to lower himself down so she could slide off of him comfortably.

“Good boy lotus!” She humms Patting the horse again to allow him to stand back up.

Her attention turns back to the man now that she was safely on the ground. Wouldn’t want lotus to get injured if force suddenly happened.

“An arrest?! That’s a pretty big threat mister!~ I would imagine it being a bit of an issue for me as well.” Birds didn’t do well in cages after all. Despite the obvious threat though her cheerful tune continues on.

“You see I am a wandering entertainer. So forgive me if I don’t know who you are. I don’t normally stick around long enough to know important faces.” She could tell that much with how people seemed to scurry away when he showed up though.

Her hand go’s to her chin to think. “OH I could happily leave town for you to be out of your way.” Here’s to hoping he’ll take the deal.

Machi was standing on the back of one of her horses happily singing as she juggled a bunch of colorful spheres. The horse seemed pretty relaxed while the 2nd horse next to him simply leaned against him neither seeming to mind their owners wayward antics. Almost as if use to it.

There were few people paying attention at first, but slowly others took notice which only seemed to add to her endless amount of energy. However the tone in the crowd seemed to shift as the people watching suddenly separated avoiding a new comer into the area.

Machi having no clue who the person was, happily she stopped quickly catching every single sphere as if it were natural for her. “Hello there sir! The name is Machi how can I help you?” She asks still standing on the back of the large draft horse.

Nothing fucking mattered anyways. 

A fist slams against the wall, the nekojin completely exhausted and absolutely seething. He has to live with his choices, he knows this. He fucking chose this, so why the fuck was it suddenly affecting him so much? 

Maybe it was the way Mao chased him, the look of hurt and betrayal in her eyes as he dodged her at every turn. Or perhaps it was the way Ren looked at him, guilt and pity flickering in those eyes before fading back to composure. It could be the smile Rena gave him or the disappointed gaze he constantly felt from Driger or the way Rima insisted on caring about him.

He was just so fucking tired. Nothing ever changed, nothing ever got better. He wasn’t any closer to fixing the damn issue and at this point he’s lost too much of himself to go back. Regret claws at his chest before he sighs and slides down the wall, sitting tucked away in the darkness of the alleyway.
