It’s 1991. Rock ‘n Roll songs top the charts and everybody loves ‘em. Flannel is in and grunge is all the rage. Everybody talks to each other—the world of cellphones and constant technology is non-existent for most. The twin towers are still standing tall, and New York City is absolutely fantastic. Carrington University is the best of the best. We’re a brand new appless rp and our tags aren’t working yet, could we please have a shoutout?

We're a brand new Harry Potter, next gen rp with lots of open characters, both Wizards but also Non-Wizards; Veelas, Vampires, Werewolfs, Goblins etc. We're only one app away from opening and I know the players are desperate to start! (also if you have time to do a review that would be wonderful!)

This community really fucking sucks. Every time I log on, there's some sort of fucking problem. 

Listen to me. RP is for writing. It's to experience different characters, and different people, and to enhance your writing skills. It's to be free and cry and laugh and get mad when something happens to your muses. 

It's not about the fucking drama. It's not about the fucking graphics. It shouldn't be "who has the nicest color scheme." 

I should be able to put up a basic theme with a white fucking background for a roleplay with an amazing plot and get as many apps as an RP with a stellar theme and a stupid ass plot. 

But noooooooo, RP became all about the aesthetic. 

Y'all bitch about how there are no RPs in the tags, but what the fuck are you talking about? There are RPs all the time. You're all just too high and mighty for some of the things in the tags who very well deserve the attention they deserve. 

Let's talk about some of the stupidest shit in the community:

"RP isn't about themes!!" but you won't apply because you don't like the theme 

"We need more original RPs!!" but you apply to the same small town with a secret plot over and over again

"We need underused FCs!!" but you won't apply for the RPs that don't have 1D FCs

"We need diversity!!" but the people who bring in different FCs and characters get ignored

"Everyone should be active!!" but you're all the first to drop a character. 

Let's move on to rude talk blogs: 

Why do you exist? 

Why do you actually exist to tear down someone's work?

Someone is proud of their shit and you ruin it for them by being complete bitches. 

Why? What have you accomplished? 

If you're that great and so much better, why don't you make a roleplay?

The amount of people in this community who don't care about me, but care about the support I give them is astounding. The amount of people who lie to me and keep secrets in this community is just as astounding. But I'm not going to make that public. I'm not going to expose them or shit like that. 

But I can say that in the 10 months I have been in the RP community, I now only have maybe 4 friends. Four. That's fucking ridiculous. 

You see, we can all talk about the changes we want and we can all talk about the RPs we want. But nothing is going to change or happen until we actually do it. Be the change that you fucking want to see. 

Solutions: 

In reviews/opinions, stop talking about themes and graphics. Unless it's making the text hard to read, don't mention it at all. 

Stop sending in questions to rude talk blogs. If needed, I can even make a list of talk blogs known for hate rather than critique. If we cut them out, no point in them staying. 

If you're going to be fake friends to someone, cut it out. There's nothing more shitty than realizing that half the friends you thought you had didn't really care about you. 

Support and include diversity and underused FCs if it matters to you. 

Please stop this bullshit.

Have you ever come across a homeless individual and felt totally uncomfortable?

You see them and you know they are in need, but you are not sure what to do. You know that handing them money is not the best thing. But, you also see that they clearly have some needs. Their lips are chapped. They are hungry. They are thirsty. They are asking for help.

How can you help?

Here is a simple idea - blessing bags.

This was such an easy project. We are now going to keep a few “Blessing Bags” in our car so that when we do happen to see someone on the streets who is homeless, we can hand them a Blessing Bag. I first learned of these bags from my friend, Julie. I am using the picture of her bags (see above) because the ones we took were taken in horrible lighting and turned out really grainy and hard to see what is inside of them.

If you’d like to make your own Blessing Bags, this is what you would need:

Gallon size Ziplock bags

items to go in the bags, such as:

chap stick

packages of tissues

toothbrush and toothpaste

comb

soap

trail mix

granola bars

crackers

pack of gum

band aids

mouthwash

coins (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)

hand wipes

you could also put in a warm pair of socks, and maybe a Starbucks gift card

Assemble all the items in the bags, and maybe throw in a note of encouragement. Seal the bags and stow in your car for a moment of providence.

This would be a great activity to do with some other families. Each family could bring one of the items going into the bags (ex: toothbrushes). Set up all the items around a table and walk around it with the ziplocks and fill the bags.
