My wife @umbrace-rambles treatened me to post this since i never post about ocs, so what better way if not shitpost lol
(This is gonna make sense to like, 3 people maybe)
TLDR We might have an issue on making many Aus for fun of our characters, and usually these two are the ones that get put in the grinder. The go apeshit is my own personal apocalypse setting , and their canon timeline, the other is the Horizon AU we have been cooking since i forced her to play trough both games this year kek (CHECK OUT HER BEAUTIFUL REFERENCE HERE https://www.tumblr.com/blacksa1t/768330557939728384?source=share )
One day i'll properly post about my ocs brainrot, i swear- for now just low effort shitpost

I can't believe I'm posting the reference of an AU before I post anything about the actual canon setting of my main OC but alas. I just finished it and I must show it to the world. I shall post about his canon self one day
This is my main boy, Mikhail (or Mik, but he would never use that), from @blacksa1t and I's Horizon AU <3 terrible man that must always be rich and miserable I love you so
His outfit is purposely clashing with most canon Zenith designs because he hates bodytight clothing & he finds them hideous, hope this helps. He has a vague predator/prey design going on, with the shoes and collar resembling snakes and the cape resembling bird wings + very blatantly obvious bloody hands
For whoever cares about OC lore/setting, A LOT more info about him under the cut:
He shares the early childhood of his canon setting, to summarize: he was a very complicated child that was constantly changing focus and mastering new things to entertain himself. Eventually his brother Alexander (Alex) came along when he was 9.
He had a brief streak of very intense fixation on his brother at the time, encouraged by his parents, in which he ended up being pretty much a role model for him and trying to do everything together. He understood there's only so much you can do with a baby but over the years grew restless about how long it took for him to grow.
By the time his brother was old enough to be "entertaining" Mik had grown out of this role and fixated on new things, this created a pretty cold and hard relationship between the two. Mostly because his brother had felt the best of Mik during his most important years and was very eager to try and get that attention back, but Mik was increasingly cold and annoyed by him (this will be important later). Mik eventually left the family unit at 16 as a self-proclaimed outsider and almost completely cut connections with all of them.
He spent many years flip flopping around, starting and leaving degrees, living a bit of an extreme life. He only kept contact with his parents to ask them for money, until his father got him a flat in the city and finally cut all connections with him. This is when Mik got into business.
NOW, for Actual Horizon AU Mik info. All of this follows canon timeline of the actual game:
Pre-Odyssey:
Born in 2010 (jesus christ)
Agricultural magnate and GM food giant (control over the food market through GMO exclusivity of his seed companies)
Active pillar of the worsening global warming pre-Claw back (monopolization of crop growth, development of pests, insect extinction, tons of waste and pollution)
Blames absolutely everything on other people, never accepts blame for anything, and has a deep hatred for Ted Faro
Climate change denier
When the first Odyssey was created he thought it was also a waste of time because Earth was fiiiineee people were just exaggerating. After Far Zenith purchased it to continue its development he didn't immediately join. It wasn't until the threat of the Faro plague became known to him that he ate his pride and joined them
He, for the first time in his life, was the one to try and reach out to his family (that was involved with Zero Dawn, as you will see later) to try and bring them to the Odyssey, but they declined. That became Mik's lowest point in life, when it finally hit him how far away they were from each other, preferring to die with Earth than continue living with him. He takes it as a personal affront that he will never get over, that scars him.
Mikhail's parents had a primary house they lived in most of the time, and a farmhouse they sometimes went to for vacation. Mik fucking hated that place and it felt even more like a cage than his house, while his brother absolutely adored it
Mik never understood Alex, same as in canon, and there was always a large rift between them, though his brother tried often to reach for him
Alex, born from his love of the farmhouse and consequent love in nature, ironically also ended up in agriculture- but in a MUCH smaller scale than Mik. He got involved in ecological agriculture and tried his best to fight off climate change trying to change agricultural methods to make them less impactful. Mik was the opposite
When they reached the age where they were both active "rivals", his brother started to understand the kind of person that Mik was, and finally stopped reaching for him
Mik didn't even glance at his family, he was fully focused on his job and growing empire. He probably didn't even know his brother had come to study agriculture and was doing his own thing, they were so small and completely beneath him.
Eventually, Mik's company and their advancements would crush his family's without him knowing. Zero Dawn was the last chance his brother had to do anything for himself after that.
Their parents died during the Doom Plague (in 2039) in one of their visits to Moscow (their dad is Russian). Alex barely survived, ended up hospitalized for a very long time and despite eventually healing, he ended up with some severe chronic issues.
Despite having to learn how to live again with his disabilities, he went back to studying and eventually created his own lil farming compound. He fully committed to it with decent success to keep living until Mik's agricultural advances and the worsening global situation killed it (around 2050)
Alex was able to join Miriam Technologies a few years after that and Elisabet brough him over to Zero Dawn for sharing a common goal & vision.
Mikhail was completely unaware of the death of their parents by the time he sent the invitation for the Odyssey, which included both of them. This is one of the main reasons Alex declined, for the absolute gall of it all.
Alex works on Zero Dawn for the remaining years of his life, ultimately leaving part of his DNA on one of the cradle facilities to leave "his mark" on the future. He dies in Elysium.
He will have descendants in one of the first ELEUTHIA waves of children, and they will live their natural life when leaving the facility. Mikhail will never know, and they will be long dead before he comes back.
Odyssey time:
By the time they leave on the Odyssey Mik is 55. Unsure how long they took to become immortal but I set it as 3 years later when he's 58
At the beginning he would probably be quite close to Samuel (@blacksa1t's character), because while he would know other people there, he was never one to mingle too much. He would feel a certain level of understanding of his trauma with Zack and attempt (very badly) to "be there for him" (aka listen to his venting)
As the years pass of them being locked together, the worsening obsession he has with Zack, and his one (1) topic of discussion always being the same, it would start to grind him pretty badly, and he would try to put in Sam's head that he needs to move the fuck on from this loss
Eventually he would grow distant, no longer wanting to deal with it. They're probably no longer close by the time they get to Sirius.
Mik develops his customized assistant robot while in Sirius, bored out of his mind.
The assistant is not an AI as it doesn't have its own intelligence. The idea behind it was.... they probably have some sort of assistant robot things in the Odyssey to do shit for them? So he probably grabbed one of those and heavily modified/customized it for himself.
It's connected to Mik's zenith equivalent of a focus, and he doesn't have to verbally give it orders for it to act. This makes it look like it may have consciousness or take its own decisions when it doesn't.
Most often he uses it as a cane and he uses it more often than he would like to, to bring him things when he's sitting around or helping him with things he struggles with. It's like a robot caretaker. Making it transform into birds/dogs was his own doing (and a not-acknowledged choice on his brother's behalf, because he was the animal lover of the two, and he especially liked birds)
It's not a pet but a tool/servant for him. He does care for it to the extent of not wanting to lose it/for it to break or anything, part of it for the amount of time he spent working on it (during his worst mental state years on Sirius, as a way to escape his own thoughts, probably why he ended up projecting some of them about his brother onto it) and because it's personal
Samuel dies when Nemesis attacks and Mik barely escapes. He does not have a copy of himself on it, as he found the idea exceedingly creepy + his worsening depression didn't think it was worth to preserve it.
Going back to Earth will be a whole journey for him, triggered by the existence of Ren (an Utaru member, clone of Samuel's son Zack, also owned by @blacksa1t) that keeps reminding him of his brother.
Hope you like my horrible man <3 yay

hey so SIKE i was supposed to work on Sawtooth next, but as i am playing with my gf the second game and we reached THE mission that introduced them well,,,, i was just really excited to try their simple shapes lol.
There is something on how fluid they are that is just so cool to look at, even if they can be a pain to fight.
Surely not the last time i will draw them, but was fun to try my hand on them for the first time
See under for extra shitpost sketches

I've recently been replaying with a friend Horizon Zero Dawn, and man i really forgot how much i love the story. Such a pearl of a game, the world lore and setting is just right up my alley
So i decided to give myself (another) side project, of getting around to draw all the machines in the game, and eventually the ones in the sequel (and ofc dlcs)
Its....a lot, counting that int he first one its around 23, and the second has even more, and because theese do take a while as i enjoy making them as detalied as possible don't expect the next one in line to be finished anytime soon lol
But ye, i really enjoyed drawing this lil guy, always forget how strangely relaxing mechas are for me to line

A fisherman above and below the sea.
In the giant kelp forests, Kraw can really get an ambush on ya 🐅
As I mentioned before, his bioluminescence can do color shifts between red and green, switching between luring and invisibility.
