Theories for the future of the Blood and Ash universe

This according to me is Sera's journey in becoming the primal of life.

When the stars fall from the night, the great mountains crumble into the seas, and old bones raise their swords beside the gods,

This is probably in the upcoming books of flesh and fire series where Sera and the gods fight Kolis and succeed in defeating him.

They succeed in the battle/war against him but aren't able to kill Kolis (for some reason I don't understand). they lock him up in, what is now, the blood forest in carsadonia.

I think misdeeds in the prophecy refers to bringing people back from the dead and ascending them into false god status... it could be the ascendance of isbeth by malec (who could, with the info we know from asite, be a primal)

Until two born of the same misdeeds, born of the same great and Primal power in the mortal realm

This refers to poppy and isbeth's son who is presumed to be killed by Alistair. Also it says "until" so I guess that means with poppy's birth whatever lock up kolis was in, is released.

A first daughter, with blood full of fire, fated for the once-promised King.

Sera is the first daughter and her title is "a fire in the flesh", so this line could be referring to her. The once promised king could be Nyktos as he was born with an ember of life... and the primals of life are the kings of illiseum.

And the second daughter, with blood full of ash and ice, the other half of the future King.

The second daughter is Poppy and the king is Cas. The other half refers to the fact that they are heartmates.

Together, they will remake the realms as they usher in the end.

Thoughts and theories I have after reading The Crown of gilded Bones (spoilers):

what exactly is Isbeth?

Do you think Malec will side with Isbeth if he frees himself/gets freed? She is his heartmate but maybe there is some good left in him, after all, he was ready to leave Antlantia

I want Poppy to go full god mode when freeing Casteel, pls, feral Poppy is all I want

I really want to see more Draken, so glad they got introduced

Poppy will definitely turn into one herself at one point, they talked so much about her not being able to change forms that I think it will happen lol

After all, her father could

Ires. Like, who even is he? We have no info about him other than he and Isbeth are Poppy‘s parents, and he is supposed to be the „good“ son if we can believe the Draken

I‘m so so glad we got Tawny back, I loved her in fbaa and I hope she isn’t some spy working for the false queen

And why did Poppy need Casteel‘s blood if she‘s a god? Or didn’t she actually need it?

Am I the only one who thinks that the Revenants will side with Poppy at the end?

We only met two of them but they didn’t seem super evil

The female one didn’t like being used by the queen and she only wants to protect the people of Solis and the male one was too amused by Poppy humiliating the king at the end, they have to switch sides

So let’s talk about Malik, Cas‘ brother

Do we think he is truly evil now?

Because I have my doubts

His expression was shocked and I think he might have feelings for the female Revenant

And that’s why he sides with Solis, to protect her and maybe even Cas

I just don’t think he is entirely evil

So that’s it for now. I enjoyed the book a lot, especially the last pages. I‘m also super excited for Nyktos‘ story!

It’s weird to me that a lot of Bughead fans out there are okay with Jabitha happening because it’s what’s best for Jughead, while Betty needs to work through her issues and on herself 😒

To me, it feels like Jughead isn’t in a place for a relationship either. He has the mob after him because he owes money, he is an alcoholic, clearly has trauma from his New York days, hasn’t moved on from his high school girlfriend - but yeah totally, it’s best for him to enter a relationship. But Betty, you better stay single, girlie. Only men get to have romantic love when they are going through issues.

Also, how these fans love Betty slander… but continue to claim they like Betty. Time to change your pfp cause ur fake as fuck.

Thank you for pointing out that season 5 Bughead is not a slow burn. I want them to get back together like everyone else. But I keep seeing people saying to just enjoy the slow burn. I'm like what slow burn, they don't even talk to each other. Now I think that is all about to chang and we will get a mini slow burn.

But right or wrong if we are going to keep reminding a certain ship they aren't a slow burn because the two characters never talk. We have to say the same thing about season 5 bughead so far.

i realized after the fact that i should have added "communication and tension" in the tags of that post, ha.

what's the best part of a slow burn? a real one? the fucking tension. that's what keeps people reading and/or watching. it's what gets them invested.

if i'm reading a book or a fic (or watching a show/movie) and there's no build up of something, i'm not going to really care much about what that couple is doing. first kisses are important for a reason, you know? because we want that build up that feels like a relief when something finally happens. and no, riverdale doesn't do slow burns well, we all know that (and no, b/a isn't and wasn't ever a slow burn, the shippers that want it to be doesn't make it so) but they are usually good at situational tension. like this:

riverdale isn't going to do some long range relationship build up, i think we all know that. but they're just keeping them apart when they could be building all of these emotional undertones throughout the mystery portion of the show.

it really feels like they're just putting their badly done throwaway plots on display and ignoring the emotional beats of the show that sold it for the 4 years previously, doesn't it? they could have been using the ships/characters to get us invested in the plot and how it affects them going forward but this whole season feels like an outline of a story because it's missing the heart of it all.

To summarise:

Archie has nightmares about his time at the trenches in Verdun, when he wasn’t able to save one of his soldiers. World War I has been hard on Archie.

World War I has been hard on Eric as well, who’s taken to sleep-walking(?) with his loaded rifle. No wonder Jughead lives at the garage.

Uncle Frank has the brilliant idea to get Archie and Eric a dog as a therapy pet. Except this is Riverdale, so the dog, too, has trauma.

It’s not only young women who have gone missing in Riverdale but also canines: there is an illegal dog fighting ring that no one knows where it is. The Three Army Buddies find it nevertheless and take it down. I’m breathless with how many times Archie has saved this town.

Archie will now take care of a hundred and one dogs. Not Dalmatians though, which is a pity, because that would have worked so well with his firefighter plot line. Toffee is rolling on the floor laughing.

Archie in 5x14:

In a completely unexpected turn of events, season 5 being a new show and everything, Veronica decides to go after her father’s business. She recruits Reggie, who just wants to work for a Lodge really. Maybe now Smithers will be allowed to retire?

“SoDale is a scam?!” asks outraged one of the investors, who hasn’t bothered to check on his investment before Ronnie called him.

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, unless you’re the She-Wolf of Wall Street, in which case you apply reverse psychology i.e. condescension. It’s not surprising that it works. I mean, these were Hiram’s investors to begin with.

Fabergé only made about 69 eggs, but his cousin Glamergé must have made much more, because Veronica is giving them away like candy to her clients. I just wish one of the writers had googled a Fabergé egg’s price. Oh, well.

Riverdale High is still doing distance learning. Or maybe not. I mean, Kevin was there but I didn’t see any students in attendance.

Kevin is named teacher of the year, probably because he’s the only person that has ever taught drama, debate, biology, gym and sex-ed in the span of a single year. I bet this was Mrs Bell’s doing (both the scheduling and the accolade).

Ever since Archie & co started teaching, he’s been left with too much free time to make (new) bad decisions, including asking ex-gaslighting girlfriend Cheryl for relationship advice.

When he goes over at Fangs’ to ask for clemency, he catches his ex having wine and cheese with his other ex, i.e. his ex’s ex’s ex. As Cheryl exclaimed: That is diabolical.

The maths is too hard for him so he joins a new cult.

Riverdale is the only show where becoming the art director for a cult led by a convicted serial killer is considered a step-up from being a teacher.

Run, Moose, Run.

Some people collect butterflies. Betty collects serial killers. Much like with the butterflies, she insists on catching them on her own.

She has now quit the FBI but since no one has asked her to hand over her bureau-issued gear, she still has her badge, her gun and a collection of FBI jackets to give her accomplices friends. This is consistent with the FBI forgetting to pack up their Riverdale field office for 7 years.

Glen makes an appearance to request Betty’s badge -but not her gun or jacket(s). He’s probably still pissed that Betty stabbed him and got away with it but he was the one researching her serial killer genes, so he’s got no excuse for not having been prepared.

After their successful team-up in 5x11, where they lost both Jughead and his manuscript, Betty and Tabitha collaborate again to track down The Lonely Highway Killer (LHK) by first luring him to Pop’s with sexy dancing.

It is a wonder that LHK hasn’t been caught yet as he travels with blood all over his truck. It is also a wonder that he managed to kill anybody, because apparently his pick-up line is “I like to watch people die, will you excuse me just a sec to go grab my chainsaw?” or something to that effect.

Betty turns her back to a serial killer for one second (this is premium FBI training stuff) and he (momentarily) disappears. No manners at all. 

LHK and Betty have a show-down, him with his chainsaw, Betty with her trusty spanner. Unlike Glen, LHK hasn’t done research on the Cooper/Smith serial killer genes and, thus, doesn’t stand a chance.

Tabitha wants to hand him over to the FBI. Tabitha is new to the show.

Taking into consideration Glen’s general incompetence, I’m with Betty on this one.

Toffee is on a self-exploration journey at Llasa visiting the Jokhang temple. She’s not coming back until Archie has his dogs under control.

One down, six more opportunities for Cheryl to burst into song.

"you found the one person that would hurt me and veronica", yet that person can talk to his bestie and love of his life while betty have to pay for that one stupid kiss losing both of them. i fuckin hate those writers and the way they're making a woman fight for the love of her ex and bff whle that ginger judas didn't do anything. she wasn't the one who wrote a song or even want to do more, she stopped that, she was the only one to apologize to jug and v, she's the only one that got called bitch. if jug thinks they were hooking up, he needs to learn the truth and maybe punch archie, they're making betty the only villain here. i'm worried with that "don't be such a betty" they will make her the "bad guy" again.

i think "hooking up" is just a vague term of reference, didn't betty tell him it was just a kiss? but that also speaks to what things become in your mind when reality is different. he could have built it up in his head even tho she told him what it was.

i am definitely side eyeing the way the show is writing archie as some sort of golden child. which, yes, they always have but this is just...a lot. and you're right, she stopped it, she didn't write that song, she reminded him he loved veronica, and then she started the conversation to stop it in 5x08 and yet. and yet! she's still isolated for the most part while archie and jughead live together and archie was back together with veronica.

maybe something will happen with archie and jughead later on in the season about what happened since jughead is still feeling some kind of way about it but i wouldn't be shocked if they don't.

hope all those people who like f/alice and hated bughead aren't confused since they're definitely making them more and more like their parents as time goes on.

oh ha, i think there was someone who caught shit for a minute over pointing out that tabitha, at the time, had been in like 5 episodes or something like that. but you're not wrong, we don't really know her very well yet other than the very little background stuff she's said about herself.

the thing is, with shipping or girl boss style characters, people don't need to know them. they can imprint whatever they want all over them and there's not enough canon to tell them they're wrong.

ohh yeah, can you even imagine what would have been said had betty been the one to leave him handcuffed while tripping? 🤦‍♀️
