What is generative art?
Generative art is art created with the use of autonomous systems, generally one that is non-human which will generate the art for the artists. So basically, the artist gives away their power to allow some or all of the decisions to be made by the autonomous system.
Geometry, abstraction and randomness are important themes. Codes or formulas are often involved to create the artwork. This is why generative art often refers to algorithmic art, although it can also be manual randomization, data mapping, symmetry etc.
Fractal art So I decided to use algorithmic art to create the generative art for this blog, as algorithms relate to the Internet and create a new result out of nothing. How algorithms work is also a mystery to me, and the fact that there are new algorithms created all the time makes them seem like they can go on into infinity.
Algorithmic art is basically what it says it is = some form of visual art generated by an algorithm.
Fractal art is a form of algorithmic art that is created by “calculating fractal objects and representing the calculation results as still images, animation and media”.
I experimented with p5.js (JavaScript) and with Mandelbrot’s Fractal using Ultrafractal, which are two different autonomous systems. As I have very little experience with coding, the experimentation consisted of adding different numbers to the formulas to see what would happen. By incorporating chance into the art piece, it took me from one set image or specific starting point to a completely different result to what I could ever have expected. This again can be related to “black holes on the internet”.

Further exploration with fractal art in the programme Ultrafractal, using a template to create random results by changing the formula around. Takes you from a starting point to a completely different and unexpected result. Can change it in infinate ways.

Exploration with generative art in the programme Ultrafractal, using a template (already altered by me) to create random results by changing the formula around and by zooming in and out. The formula stems from an autonomous system called the Mandelbrot set. The system takes you from a starting point (which is the set image) to a completely different and unexpected result. When you zoom in and out it feels like it can go on to infinity.

Corners of the internet are viewed as websites. There are 1.5 billion websites in existence, therefore 1.5 billion corner. Only 200 million of these are active. This equates to 2/15 or 13.3% active websites. In Western Culture 13 is viewed as an UNLUCKY number. Could this be showing that the internet is a bad and unlucky place? Only 13% of the websites are active, are the active unlucky? Is this why the internet always gets a bad name? 77% are left inactive and seven in Western Culture is perceived as a LUCKY number, does this mean that all of the inactive websites are lucky?

The 27 club conspiracy theories
Over the years, several famous musicians have coincidentally all passed away at the age of 27. These include big names such as Jimi Hendrix (1970), Janis Joplin (1970), Jim Morrison (1971) and Kurt Cobain (1994). The list goes on. But many fans have been questioning whether this might not be coincidental at all.
The white lighter myth Several conspiracy theories have been created around the death of the members of the 27 club. The first one stems from the fact that some of the biggest members of the 27 club had white Bic lighters in their pockets when they died. Not surprising, as many of them were smokers and/or drug abusers.
This has led many musicians to avoid carrying white lighters from the superstition that the same curse might strike them. However, this theory has been debunked as Bic lighters weren’t even around until after some of these members had died.
Musicians selling their soul to the devil Another theory surrounding their deaths is the legend that they all sold their soul to the devil. Some people believe this legend is based on a real-life occurrence in 1930, when Robert Johnson, often seen as the grandfather of blues, apparently sold his soul to the devil.
According to one of Johnson’s contemporaries, his guitar skills weren’t anything to brag about until he disappeared for a few weeks and came back mastering the guitar. The legend says the devil retuned his guitar for him and in exchange for this, he sold his soul. Suddenly he could master blues music like no other before him.
Another story says Johnson got called into the yard of the bar he used to play in by a man holding a guitar. The man told him that the instrument was magic, and if he took it, he would become famous. The strangers said he was the devil, and in return for fame, he would come back and claim Johnson’s soul. Johnson took the guitar and became famous, only to shortly after die at the age of 27. People believe the devil had come back to claim his prize.
People believe this has similarily happened to other musicians dying at 27, as they experienced a short-lived life of massive fame until the devil decided it was time to collect their souls.
Supposedly Bob Dylan in an interview also talked of “holding up his part of the bargain” to get where he is now. He said the deal was with “the chief commander of this world and the world we cannot see”, which has led many to believe he was talking about the devil. However, this has also later been debunked.
It seems that these celebrities might just have died of natural causes such as mental illness and drug abuse after fame got to them.

The Philosopher Plato developed the concept of a cave to discuss our lives and our seclusion from Philosophy preventing us from truly experiencing the world in its natural form. Each thing mentioned within the analogy is symbolic. For example the dark cave represents us being trapped inside our own narrow minds.
The video considers moving Platos analogy into the modern day and changes the contexts of each element of symbolism. Creating a more literal development of the theory of the Cave. So now making the cave someones bedroom where they lock themselves away form the outside world. The fire now being the computer/internet and the shadows being cast on the wall now being anonymous profiles on the internet.

Access any page on Wikipedia. Any page at all. Proceed to click on the first highlighted word on each new page that you are taken to. Every single page thread will eventually lead back to Philosophy. This symbolises how everything in life links back to Philosophy in the end, whether this be a physical thing or not. Doing this process is spiralling through an internet black hole.

Lizard people conspiracy theory
One of the biggest conspiracy theories online today is the theory that certain politicians and celebrities are actually humanoid, shapeshifting lizards that have come from a different dimension seeking to take over our world.
What are they? Several theorists believe these reptilians use holographic technology to blend in with the rest of us “normal” humans, and often they have sunk their claws into powerful figures or risen to high levels of power. Some also believe they have been breeding with humans to create more lizard people or human-like lizards.
According to new-age philosopher David Icke, who is one of the leading theorists around this conspiracy, these reptilians are also behind Illuminati, and have been around since ancient times.
Lizard people are believed to come from the constellation Draco, which in Latin means ”huge serpent”. So, basically, these lizards are aliens or reptoids.
Celebrities/politicians that might be lizard people Many believe that political figures such as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Trump and the Clinton’s are lizard people. Even the QUeen has been linked to this conspiracy theory. And then there are several celebs believed to be reptilians: Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie, Madonna and Mark Zuckerberg to name a few.
How can you tell whether someone is part of the lizard people? According to those who believe this theory, there are several ways to spot lizard people if you look closely enough:
Their eyes - often these people will have green eyes and abnormally good eyesight. If you look close enough their eyes will also look reptilian, rather than human.
Skin - you may be able to see scales on their skin or spots of green when they are about to/in the middle of shapeshifting. There may also be unexplained scars on their bodies.
Hologram glitches - sometimes you may also be able to see flickers of reptile in either their eyes or their skin due to their hologram disguise glitching.
Justin Bieber The theory caused a stir when Justin visited Perth on one of his tours and supposedly turned into a giant lizard in front of his fans. Some claimed they saw coloured scales on his skin. It was published in Perth Now, but quickly taken down - probably due to Justin’s management. But were they trying to hide something? There is also that creepy court video where Justin’s eyes turn from human to what looks like reptilian, then he looks away, and when he turns back to the camera his eyes are back to normal.
Miley Cyrus The main ‘proof’ of Miley being a reptilian comes from an interview she did with Barbara Walters in 2013. If you slow down the clip, you can see her pupil turn into a slit for a split second as if her eye is glitching from human to a lizard’s eye. She is also famous for sticking her tongue out all the time.
