"I wasn't trying to die! How can you not see what I was trying to do?!" He huffed in frustration and tried to regain his focus. How the hell did Shiro manage to lead so well, he thought to himself.

Keith was a little confused by what she meant, there was no way she knew what he had done.

"Oh, Madylin! Hi! What are you talking about?" he said a silent prayer that she had no idea what he did.

The hug threw Keith off guard, stunned for a moment before he returned the affectionate embrace. Letting go he gave a sorry smile and nodded.

“Dammit Keith,” Madylin cursed softly patching up the rest of Keith’s wounds, hands still glowing faintly with quintessence from taking care of the worse ones. 

“It’s bad enough we almost died and and top of that-” she exhaled shakily. “You got hurt too.”

He took her hand and stood, wobbly but he could stand. Keith took a deep breath and looked the girl in the eyes. "Thank you... I'll be more careful. "

“Dammit Keith,” Madylin cursed softly patching up the rest of Keith’s wounds, hands still glowing faintly with quintessence from taking care of the worse ones. 

“It’s bad enough we almost died and and top of that-” she exhaled shakily. “You got hurt too.”

Keith chuckled, "Someday maybe you will!" He never really thought of it but they would have to pass down the Lions to a new generation someday. The girl seemed eager and he felt right to encourage her.

It had been a few weeks since Emma had moved in with Shiro and Curtis and she was loving it already. Never again was she left alone, felt sad in the slightest.

She was showered in love and affection every single day for one of the first times in her lives.

So when the door started to open she hopped off the couch in excitement hoping it be one of them, but was surprised to see another boy much older than her hair pulled back in a ponytail.

“Who are you?” Emma asked curiously. @black-and-red-pilot

He avoided looking at the girl, moving his eyes everywhere but towards her.

"Yeah.... I know... I'll try better next time... "

To fly red was a special and very personal experience to Keith. He sighed wistfully before replying.

"It was like nothing I could have predicted. It was so difficult at first, Red wasn't the easiest to fly. Once you got the hang of it though it was a dream. "
