The Black Mirror by Muhwa

Notes: What really drew me into this story was the mystery. I wanted to know why Tae-jun couldn’t remember anything, and what was with the black room. Personally, I was a little disappointed by the ending and what was actually going on. I felt like it was a bit rushed and left me with more questions than answers. 

However, I still really enjoyed reading this as I’m a big horror fan and I’m sure others who enjoy this genre will also have a fun time reading it! Certain aspects can be triggering to certain people so please mind the tags.

Notes: This is a very dark, very angsty story. There’s a lot of violent and explicit scenes so please mind the tags. There’s not a lot I can say without spoiling it, but I was drawn to this story due to the plight our two protagonists had to go through and how they both dealt with it in their own self-destructive ways. It’s a grueling and sad read but worthwhile one.

Mother’s Spirit by Enzou

Summary: University employee Ryouichirou is ordered by the Chairman to take in an exchange student. That exchange student, Qaltaqa, is a native from a developing country who can't understand Japanese!! Though he is a warrior of his tribe and a man of great beauty, seeing him afraid of the phone and the TV, and even the toilet, Ryouichirou gets fed up… But while being called "Ryouichirou" in such a clumsy manner, he has a change of heart!?

Notes: If you’re looking for a short but sweet story than this is definitely the one for you! I found Mother’s Spirit to be very wholesome and surprisingly respectful in the way they represented tribal people. The artwork is also well done which is always a plus!
