This is so freaking adorable!!!
Hey! Could you write a Remus x fem reader if you can. Reader is 8, when she finds the wolf cub in the woods, bleeding and crying, she gets it home and tends to it, while her parents said that she should have put it out of its misery, but she doesn't leave him. The next morning there was no wolf, he left. Years later in Hogwarts she finds out it was Remus.

The evening air is crisp, the kind that bites at your cheeks and nips at your nose, but you don’t care. It’s your favorite time of the day, when the sun sinks low, draping the forest in a gentle twilight. There’s a soft, golden glow that makes everything seem a little more magical, a little more alive.
You’re wandering the woods near your house, as you often do after dinner, humming softly to yourself. The world feels still, almost like it’s holding its breath, waiting for something. That’s when you hear it—a soft, pitiful whimper, breaking through the quiet. You freeze, ears straining to catch the sound again, and when it does, your heart clenches.
It’s coming from deeper in the forest, behind the old oak tree with the split trunk. You know you shouldn’t go too far; your mum would have your head if she found out. But there’s something in that cry that makes your feet move before your mind can catch up, drawing you closer, step by careful step.
When you finally find it, your breath catches in your throat. A small, silver-grey wolf cub is curled up beneath a bush, shivering, its fur matted with blood. You can barely see its tiny body through the mess of brambles, but you can hear its breathing—uneven, wheezing, and terribly weak.
“Oh no…” you whisper, dropping to your knees beside it. Your heart breaks at the sight; the poor thing looks so scared, so hurt. Without thinking, you reach out, your hand hovering uncertainly above its head. “It’s okay, little guy. I’m here.”
The cub flinches when your fingers brush against its fur, a soft whine escaping its throat. You can tell it’s scared, but too tired to move away. Your fingers are shaking, but you’re gentle, so gentle, as you start untangling the brambles from its fur. The little wolf looks up at you, and for a moment, you’re struck by its eyes—large, amber, and startlingly human.
“It’s okay,” you murmur again, stroking its head softly, “I’m going to take care of you.”
It’s a struggle to get the cub back to your house, your arms burning from the effort of carrying its limp, fragile body. You have no idea what you’re doing, but you know you can’t leave it out here to die. When you finally make it home, your parents are in the kitchen, and they stop dead when they see you standing in the doorway, the little wolf in your arms.
“What on earth…?” your mum starts, eyes widening.
“I found him in the woods,” you say quickly, before she can ask too many questions. “He’s hurt. I think… I think he’s going to die if I don’t help him.”
Your dad frowns, and your heart skips a beat, because you can already tell what he’s going to say. “You should have left it there, sweetheart. It’s wild, and there’s no sense in trying to save it.”
“No!” The word bursts out of you before you can stop it, your voice louder than you intended. You clutch the wolf tighter, feeling its soft, labored breaths against your chest. “I can’t just leave him.”
There’s a heavy pause, and you can feel your dad’s eyes on you, hard and scrutinizing. But then he sighs, and the tension melts out of his shoulders. “Alright. But if it’s still suffering in the morning, we’ll do what’s best.”
You swallow, but nod. “Okay.”
That night, you don’t sleep. You’re too afraid that if you close your eyes, even for a moment, the little cub won’t be there when you wake up. So you sit on the floor beside your bed, cradling it in a soft blanket, your hands moving in gentle, soothing strokes over its fur.
It’s strange, but as the hours pass, it stops shivering. It even leans into your touch, like it knows you’re trying to help. “You’re going to be okay,” you whisper, trying to convince yourself as much as the wolf. “You’ll see.”
When the sun rises, you’re half asleep, slumped over with your head resting on the edge of the bed. But when you wake, the cub is gone. The blanket is empty, and there’s no sign of blood, no sign that it was ever there at all. You stumble to your feet, frantically searching the room, but there’s nothing.
For a moment, you think it must have been a dream, but then you see it—one, single silver hair left behind on your pillow.
.・。.・゜✭・.
The years between that night in the woods and now have been a slow, beautiful unfolding. You never quite stopped thinking about the silver-grey cub you rescued, even as you grew up and found your way to Hogwarts. And when you met Remus Lupin in your first year, with his kind eyes and gentle smile, you had no idea how closely your paths had already intertwined. Over the years, you grew closer—through late-night study sessions, stolen moments by the lake, and endless conversations under the stars. He became your closest friend, your constant, and lately, something more.
Tonight, you’re curled up with him in your dorm room. The other girls are out, giving you the space you’d been craving, and you’re grateful for the quiet. The fire is crackling softly, casting warm light over the room, and you’re lying beside him on your bed, his arm draped around you. It feels safe, like everything else in the world doesn’t matter when you’re with him.
You tilt your head up, catching his gaze, and smile as he brushes a soft kiss against your lips. The gentle, tender way he kisses you makes your heart flutter, and before you can stop yourself, you pull back slightly, looking up at him with a spark of determination in your eyes.
“Remus,” you say, your voice gentle and quiet, “do you… want to be my boyfriend?”
For a moment, he just looks at you, and you can see the warmth and affection in his eyes. But then, something shifts. The softness fades, and he pulls back, just a little, but enough that you feel the sudden distance between you. Confusion floods your chest, and you sit up slightly, trying to read his expression.
“Remus?” you ask, your voice quieter now, worried. “Did I… say something wrong?”
He doesn’t meet your eyes right away, and that’s what worries you most. His gaze drops to the blanket between you, his fingers tracing idle patterns on the fabric, as if he’s trying to find the right words. “No,” he says finally, his voice soft, almost fragile. “You didn’t say anything wrong. It’s just… there’s something I need to tell you. Something I should’ve told you a long time ago.”
You can feel your heart starting to pound, a mixture of anxiety and anticipation, and you reach out, gently placing your hand over his. “Okay,” you say, your voice as steady as you can make it. “Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
He takes a deep breath, his eyes flickering up to meet yours for a moment before looking away again. “You remember the story you told me,” he begins, his voice low, “about the wolf cub you found in the woods when you were a kid?”
The question catches you off guard, but you nod. “Of course I do. I’ve never been able to forget it. I always wondered what happened to him…” Your voice trails off, and your heart aches a little, thinking of that tiny, scared creature you had tried so hard to save.
“I know,” Remus says, his voice tight, like the words are painful to say. “I’ve wondered what happened to him too. Or, at least, I did… until I realized that I already knew.”
You stare at him, trying to make sense of what he’s saying. “What do you mean?”
He hesitates, and you can see the fear in his eyes, the way his hands tremble slightly as he speaks. “That night… it wasn’t just a wolf cub you found. It was me.”
For a moment, the world seems to stop, and you’re not sure you’ve heard him right. You blink, searching his face for any hint that he might be joking, but there’s only seriousness, raw and unguarded. “You…?” you whisper, your mind reeling. “How… how could it have been you?”
“Because I’m a werewolf,” he says, and the words drop between you, heavy and final. “I was bitten when I was a child, and every month, during the full moon, I transform. That night… I don’t know why I wandered so close to your house, but I was hurt, and scared, and then… you found me. You took me home, even when you didn’t know what I was.”
Your heart is pounding, but you’re still struggling to process everything. “Remus, I—” You stop, trying to catch your breath, trying to make sense of it all. “You mean… all this time, it was you? The cub I found… it was you?”
He nods, his eyes glistening, and for a moment, you see that same scared, hurt look in his eyes that you saw all those years ago, when you first found him shivering under that bush. “Yes. And I never… I didn’t know how to tell you. I was afraid, that if you knew what I was, you’d… you’d hate me. Or worse, you’d be afraid of me.”
You can hardly believe what you’re hearing. It feels like a dream, like some strange twist of fate that the little wolf cub you saved all those years ago has been by your side this whole time. But then you see the way he’s looking at you, his expression full of fear, like he’s bracing himself for you to pull away, and it breaks your heart.
“Remus,” you say, and your voice is trembling, but there’s a warmth spreading in your chest, something tender and aching. “I could never hate you. I… I didn’t know, but… it doesn’t change anything.”
He shakes his head, his lips twisting into a sad smile. “I want to believe that, but you don’t understand. If we were together, you’d be putting yourself at risk. I could hurt you, even without meaning to. And people—people will judge you, for being with someone like me. I don’t want that for you.”
“I don’t care what people think,” you say fiercely, leaning closer, forcing him to meet your eyes. “And as for the risk… I’ve seen you, Remus. I’ve seen how careful you are, how much you care about keeping people safe. You’ve spent your whole life trying to protect others, even if it means keeping yourself at a distance. But you don’t have to do that with me.”
He looks at you, and you can see the conflict in his eyes, the way he’s torn between wanting to believe you and being terrified of letting himself hope. “I’m scared,” he admits, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m scared that if I let myself have this, I’ll end up losing you.”
You reach out, cupping his face in your hands, and your touch is gentle but firm. “Remus, you’ve already had me. For years now. I chose you, a long time ago. And I’m still choosing you, even now.”
His breath catches, and you can see the tears gathering in his eyes, but he doesn’t look away. “You’re not afraid?”
“I’m afraid of a lot of things,” you say softly, “but I’m not afraid of you. I’m afraid of letting you push me away when all I want is to be close to you.”
For a long moment, he just stares at you, and you can see the walls he’s built around himself start to crack, piece by piece. Then, slowly, he leans in, pressing his forehead against yours, and you can feel his breath, warm and shaky against your skin. “I don’t deserve you,” he whispers, but there’s a note of hope in his voice, a quiet, fragile hope that maybe, just maybe, he can have this.
You squeeze his hand, your lips brushing against his, “but I’m not going anywhere.”

DAYS UNTIL JAMES PROPOSES: 4
I know it will pass, it’s just heavy. You’re all I know.
There’s something about the noise in your brain as you move around your silent apartment. It overpowers the fear that hasn’t quite left your body after he let the front door fall shut. Being paralyzed in the aftermath of the truth that left your lips…It’s maddening. And you can’t even talk to the person you want to hear it most. You love him.
I do love you (Y/N), just in a different way.
Those 10 minutes were a fleeting moment in the life you’ve shared with your best friend thus far. But now, he’s stopped writing, stopped calling, and you’ve never heard him be so quiet in the past few days after the fact. There’s a knock at the door, and the sound interrupts the way you breathe, dishrag in hand, and James’ sweater still on your body.
I know that, James. I just don't know how to stop.
“What a vision you make, (Y/N).” Remus jokes in an attempt to try to make you smile. He’s leaning against the doorframe as you pop your head through the opening and he slowly moves to follow you into your home. Why does it feel like you have to explain yourself this time? But Remus is deeply understanding in nature, and he opens his arms for you to burrow yourself in.
“Get yourself fixed up. Not taking a no for an answer, love. You’ve been MIA for long enough and you know how Pads is about his birthday. He’ll want you there, broken heart be damned.” Remus is rubbing your back, and you groan.
“Ever the fucking diva.”
His chest rumbles with laughter, but both of you know that you say it lightly. Years ago, when Sirius moved into the Potter’s, it was understood that every birthday was to be as great as he was to his found family.
Nothing has to change, Peanut.
Remus sniffs you lightly, nose crinkling, “Place is spotless. Your turn for a deep clean and then off we go.” A horrified noise leaves your throat as you push yourself out of his embrace.
As the steam from the shower slowly suffocates you, you realize that Remus innately knew the reason for your emotional sabbatical from James and the rest of your friends. You wonder if everyone’s known that you’ve been in love with James Potter, and scrunch your face at how oblivious you both have been. The cold water washes away the grief that’s had a handle on your being this past month. Out of all the pranks they’ve played, this tops it. What a sick joke for the both of you to be left out of.
I think you should go now. Please.
DAYS UNTIL JAMES PROPOSES: 3
All of Sirius’s birthdays are spectacular, but you really can’t fight the hurt crawling up your chest. There are too many memories here at Potter Manor, too many familiar faces asking where you’ve been, and James looks petrified, eyes following your figure around the Manor like you’re a ghost he can’t touch. You walk up the stairs like you have many times over the years, finding a hideaway in the west wing. You and James used to gaze at the stars here.
“So why the hell are you moping on my birthday? No one’s allowed to be sad today.” Sirius grins, breaking the silence as he walks across the balcony to throw his arms over your seated figure.
“Happy Birthday Padfoot.” you smile, leaning up to kiss his cheek. You clink your glass against his as he takes a seat next to you on the bench.
“Trust me when I say you always look stunning, (Y/N) but there’s this look in your eye that you get when you’re around Prongs nowadays. Might I say it’s why you dropped off the face of the Earth?”
Your face instantly drops at his words, and you’re glad he can’t see much in the dim light.
“How long have you all known, Pads?”
“I don’t know about much when it comes to love, (Y/N). But what I do know is that I’m his brother, and you’re his best friend. There’s a lot of responsibility being those two things for someone like that idiot. You love him like humans need air.”
“I just… I don’t know what to do with it.” The elderflower wine glides down your throat, its taste sweet on your tongue. Sirius sits with you, knowing what’s coming next. As an older brother, he also knows you’ve been waiting for someone to listen.
“What do I do with all the love I have for him? Where does it go now that he doesn’t want it?”
“I’ll take some. It sounds lovely.” Peter’s voice almost echoes in the silence as you both turn your heads to see him and Remus in the dim light of the hallway, a bottle of firewhiskey in hand and it makes you genuinely smile for the first time in days.
“Yeah, pass it around. Godric knows Prongs doesn’t appreciate you enough.” Remus says bluntly, and you hit his stomach when he ruffles your hair.
“Honestly, what a prat! Makes you plan his proposal and doesn’t want you at the afterparty? The nerve.” You choke on the remnants of your wine as you laugh at Sirius’s outrage for you, and all four of you are giggling in the dark like idiots as Remus pours you shots. If anything else goes wrong in this life, you’re glad that you have the Marauders to live it with you.
The laughter reaches the hallway, and in walks Lily, who teasingly asks “Did the party move in here without us?” James is as still as a statue behind her, watching you laugh with his boys. He can’t remember the last time he’s seen you happy and acknowledges that he’s to blame.
“You shouldn’t be surprised, Lils. There’s always a party when Padfoot’s around,” you remark, and everyone gets up to go back to the party. Lily looks around as if she’s missing something, then looks at James.
“I’m glad that (Y/N)’s back from whatever’s been keeping her busy. Looks like everything’s falling back into place.” she muses, and James can’t help but watch his best friend, no, his best girl, walk away, thinking that everything must be falling apart.
DAYS UNTIL JAMES PROPOSES: 2
It’s morning now, and a lot of the crowd has gone home or fallen asleep in the many rooms of Potter Manor. You decide to stay to help clean up for Mr. and Mrs. Potter, who were always like second parents to you as well. They had a thing for taking in kids who needed love. With your best efforts, you can’t seem to escape James, who has incessantly trailed behind you into every room you walk into. You dodge him again as you walk down the hall, but James, who has always been a chaser in more ways than one grabs you by the arm and pushes you into his childhood bedroom.
A shriek leaves you as he closes the door and has you up against the wall.
“What the fu—”
“You’re avoiding me. Why are you avoiding me?” his face is panicked as his breath hits your face.
“You told me to leave you alone. That’s what I’m doing now, James. What else could you want from me?” Your hands are on his chest, crinkling the dress shirt that you once helped him pick out at the shops, and you feel breathless, angry at knowing him too well, and angry at what he’s insinuating.
James is at a loss. He loves you. He’s never gone more than a weekend without you and now it’s been ages…. And he loves you. He’s looking at you differently now, in the sunlight that floods through his old bedroom. He loves you so much that it hurts.
His hands slide from the wall behind you, until they reach your shoulders, and trace down your arms. Intertwining your fingers together, James speaks.
“I didn’t mean…” he exhales. “I just…”
“Did you not want me here too? Because unfortunately, my friends are also yours, so maybe we can clarify exactly the terms you want me to follow next time, James.” you seethe, getting in his face.
You push him away, his arms chasing after you, pining for your touch. Your heart is racing with hurt, with anger, with love, all for the man standing across the room.
“Peanut…”
“No.”
“I never want you to leave me alone, okay? It’s been agony without you and I can’t even put into words how—”
“I can, James. How long have I been so oblivious to the fact that I’m in love with you and how long have you just let it happen? You can’t just… please don’t pretend that you don’t know that I’ve been waiting all my life for you to let me fill the empty spaces in your heart.” Your voice wavers as you pull yourself away from him, sitting on his bed.
“Just tell me what’s happening, Peanut. You’ve always had the answers. I feel like I can’t breathe when you’re not there and I….. my heart feels like it’s going to combust… I… I just feel…. so intensely. I miss who I am when I’m with you.”
James throws himself down onto the bed, hyperventilating with his head in his hands. Your hands are shaking as you reach for him. You’ll always reach for him.
He raises his head, as you delicately grab his face into your hands. Your fingertips brush his tears away, loving him for the mess he is.
“My life has been so quiet these past few days and I’m so scared to live life without you. Did I fuck it all up for us?” You whisper.
James licks his lips, and he’s playing with your hair in his hands. Your knees are touching on the patterned bedspread. The space between you diminishes as you realize that he’s about to ruin everything.
Your best friend is going to kiss you.
He’s holding your jaw so gently and for a second, you wonder if this is what it would feel like to be loved by him in the way that you do. With every single ounce of control, you turn your head away from what you’ve been craving most. James’ lips land on your cheek, and he’s chasing after you again, muttering apologies as he looks into your eyes and sees everything he’s been wanting. He sees his whole life with you through the split second your eyes connect. Pushing him away again, you stumble away with a sob.
“What was that?”
“I just… “ He’s gasping for air, feeling like his heart has exploded, and the silence is so loud that he feels like his heart must be in pieces, and you’re picking up the wreckage to take home. He’s in love with you. His heart has always been yours.
“You what, James? Don’t do that!”
He’s lived in a mansion his whole life but Godric, is this room suddenly feeling too small? You get on your feet, stepping away from him and he’s following you.
“Do what?”
“Don’t make me hate you, Jelly. Loving you has been painful enough.” Tears are blurring your vision as you hiccup, and maybe it’s better to not see him right now. Maybe you really shouldn’t have come.
“I just wanted to know. I know now, love, I…” James whimpers at the sound of his nickname. Your nickname for him alone has this man wanting to drop to his knees.
“No. Don’t you know how cruel you’re being right now? To me? To the love of your life? I would never do that to Lily!” Your voice is getting louder by the minute, and James is stoic in his silence, steps away from your blaze.
“But you told me you’re in love with me. Are you saying this is because of me?”
“Everything I do is because of you, James. And if you don’t know that by now…” Then maybe you don’t know me at all.
The words go unsaid but the both of you are hit with the reality of it. Your hands jangle the doorknob to get away from him, to be anywhere but here.
DAYS UNTIL JAMES PROPOSES: 1
Lily listens intently as James tells her everything he's been wanting to say for the last eleven years. She's not surprised, in fact, she knows this is the truth, but she's still heartbroken. Lily Evans and James Potter are both people who like to chase things, people—but after all that’s said and done, the thrill wears off. They’re more alike than they’ll ever know.
He tries to apologize, but Lily cuts him off and tells him there's no need. She's always known the truth, and even though it took him this long, she's glad he finally figured it out. Smartest girl of their year, after all.
“I mean, I always felt like she should’ve been dating you, but then we happened and I fell too hard and didn’t stop to ask questions. I tried to be blind to it, but…it was nice, wasn’t it?” Lily whispers, holding James’ hand for the last time. He looks like he’s about to pass out.
“I’ll be okay, Potter. I was before you, and I will be after you. So thank you for being honest. You’ve always been honest with me.” A small kiss on his cheek renders him breathless. Once upon a time, he would stay up all night at the idea of Lily Evans loving him. But his heart has always belonged to you. Without a doubt, James Potter is in love with you, his best friend.
He doesn’t tell Lily he was planning to propose tomorrow, since the situation is already as messy as it is. But Lily Evans always knows.
JAMES HAS A PROPOSAL
James is pushing boxes back into Potter Manor, and Mippy helps flit the rest of his belongings up the stairs with magic. The least he could do is give Lily their apartment after their breakup. He looks around, rubbing his fingers of dust as his mother calls him for dinner. How humbling, he thinks, to start all over because he was too stupid to realize he’s in love. Starting over in a place he calls home is absurd. He looks out towards the courtyard where you had your fairytale wedding, walks by the hallways you used to race training broomsticks in, and back to his room where he used to whisper hushed lullabies to help you sleep. Everything reminds him of you, and your love consumes each memory that flickers through his vision. The feeling shocks him like ripping your head out of a pensieve. He’s so utterly in love with you.
What the hell is he doing at his parents’ house? He should be getting his girl! James apparates to your apartment, knocking on the door like a madman. He knocks so loudly the wood is bruising his knuckles, red blooming under his touch.
The door rips open, and he’s never been so glad to see you angry.
“You literally have a key, James. You don’t have to be a dick every—”
“You’re wrong.”
Your frustration gives way, lines on your forehead wrinkling in confusion. It’s like there’s a glass separating the both of you, and you’re scared to touch him.
You shake your head as he continues, “You’re wrong, by the way. I don’t know if Lily’s the love of my life. I haven’t lived it with her, nor will I. What I do know is that I’ve loved you for most of mine.”
“What are you saying, Jelly,” you utter, and James’ is grinning so largely you want to punch his face in.
“I love you. As in I’m in love with you. Without any doubt, or excuses, or anyone holding me back, my heart is yours, if you’ll have me?”
He rushes to catch you, his proposal hitting you hard as you fall into his embrace, hands feeling as much of him as you can. His broad shoulders, his strong neck, the dimples on his cheek, the glasses on his face—all of him is in love with you.
Your blubbering is muffled as he finally pulls his lips to yours, finally feeling, finally… James’ kiss lays out all of what he’s been holding in, and without words you both understand that this wreckage in your beating hearts, the destruction of everything you’ve set together as best friends, is love. He’s clutching you to his body, moving you backward into your apartment, feet moving in sync like an orchestrated dance. You both fall onto your couch in a fit of laughter and tears. Finally.
“How foolish of me to be with another, Peanut. I’m a married man, after all.”
"Not bad for a second kiss, Jelly." You laugh at him.
James looks at your smile like it’s the answer to every question he’ll ask in this life.

There isn’t a single doubt that James Potter loves you.
You’ve been attached at the hip since training broomsticks and pinky swears in Godric’s Hollow. You accidentally call a boy ‘Jam’ once because of your childhood speech apraxia, and he swears you’re meant to be his best friend.
“Don’t worry, I can be loud enough for the both of us, peanut!”
Like peanut butter and jelly, you two were a perfect match– and even better partners in crime. When James puts his mind to something, he sees it through. So even if you were honestly unable to string the words together, who were you to say no?
Technically it’s somewhat official too, by whatever imaginary power was bestowed upon the Potter’s house elf for your very elaborate backyard fantasy wedding the two of you had when you were seven. All of your parents were in attendance, along with your cat and you all had blueberry cupcakes after your first and only kiss.
“Miss Mippy pronounces you huzbind and wife!”
Giggles are heard all around as the tiny elf tripped on her way off the stool, knocking both your heads together. James lost a front tooth that day, but he grinned for the pictures your mothers took anyway. Without a doubt, he loves you.
There wasn’t anyone at Hogwarts who would expect one of you to be present without the other following behind. You never had to hold back your smart mouth because James was always willing to finish your fights. The both of you were a package deal, with your number of protectors growing once Remus, Sirius, and Peter came along. It was not a routine you both consciously established, but rather second nature to be in each other’s lives. Like how you always made sure his glasses were clean before quidditch matches and he’d chuck his extra jersey at your face for you to wear.
“Stay warm during the game okay? I’ll see you later, love you!”
He skated around your waist, blowing a raspberry onto your cheek as he grabbed his glasses from your fingers.
“Don’t fall off your broom. Love you too, loser.” You’re already tugging his jersey over your head, inhaling his signature scent of broom polish, cinnamon, and Sleakeasy’s hair potion.
James smiled at you softly, before running to meet up with his team. After Gryffindor won again, he threw you over his shoulder and you laughed and yelled that he smelled like sweat. He always tucked you in his bed after parties, wrapping you in his arms once the lights go out. Without a doubt, he loves you.
Your friendship is stronger than most romantic relationships, and as your teenage years fly by, both of you realize how rare that is. He often took you to the kitchens to eat vanilla sundaes after boys broke your heart (and they got black eyes to match, courtesy of him and the entire Gryffindor Quidditch team) and you would listen to him, building him up and calming him down through years of pining over a certain Lily Evans. You were there for each other through everything, silly crushes, secret trysts, boring detentions, and highly esteemed accolades. If there ever were such a thing as soulmates, you knew it had to be him, even if it was platonic. Just being around someone as vibrant as James made you consider yourself lucky.
You once saw your best friend with his head in his hands on your way to a date—he was moping after a nasty prank on Snape went wrong; it ended in Lily crying and after defending her albeit quite boisterously in true James fashion, he still didn’t get the girl.
He gets up to see you walking down the corridor to meet him halfway, and before you even speak he rubs his eyes, posture shrinking as his towering frame melts into your embrace.
“Don’t know why I thought it’d be different this time,” he mumbles, and you gladly carry the weight of his heart.
“Let’s go swimming in the Black Lake, ” you say suddenly, rubbing his broad back in small circles.
“But peanut, you have a date in an hour! You’re all dolled up and pretty...”
“I’ll have more dates. You need me right now, jelly. I’ve got you.” His nickname makes you blush a little more than you should sometimes, so you only ever pull it out as a trick up your sleeve to make him feel better.
“Love you,” you whisper, brushing through the hair at the nape of his neck.
He breathes easily for the first time in hours, mouth curling up from its frown when he sees you walk straight into the lake water with your nicest clothes on, not even hesitating for a moment. Without a doubt, he loves you.
When James puts his mind to something, he sees it through. So years later, when your best friend asks you if you could go wedding ring shopping with him to propose to the love of his life, who were you to decline? I mean, who else would go with him?
“Come on, (Y/N). I need my best girl with me to make the biggest decision of my life.” he’s practically moaning, the man ever so dramatic as he’s sprawled across your couch.
“And why aren’t you dragging Sirius with you again?”
Your eyebrow is raised as you stand at his feet, lifting his burly legs for you to place yourself under and get comfortable.
“What does Sirius know about women? He’d tell me to get the shiniest one and leave!” James’ yells into your throw pillow, anguished at the thought. You pull it off his face, before he quietly admits, “I just want to get it right.”
“When are we going?” you answer, without missing a beat.
Later that week, the saleslady recommends a wide array of glimmering engagement bands, none of which are for you. But you let yourself fall into the fantasy of the what-ifs, flashing back to your flower crown and candy ring wedding, wondering if it could’ve been you getting proposed to by him in another life.
“Would you like to try a few on?” the saleslady asks, assuming you two are together.
“Show me and my girl your best. No price limit.” he grins.
And how dare she assume that, as he puts his head on your shoulder, whisking you around the store to look at stunning rings, fingers brushing, and the both of you being able to communicate clearly with no words spoken. James plays along with the saleslady, finally choosing a whimsical-looking diamond setting placed upon your left ring finger. You remind yourself it’s not yours. Your heart comes to a screeching halt and you can’t help but feel all of a sudden like he’s being mean.
After all, he’s not yours, not really.
There is a little bit of doubt now and a weird tightness in your chest that makes you think of the possibility that you’re in love with James Potter.
Like a good best friend, you help him plan his proposal. James’ love is loud, pulling all the stops, and preferring the grandest of gestures.
“James, you are not proposing to Lily with a flash mob.”
“But it would be so cool! After all, my heart dances every time I see her face.” he wiggles his eyebrows as he takes a sip of his butterbeer.
“Your heart might, but you, unfortunately, are the worst dancer I’ve ever seen.” You laugh, reaching over to tug the quill out of his hand, crossing it off his list. He pulls you into a headlock, kissing the side of your face teasingly.
“What would I ever do without you, peanut?”
You wipe James’ spit off your cheek, pushing his face away, blushing from his attention.
“Combust, probably.”
Your heart is dancing now too, and you realize that there isn’t a single doubt that you’re in love with your best friend.
You keep yourself busy in the month before his proposal. It hurt learning too many details, such as what flowers he wanted to order to bring out her eyes (pink and yellow tulips), and scouting out the perfect location on the beach he picked (next to the lighthouse you and him visited as kids), even down to how he’d convince Lily to wear white without being suspicious (honestly he just expected you to do him a favor for this one). But after seeing each other almost every day for more than half your life, he knew something was off when you became distant.
James shows up at your apartment, his key in hand, but he decides to knock anyway. The sound of the TV is muffled, lowering in volume until he hears your footsteps pad over to the door and it swings open. You’re in one of his old Quidditch sweaters and fluffy blue socks.
“Hey. Wasn’t expecting you to come by.” You smile timidly, as he leans against the doorframe peering down at you.
“Never used to have to tell you.”
“James...” you stutter, before awkwardly opening the door completely. He shuffles towards the couch, keeping his shoes on as he sits at the end, and there’s a certain tension in the air that frightens you. You’re not sure if you’ll come out of this one unscathed.
“Talk to me (Y/N). What’s been going on with you? You don’t answer my calls, you don’t write back, hell, I haven’t seen you in a month because you started deadbolting your door. Did I do something?”
Yes, James Potter. Ever so blunt and to the point, your favorite person in the world is sitting on your couch uncomfortable with the fact that you’re not comfortable around him anymore.
You fight back against your instincts to tell him what’s wrong, but the three words escape your mouth before you can even take a breath.
“I love you.”
It’s silent. The floor creaks as you shift your weight onto your other leg. You lock eyes with him for the first time that night, and so many things are going through your head that you hope he’s able to pick up on how you’ve been physically aching, carrying the weight of his love for Lily for years.
James looks like he’s about to shake his head, and you beat him to it. You don’t want pity, and he knows that, but he mutters a consolation into the air.
“It’ll pass.”
No, it won’t. Not this.
You think he knows that too. He smiles sadly, watching you turn shrinking into yourself. You never were good at thinking before you spoke. A tear drips down your cheek as you look at your socks again. Your love for him is too big and too loud for your chest cavity to handle. This love feels like dramatic choral music clashing and banging around in your ribs.
“I’m—”
“Don’t apologize. This one’s on me,” you say, stopping him before he finishes speaking.
Without a doubt, James Potter loves you. But he’s not in love with you.
“What I was going to say...is that I’m going to have to ask you not to show up to the engagement party. It’ll be better for the both of us. We can start again from there if you want... Peanut...”
The term of endearment hangs in the air. Your dancing heart was a ticking time bomb after all. The fragments hit your insides, tearing you apart as it combusts, and you realize that nothing will be the same after this.
James stands abruptly, shoving his hands in his pockets. He hesitates before he kisses your temple, and for some reason, this feels like a goodbye. After all, when James sets his mind on something, he sees it through. He’s been set on Lily for years.
You’re his best friend, he swears. And there are no words you can think of to deny that.
The End
“I don’t know what to say,” he said.
“It’s okay,” she replied. “I know what
we are— and I know what we’re not.”

So. Hi again. I'm bored and... so... part 2 ig. Have a lovely time reading.
RECAP: Remus told you that he and James were betting on something.
"Betting what exactly?" I ask.
"Well... nothing too bad-" I cut him off.
"Tell me." I look at him, and he blushes again. I roll my eyes. This boy, seriously. Blushes at everything. He clears his throat.
"Well, we noticed how close you were with Sirius, and James said that he would bet 50 galleons that Sirius told us first that he liked you. I said that you would, and I'm right." Moony said, and he made a face as if he was hiding something. He's so easy to read sometimes.
"Continue." I say.
"What do you mean?" I can tell that he's lying. I give him the mom look, and he sighs. "Fine. I may have also said that you're both intense chickens. And that Sirius is too much of a dick to say anything. And that you obviously love him-"
"What?!? I.. I-" I stutter.
"You love him. So obvious." He says.
"I... um.. no. Maybe. Kind-of." I blush and look away, staring at the very interesting lamp on lily's side table.
"Hm. Kind of? What's that supposed to mean?"
"I mean, he's just.. Sirius. I do love him. So much." I confess. "But, he's so... out of my league. He's smart and handsome, has such a pretty laugh. His smile..." I grin dreamily. "He has such a sweet smile... and he love making people laugh. Everyone i see with him is always laughing at his dramaticness, or a stupid joke he's said for the fifth time that day." I lean back on my bed, my legs dangling off. "He also has a motorcycle and nice hair.... so that adds to the attraction too... but he's just not for me. He doesn't commit, he's been with more girls than I can count, and it hurts. A lot. Every time I see his hands on someone else, wishing he was with me... holding me, it sucks. So much. Why can't he tell I love him? What do I have to do to tell him?" I continue ranting about my love for Sirius, and Remus just sits there. Listening, patiently. He smiles, he didn't realize how much you really loved the Black boy. He frowned, and interrupted my speech.
"How long have you known that you've loved him?" He asks quietly. I look at him. And I think about it.
"Well, to be honest, I've loved him forever. Since we met at eleven on the train, but it was more platonic I guess. I just.. truly can't stop thinking about him. Like ever. Lily's sick of it. Apparently I talk to much about Padfoot... and she doesn't want to hear how soft his hair is again. Or she'll give Cocoa to James. You know, she's really been using that threat a lot.... maybe she hates Cocoa..." I trail off, still yammering about Cocoa and Sirius.
"Breanna." He says softly. I turn to face him, attentive.
"How long have you loved him not-platonically?" His face is really serious, as if it was life or death.
"Well... since, I guess third year, maybe? Its kinda blurred. I don't know when it started... but I made the realization last year that I love him. Is this an obsession?" I ask, not actually looking for an answer. We sit in silence for a while, only to be disturbed by Mr cat lady.
"Remus!!!! Wanna come play chess? I'm going to beat you!!!" James screams up the stairs. Remus looks at me, and I can tell he wants to go kick James's butt.
"Go ahead." I smile, pushing him off my bed. He smiles, and stands there. "Seriously, go!!! Beat his ass!!" I tell him. I start to push him out the door, failing mind you, and he laughs.
"OK ok... I'll go. Are you ok though?" He asks.
"Yes yes. Go already." I continue to try and shove him out the door, laughing. He turns around and give me a quick hug. I freeze, shocked. He chuckles and lets go of me. He leave the room, and calls back,
"Yes it is!!! It is an obsession!!" I roll my eyes.
I go get dressed for dinner, because I somewhat respect people at the dinner table, so they don't need to see the mess I was. I pull on some black cargo pants and my favorite band t-shirt. That i totally didn't steal from Sirius. Nope. Never did that...
I go to dinner and see the whole crew eating. I walk over and get a wiff of the delicious food. And my stomach rumbles as I walk to the griffindor table. Today's Saturday meal, was great. Dessert was better though. Pudding. So much chocolate pudding. I'm sitting in between lily and Remus, opposite of other three. I'm conversing with Peter, and Sirius keeps looking at me weird. And I ignore it. Peter tells me all about his new muggle book, The Princess Bride, and how weird it was. I asked him if I could borrow it, and we chatted for a while about everything. I scarf down my pudding, and James looks at me.
"What?"I say, slightly muffled from the pudding in my mouth.
"Nothing. Just, you could choke on the pudding." He says this way too seriously.
"I didn't know you could choke on pudding..." I say, swallowing. He rolls his eyes.
"You definitely could. Be careful." I make a face at him, and eat some more. By the time I finish my bowl of the chocolate goodness, everyone else is ready to leave.
"So. How about we do games tonight?" Lily asks.
"Like what?" I say, stepping over the bench and tripping. I fall on the ground, and make and exasperated noise. Lily and Remus are laughing their heads off.
"Naners. That's like... the third time you've fallen today!" Lily says in between giggles. I roll my eyes at her.
"Its not my fault. This shit just happens." I mutter, standing up.
"Also, you're like the most uncoordinated person alive. Tripping over things is just as normal as walking to you." Says Sirius. I give him a glare and start to walk away. He makes a 'what did I do' face and walks with me.
"Shes not denying it..." Remus says playfully. I'm about to yell at them, cause I'm just over their teasing, when James speaks up.
"Guys. She is literally the best person I've ever seen with any sort of ball. The catches and tosses she's done with the quaffle are phenomenal, and her reflexes are better than yours Sirius." Sirius looks baffled at this, and I snicker. "You saw her last summer, she beat the both of us at almost all the the quidditch games we played." James looks at me, and he makes the face that moms make when their toddler walks for the first time. Full of pride. I smile at him. Out of all the marauders, he's the most like a brother to me.
"James. We were just teasing her. Lay off." Sirius says, at the same time Moony says, a
"Sorry Naners." He rubs the back of his neck and give me a soft smile. James, however, happens to feel extra protective of me today probably cause of earlier and starts to get mad at Sirius.
"You lay off. She's had a rough day. You don't need to make fun of her."
"Mate, I was just teasing. I didn't mean it badly" He says, rolling his eyes. James raises his voice.
"Well, maybe you should treat her better! Stop being so rude, going off with all these other gi-"
"Maybe." Sirius says, glaring. "You shouldn't have left her this morning. Maybe you should've taken care of her, so that prick wouldn't of hurt her! Maybe you should pay more attention to us instead of pining after lily, or all the quidditch shit!!! Mayb-"
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" James growls. "I was breaking up a fight on the other side of the field. I didn't know that dipshit was gonna try to do that!!" I look at them both, slightly scared as their voices get louder. I start to freak out, tears falling down my face slowly.
"Yeah? Really? I was the one that had to go take care of her. Me! Because your dumb ass left her alone!! And you know what? He probably would've done something worse if I hadn't have gotten there!" Sirius steps closer to James, trying to intimidate him.
James face twitches in anger. "You know what? Fuck you. Fuck you, and all the stupid things you've done. The stupid nights you spent with all those other women while Breanna's was trying not to cry! You hurting the girl you fucking love because your a coward!!!" James turns around and storms off. I watch him walk away, unsure about what to do. Peter and Remus stand there, deep in thought. Lily stands dumbfounded, then quickly follows after James.
"Probably going to shag that asshole." Sirius mutters. I turn, facing him.
"What did you say?" I frown at him. He stutters, not realizing I could hear him.
"I.. uh. Nothing. It doesn't matter." He looks embarrassed.
"Sirius. I... can not explain how-"
"You're not mad at me? Are you?" He asks.
"I'm... not mad... but disappointed." I look at him. He looks, almost sad. "Sirius, James would've been there for me. You know that. I'm grateful you came to help me when you did, but what you just did, yelling at James over the fact that he 'left me' was stupid."
"Breanna... I was just-"
"No. Sirius... I.. just stop." I run my hands through my hair, clearly stressed out. I walk away, leaving him with his thoughts. In all honesty, I never would've thought Sirius would get so mad over this. He is a bit of a hothead, but James is his best friend. They fight like normal, careless bantering... but not this. I continue to walk away, up the stairs to the entrance to the Griffindor common room. I quickly mutter the password, and walk in. James and lily are sitting on the couch, all cuddled up. I smile, glad this finally happened. They're whispering to each other, lost in their own world of staring into eachothers eyes and holding hands. I walk up the stairs to my dorm and get ready for bed. This day had been draining, to say the least. First with Klatwitz, then my confessions of love, and the whole pile of shit that just happened. I clamber into my bed and fall asleep, slowly. I dream of everything and nothing, and for a little while all is well.
The next day, everything goes somewhat normally. James and Sirius are not talking, even though James told me he wants to apologize.
"He's my best mate, I shouldn't have said any of that. I just... he's such a prick sometimes. You know?" He asks me while rubbing his forehead. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"Yes. He is sometimes a prick, but everyone is at times. I understand that he didn't mean it badly, but he also said some horrid things."
"But, Naners, I think I believe what he said." He looks straight into my eyes. "I wasn't there for you, and I left you alone with a guy that I knew was a dipshit... I'm so sorry. I never ment for that to happen.."
"Jamesie. It was not your fault, ok?" I reach over to hug him. "You can't control what someone else did, ok? Its not your fault."
I continue to reassure him, and he seems to understand that it really wasn't his fault. But I can still he feels a little guilty. Lily comes over to us, and James' attention is not on me anymore. He looks utterly consumed by her, and its adorable. I shake my head softly, smiling, and walk away.
Remus and Peter still talk to everybody, but James and Sirius are being, well, James and Sirius. Too full of themselves and dramatic to be the first to apologize.
It doesn't take long for me to get sick of it. Its now a been two weeks since the fight, and their stubborn asses refuse to talk to each other. I can tell that both of them don't like it. Sirius almost broke the other day when he accidentally sat beside James, and was about to speak to him, when he realized who it was. Today, everyone is sitting in the common room, chatting about Peter's new girlfriend, as Remus and I play chess.
"And she has the prettiest hair I've ever seen! And she always smells like roses, and she looks gorgeous in yellow... and.." Peter has been talking about his girlfriend for, maybe ten minutes, about how she's the best. He's honestly so smitten.
"Peter. Its been like, 3 bazillion minutes of you talking about her. Just tell her this stuff." James says as he leans back on the common room couch. Peter looks mortified at the thought of telling her all those things.
"I- no, I um.... just that, why-" he stuttered. James snickers.
"Mate. You've got it baaddd." He says, smirking, making fun of Peter again.
"As if you don't." I mutter. Remus, who is sitting across from me, hears and snorts. I look up at him, and he's holding in laughter. I sigh. Remus always gets the giggles when he's overtired, and the last week hasn't been good for him. His monthly wolfening happened and he hasn't caught up on his sleep, so here we have stupid, giggly Remus Lupin. And it would be fine, except I laugh at anything. So I start to laugh at his scrunched up hold-in-a-laugh face, and he laughs, and now I can't stop. Moony continues to absolutely die from laughter, so much that he almost can't breath. He was trying to calm down, and we were both almost done with the giggle fit, until he stood up to go get a drink. It happened almost in slow-mo, he tripped over the foot of his chair and face planted into the side of the couch. And then he fell on the floor, so... as normal exhausted and caffeinated teenagers would, (mostly me on the caffeine part, Remus only drinks uncaffeinated, sugar free leaf juice), the giggle fit continued a good 15 minutes, because we laugh at each others pain. By this time all of the castle must have heard our... cheerful cacophony. I was physically unwell from it, it was hard for me to catch my breath, and for some reason I thought that was funny.
"Are you done?" James said. He looked, intrigued. Like, he didn't want to tell us to stop, but he also wanted to know what was so funny. Honestly, this boy must be blind if he didn't see Remus fall off the couch, but I guess he needs glasses for a reason.
"Yeah, I'm good. I think. Possibly." My voice is a little raspy. I look over at Remus and he's smiling.
Unexpectedly, Sirius came bouncing down the stairs from the boys dorm. He looked... tipsy. Another person followed after him, a girl from Slytherin.
"Siri, come back! We were having sooooo much fun!" She said, leaning against the wall as if she couldn't stand by herself.
"Not right now, I needddddx some friend timmmmmmmee!" He was definitely drunk, and by the looks of it, so was the girl.
"Siri! Pleasesssee?" She pouted her lips, whining at him. It was now that I realized how stupid that nickname sounded. I would never call him Siri.
"Noooooo-" he trailed off.
"Then I'm leaving!" She made a humph noise and crossed her arms, and started to walk out of the common room. She almost tripped on the carpet, but Remus caught her.
"Hands off- ooOoh. Your handsome..." she said, trailing her finger across his chin. He made an alarmed face and quickly let go of her, backing up.
"I... umm.. thanks." Remus muttered. She looked at him for a little while, then continued to walk away as if nothing happened.
"Well. Remus Lupin. Chick magnet. Never would've thought" James teases.
"Oh shut up. She's drunk out of her mind. So is Sirius. Hey! Sirius!" He called out to where he was sitting on the stairs. Sirius, however, had passed out against the railing and was snoring softly.
"We should cut his hair while he's sleeping." i turn around, shocked.
"James Feamont Potter! Why the hell would you suggest that?"
"Cause he deserves it." he says, shrugging. I roll my eyes.
"No we are NOT doing that. You know how mad he would be if we did that? It would be even worse than when Snivelus put that shit bubblegum in his hair. He would absolutely never talk to you again."
"Well, I find that hard to believe that he would never talk to me again. I'm too awesome for that to happen." James gloats.
"I don't know how the hell you haven't said anything to him. Normally you both chatter our ears off..."
"Yeah, well when your bestfriend decides to say shit like that to me, I'm not going to talk to him." he says this in a playful tone, trying to weasel out of the conversation. He sits up straighter. "Look, I'm going to bed, okay?"
"Fine. 'Night." I mutter, mad he won't talk about it. James walks off, stepping around Sirius, and up the stairs. I look around, and it's just Remus and I left in the room.
"Where'd Peter go?"
"I think he went to see the hufflepuff girl, he snuck off when Sirius came down the stairs."
"Hmm. ok." I looked over at Sirius, his head drooping onto the railing, leaning back slightly. He looked calm, and peaceful. "What are we gonna do about this guy?" I say, pointing to his sleeping body.
"Well, I don't think James would appreciate him back in our dorm..."
"Well, doesn't he sleep there normally?"
"Uh- he actually hasn't. I don't think he's been in the dorm for more than five minutes over the past couple weeks."
"Where's he been sleeping then?" I ask, though I think I know the answer. Remus scrunches his face, looking at me softly.
"I think he's bunked with Frank and Arthur and whoever else in there dorm, they have extra room since Dave transferred to Ilvermorny this year. At least, the past couple days. I did catch him sleeping on the couch a couple times... but the first week after the fight he was in and out of a bunch of girls dorms." he gave me a sorry look.
"Yeah, that's what I thought..." I sigh. "Should we carry him up to Frank and Arthur's dorm?"
"You mean I carry while you pretend to help?" he smirks.
"I can help! I'm fairly strong, there's a reason I haven't died on the quidditch pitch yet." I say a bit defensively, my hands on my hips.
"True. But I don't think we should bring him to the guy's dorm. They seemed kinda sick of him when he walked over to them at dinner today."
"Well, where is he supposed to sleep then?"
Remus's eyes light up, and he smirks mischievously. Oh no. That was the face he made when he told the rest of the mauraders about the idea of the "Dance like a Hippogriff day". (Whenever the words 'dance', 'like', 'a', and/or 'hippogriff' were said on March 1st in 3rd year, any Slytherins in a 12 yard radius would start dancing to the Weird Sister's song Dance Like a Hippogriff, and nobody knew where the music came from. Except Remus. And his stupidly good spell skills.)*
"Maybe... he could sleep in your room. Hmm?" My eyes widen.
"Remus. That- I... I don't want him to be uncomfortable. He probably wouldn't like it."
"Oh the obliviousness of the both of you-" he mutters.
"What?"
"Nothing. It's fine. He probably wouldn't care, ok?"
"But I do, I-" I get interrupted.
"Remus." James says, standing at the top of the stairs.
"What?"
"Can you drink weed? Like... it comes in a bottle like wine right? Cause Lily just said thats not true..."
"Why are you asking?" He looks like he's gonna laugh at James's stupidness.
"Cause. I'm right and lily's wrong. Duh. I just need to prove it to her."
"What weird ass conversation where you having with her?" I ask.
"We were just talking about stuff and I said I need to drink a glass of weed and she laughed at me and said that that was not how it works. As if she would know anyways."
I snort. "James. You smoke weed. Its not like alcohol."
"No. It has to be. Cause why else would I think that you can drink it?"
"Cause your an idiot sometimes." Remus says.
"No I'm not."
I give him a look, and he sighs. "Fine. Sometimes, I can act slightly idiotic."
"More than sometimes." Remus mutters.
"Whatever." James says, and he starts walking up the stairs to lily's room. Their getting along way better than I thought.
A/n. Ok, I know. Weird cutoff for the chapter. But I could care less, I just don't feel like writing more right now, and its been ages since I posted the first part. Lol

Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 661 words
Remus’ breaths are synced with yours, slowing as you both come back down and he rolls off you onto the bed. Your pleasure is spilled like warm honey across the sheets. The sounds you made echo in his head, at first restrained but increasingly candid, Remus’ own body responding in kind.
He hadn’t minded your temperance, but the months of being pent-up in his want for intimacy with you made Remus near mad and now he’s grateful that you’re here next to him, thoroughly spent and, by all evidence, thoroughly pleased as well.
He reaches over to run his hand over your thigh and finds nothing but air.
The bed creaks a second later. Remus turns onto his side as you stand and pull your shirt back over your head. You pull your hair out of the neckline, every movement you make lovely and perfect.
“Hey,” he says. You turn, looking at him over your shoulder questioningly. He imagines he looks much the same. “Where are you running off to?”
Your head tilts to the side, your smile small and fond. “I thought you wanted to go to the store.”
“Yeah, but I’m not in any sort of hurry.” Remus feels, he has to admit, a tad jilted. Nothing in your demeanor would suggest you’re upset with him, but you’ve just initiated sex for the first time and then left his bed like it’s on fire. “I’d rather relax for a while first, wouldn’t you?”
Your brows scrunch rather adorably, as though this would never have occurred to you. “Sure, that sounds nice. You mean, like, put on a film?”
A soft, bemused laugh trips off his tongue. “I mean,” he says teasingly, “do you wanna come here, lovely?”
You go back into his arms like you’re happy to do it. Remus pulls your leg across him, stroking you from knee to hip the way he wanted to, and you get comfy with your face close to his on the pillow. When you blink, your lashes tickle his chin.
“Is this alright?” he asks.
You make a happy sound of affirmation, brushing a kiss over the column of his throat. He lets his hand migrate over your hip to the small of your back.
“Do you always run off after sex?”
You’re quiet for a second, and Remus worries he’s been too abrupt. He slips his other palm beneath your cheek, a silent apology. You say hesitantly, “I don’t think so. It’s just how we always did it, in my last relationship.”
“You both got dressed right after?”
“Yeah.” There’s a note of insecurity in your voice. Remus kisses the space between your brows in hopes of soothing it. “What else do you do?”
He hums thoughtfully. “Well, I’m partial to a long cuddle.” Your laugh is a soft puff of air against his chest. He grins for hearing it. “I don’t know, we can do whatever works for us. Have a shower, eat something, talk. I like this.” He tilts his head, going for the ticklish spot on the side of your neck, and covers your hand with his when you giggle and try to push him away. “What sounds nice to you?”
You sigh, but it’s a happy sound. “All of that sounds nice to me. You usually do that after sex?”
He shrugs. “Preferably, yeah.”
You’re quiet for a beat. “So this whole time I’ve been doing it wrong, huh?”
“There is no wrong, sweetheart.” Remus smears a kiss over your shoulder. “It matters what makes you feel good, though. Is this nice?”
“This is nice,” you agree. Your voice is soft and breathy, a whisper of the sounds you’d made earlier. He knows without looking that your eyes have closed. “I think I’m on board with your cuddle plan.”
He chuckles. “Glad to hear it.”
“Will there still be time for a shower after? I feel a bit sticky.”
“I told you, lovely girl. There’s no hurry.”

It was a Friday afternoon and everyone was all gathered at James’ apartment having a few drinks to kick off the weekend. As the empty bottles started piling up, they got the idea to play truth or dare, courtesy of the deck of cards Sirius found on his way to the flat. They were all still laughing at what Dorcas confessed to when Sirius nodded at James.
“Alright Prongs, you’re next.” he says, practically bouncing in his seat.
James, ever one for theatrics, picks up the deck of cards and shuffles it around before picking a card from the bottom and turning it over.
“What does it say?” Alice asks impatiently.
“Call your ex and ask why it didn't work out and if they’d ever consider giving it another chance.” James says before putting the card down.
Everyone hollers at the task before Marlene manages to calm them all down.
“Guys! Shut it! I wanna know who he’s gonna call.” She says before turning to James. “So? Who’s it gonna be?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Sirius asks, “It’s gotta be Evans.”
“No-“ Alice disagrees.
“Who else would it be?” Sirius asks.
Everyone argues back and forth while James sits quietly, wondering who to call. He knows who he wants to call, but he doesn’t know if they’d want to speak with him.
“This could change everything,” Marlene says, ever the romantic, “This could be your second chance, James. You should call the one you miss the most.”
“The only one you’ve ever really loved.” Dorcas agrees.
“The one that got away.” Alice says softly, a knowing look in her eyes.
“So, Evans.” Sirius repeats, causing everyone to either laugh or roll their eyes at him.
James doesn’t pay them any mind, he continues to stare at Alice, releasing a shaky breath when she nods encouragingly at him. Of all his friends and classmates, somehow Alice was the only one who knew his true feelings. While James assured everyone that he was fine when he and Y/N broke up, Alice had been the one to stumble upon James crying one day. He had confessed that he missed you and Alice had told him that she did as well.
She didn’t think you’d stop talking to everyone else when you guys broke up. She knew you had your own set of friends prior to dating James, but she had hoped that you’d still hang out with them every now and then. Considering that Marlene and Dorcas were already best friends, leaving Alice to be the third wheel among them, she had enjoyed having a girlfriend of her own, and cherished your company. It hurt Alice to see you pass them by in the Great Hall, not even glancing at them, as you made your way to the far end where your friends were.
Alice had tried to convince James to talk to you, to which he always refused, stating that it was done. After a while, everyone got back to teasing James about Lily, putting you on the back burner, and when he and Lily finally started dating, you were all but forgotten; being brought up only in passing, remembering something funny you had done, before moving on to something else. No matter how much time had passed, Alice always saw the sadness in James whenever you were brought up. His smile always seemed dimmer and his eyes filled with longing. Even if James had managed to fool everyone into thinking you were just a girl he dated for a few months, a girl that he was over; Alice knew that was far from the truth. That being said, he picks up the phone with shaky hands.
“Guys he’s calling!” Marlene shouts excitedly.
“Put it on speaker!” Sirius demands, causing everyone to cheer in agreement.
James types the number and presses “call”, nervously bouncing his leg up and down.
“She might not even answer.” he tells the group, though it sounds more like he’s trying to convince himself.
“What if this isn’t even her number anymore? What if she somehow knows this is my number and lets it go to voicemail?” He asks, looking at his friends.
This comment causes most of them to furrow their brows in confusion, wondering who he could be talking about, considering he and Lily still talk on occasion. But if he wasn’t calling Lily, then who?
The phone continues to ring, causing a pit to form in James’ stomach. “I don’t think she’s gonna-“
“Hello?” a feminine voice asks on the other line. The woman can be heard talking to someone in the background, wishing them a good weekend. She gets a chorus of “you too” in return before a door opens and closes shut.
“Hello?” The voice asks again. Remus reaches over and smacks James on the arm, snapping him out of his stupor.
“H-hi, hey!,” James stutters. “Y/N?” he asks, causing his friends to look at each other in confusion. You and James dated for a few months at Hogwarts but they didn’t think it was that serious. Not serious enough for him to call you instead of Lily for this dare. After all, he had spent years pining after Lily, not you.
“…yes?” you ask into the phone. Your voice comes off soft yet confused.
“Hey,” he says again, and then rolls his eyes at himself, “It’s James.” he breathes out.
“Who?” you ask, causing his heart to drop. “Wait, sorry, hold on really quick.”
Everyone hears you fumble with your phone for a bit before your voice rings out again, this time sounding louder than before.
“Hello?” you ask again, checking if the sound is better.
“Hi,” James answers, not knowing what else to say.
“Oh, that’s much better. Sorry about that,” you laugh softly, “Who is this?” you ask again.
“It’s James…” he says with a grimace, half expecting you to hang up on him.
“James…” you repeat, as if you’re in thought. “James from Hogwarts?”
“Yeah…” James answers, looking at Remus who just shrugs his shoulders. James from Hogwarts, he thinks to himself, that’s what she remembers me as?
“Oh shit,” you curse, surprise evident in your voice, “I didn’t recognize you. Your voice sounds so different on the phone.”
Everyone snickers at your comment.
“How’d you get this number?” you ask and immediately, the laughter stops.
“I uh…I ran into your friend Charlotte like a week after we graduated and I asked her for it.” James says sheepishly. He hopes nobody comments on the fact that that’s a long time to have someone’s number and not call them.
“And she gave it to you?”
“Well I say ‘asked’ but it was more like begging,” James admits, blushing as remembers following her around as she did her shopping, pleading with her to give him your number.
“Huh. So what do you want?”
“Just needed to ask you a question, love.” he tells you, the term of endearment slipping out without him even realizing.
“Okay…” you trail off, unsure of what’s to come.
“How are you?” James finds himself asking instead.
“How am I?” you repeat with an incredulous laugh. “You called me to ask me how I am?”
“No, sorry.” James shakes his head, even though you can’t see it. “That’s not the question. But I do want to know.”
“I’m fine.” you say simply.
“Yeah?” James asks, a soft smile on his lips as he talks with you.
“Yeah.” you confirm, wishing he’d just hurry up and get to the point already. “So…”
“Why didn’t it work out? Between us, I mean…” James asks breathlessly, finally asking the question that’s been plaguing his thoughts for the past two years.
“James,” you sigh, “Why are you asking this now?”
“I don’t know,” James says honestly, ignoring the stares of his friends. “It’s always bothered me; not knowing why you broke up with me. But no matter how badly I wanted to reach out to you- to ask you- I just didn’t. I was too scared. But I-I need to know what happened. Can you- from your perspective- can you tell me why we didn’t work?”
“I don’t know,” you sigh, “I just felt like you didn’t love me.”
“What?” James asks, horrified. “Why- how could you possibly think that?”
“Come on,” you scoff, “You know-“
“No, I don’t,” James interrupts, shaking his head furiously. “I-I thought I was a good boyfriend. I thought-“
“You were,” you coo, feeling the need to reassure him. “It wasn’t all bad. You were funny and kind. You were caring. You were patient with me and my short temper and you always managed to make me smile whenever something was bothering me.”
“And your friends,” you sigh, causing them all to perk up at their mention. “They welcomed me into their group with open arms. They never made me feel like an outsider. I-I studied with Remus, I would play-fight with Sirius; Alice and I would have sleepovers all the time and stay up talking and giggling until three a.m.”
“Then…why?” James repeats, even more confused. If everything was as great as you said, why break up?
“I…I’m not an idiot, James. Even though we weren’t in the same circle, I knew about Lily. Merlin, the whole of Hogwarts did. Through the years, I would hear in passing every now and again about you two. I knew you fancied her. I knew she had been the only one you had ever been serious about, which is why I was so confused when you started paying attention to me.”
“Is it so hard to believe that I thought you were beautiful? That I enjoyed your company?” James asks.
“No, but us crossing paths was a chance encounter.” you stress. “We had been taking the same classes since first year, James. But it wasn’t until Professor McGonagall changed the seating arrangement in seventh year that you finally noticed me. Do you remember why I turned you down the first couple of times?”
“You said you didn’t want to cause any problems between me and Lily. But I told you there was nothing going on between us.” James tells you, growing frustrated.
“Yes, but your actions told me otherwise. How many times did I see you playing with her hair, or whispering in her ear?”
“I was talking with her,” James defends.
“You were flirting with her!” you correct. “You were dating me and flirting with her. I don’t know how you didn’t realize it when everyone else in the bloody school did.”
“Do you have any idea what that was like?” you ask harshly. “Having to hear day in and day out for months ’oh, it’s just a ploy. He’s doing it to get Evans’ attention, and I think it’s working. It’s only a matter of time before one of them makes a move’”
“And then I go to you, my boyfriend, for reassurance, and I don’t get any. Instead, my feelings are brushed off and I’m called, what was the word again? Oh, right, delusional. Yes, I loved you, but I couldn’t do it anymore, James.”
“And anyway,” you huff, clearly worked up by this conversation, “This was two years ago, I don’t understand why you’re calling me now asking me why it didn’t work out. If you were so bothered by the break up, why didn’t you say anything?!”
“Because I wanted you to be happy!” James shouts, standing up from his seat. He moves away from the couch and starts pacing the living room, running his free hand through his hair in frustration.
“I feel like we should give them some privacy,” Marlene whispers to the group.
“Shh!” Sirius shushes her, waving her off.
“I loved you so much, I would have done anything for you to be happy. That’s why I let you go without putting up a fight. I was doing what you wanted.” James sighs dejectedly.
“What I wanted?” you repeat skeptically. “What I wanted was for you to fight for me! For us! I wanted you to show me and everyone else at that damn school that I was the girl for you; that I was the girl you wanted! But you didn’t do that!”
“Instead, you went running to Lily!” you laugh coldly, “Just like everyone knew you would!”
“That’s not fair,” James says, sadly. “If I had known that you-“
“That I loved you? That I wanted to be with you?” you interrupt. “What? Would we still be together right now? Married, living in a nice little cottage, a couple of kids running around?”
Beep.
“Y/N-“
“You’re right,” you sigh, “I’m being too harsh. If you didn’t know that, then clearly I wasn’t the best girlfriend either.”
Beep.
“Merlin’s beard, what is that noise?” James asks exasperatedly.
“My phone, letting me know the battery’s about to die. Good timing, too.” you huff.
“You were a bad boyfriend, and I was a bad girlfriend. That’s why it didn’t work out between us. Let’s leave it at that.” you say quickly, rushing to finish the conversation before your phone dies.
“I hope everything works out between you and Lily. Or whoever you’re seeing now. Truly, I do. Take care, James. Do not call me again. I won’t answer.”
And with that the phone call ends. James stands there, in the middle of his living room, staring at the phone in his hand. It’s silent for a few seconds before Dorcas awkwardly claps her hands, getting everyone’s attention.
“Alright, who’s next?” She asks, softly. The fun atmosphere ruined by the heaviness of the phone call.
“You guys go ahead,” James says, making his way towards the door.
“Mate, where are you going?” Remus asks, standing from his seat.
“It’s not over yet.” he says with a shake of his head. “Still gotta ask if she’d consider giving us another chance.” he tells them before speaking into the receiver.
“Hi, Charlotte? It’s James! Yeah, James Potter. Listen, can you curse me out another time? I need Y/N’s address. Why? Well apparently she broke up with me because she thought I didn’t love her. And I didn’t do anything to stop her because I thought she didn’t love me. Yeahhh, so I need her address so I can tell her that that wasn’t the case at all. Brilliant! Thanks, bye!”
Everyone stands in silence, unsure of what to do now.
“Should we keep playing?” Sirius asks.
“Or pack up and call it a night?” Remus adds.
They all stare at each other for a moment before Alice bolts from her seat and rushes to the door.
“I’m too invested in this! I need to know how it ends! James!” she calls, running down the steps, “Wait for me!”
Everyone else is quick to rush out the door, chasing after James and Alice into the night.
[ t i m e s k i p ]
You’ve just come out of the shower when there’s a hard knock at your door. Not expecting anyone tonight, you stand up with a confused frown on your face.
Running your fingers through your damp hair in an attempt to make yourself look presentable, you head towards the front door. The knocking has gone from rapid, consistent taps to a heavy fist pounding against the wood. The door shakes so much, you’re scared it’ll fall off its hinges. With your wand gripped tightly in your hand, you yank it open, only to become more confused at the sight that greets you.
James Potter stands on your porch; out of breath and hair disheveled as he stares at you. Looking past his shoulder, you see all his friends standing on the sidewalk. Sirius, Remus, Peter, Frank, Alice, Marlene, and Dorcas are all watching you as well. Alice has a beaming smile on her face as she waves enthusiastically at you, clearly happy to see you again. You awkwardly raise your hand at them in greeting before turning your focus back to James.
“I know you said you didn’t want me to call you again-“
“So you show up at my house unannounced?!” You shriek.
“And why are they here?” you ask, gesturing to his friends.
“They followed me!” James shrugs helplessly.
“What are you even doing here?” you ask, rubbing your temples in an attempt to rid yourself of the headache you feel coming on.
“To tell you, in person, that I did love you.” James says, releasing a shaky breath.
“….Alright. Thanks for stopping by.” You nod at him. You try to close the door, only for James to push it back open with his hand.
“No, Y/N, listen to me. I’m sorry for whatever I did that made you initially doubt my feelings for you. I’m sorry I was a tosser that didn’t listen to you when you tried to tell me what was bothering you.” James tells you sincerely.
“It’s okay,” you shrug.
“It’s not.” he says with a shake of his head. “I should've told you all this back then, and I don’t know why I didn’t. But I’m telling you now. Yes, I fancied Lily for years but that stopped the moment I met you.”
You roll your eyes at that and James grabs your hands, squeezing them once before continuing.
“I don’t know how you did it, but one interaction with you and I was hooked. Nothing else mattered and nobody else compared. I found myself looking for you in the great hall and in between classes. I’d ask around about you because I wanted to know everything that there was to know about you. I felt an actual ache in my chest whenever you turned me down. It was so bad I had to see Madam Pomfrey about it because I honestly thought I had an arrhythmia.” he says, which causes you to laugh and roll your eyes again, this time in affection.
“I didn’t fight for you then, so I’m fighting for you now. The truth is I liked Lily; but I only ever loved you.”
You widen your eyes and gasp at his confession. Somewhere on the sidewalk, someone, most likely Alice squeals.
“I loved you on that first day, when you shared your inkwell with me after I forgot mine in the dorm. I loved you when you watched all my quidditch matches, even though you weren’t a fan of the sport. I loved you when you hung out with my friends, even when I wasn’t there and when you spent Christmas with me and my parents.”
You bring a hand up to wipe your eyes before placing it back in James’ hold. You sniffle and grin at him, chin quivering as you do.
“I loved you every second that I dated you. I loved you when you broke up with me. I loved you the whole time I dated Lily, which sounds horrible-“ James admits, causing you to laugh.
“But it’s true. That’s actually the reason we broke up.” he admits, “I couldn’t be with her- or anyone for that matter- when my heart belonged to you.”
“I loved you then and I love you now.” James tells you, gazing lovingly into your eyes. “And I need to know if there’s even the slightest possibility of you loving me too? I know I let you down last time. But-“
James doesn’t get to finish his sentence. Having heard enough, you surge forward, getting on your tiptoes to place your lips against his. James immediately brings his hands up, cupping your face gently as he kisses you back. When you pull away, he follows, placing another chaste kiss against your lips. James kisses you all over your face, causing you to giggle before he leans his forehead against yours.
“James,” you call softly.
“Hmm?”
“Look at me.”
“I can’t” he tells you with a shake of his head, forehead still pressed against your own.
“Why not?“
“Because I’m scared this isn’t real. I don’t want to open my eyes and realize it was just a dream.”
“Does this feel real?” you ask, squeezing his hand with your own.
“Yes.”
“What about this?”
Your other hand comes up to cup his cheek. James sighs at the warmth, pressing a kiss to the palm of your hand.
“Yes.” he nods, slightly.
“Then open your eyes, Jamie.”
James takes a shaky breath in before slowly peeking his eyes open. Once he sees that you are in fact, still there, he releases the breath he was holding. James tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear before cupping your face in his hands.
“I love you.” you tell him, cheeks warming at the look of complete awe that he gives you.
James kisses you again before pulling you into his chest, wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug.
“I love you” he whispers into your ear, causing you to smile.
It’s only when Alice squeals loudly that you remember everyone else was still there. You pull back and share a shy smile with James before turning towards his group of friends that have been standing on the sidewalk.
“I guess I should invite you guys in?” you say, glancing at James briefly before turning towards the group again. “I can order some pizza and you guys can fill me in on what you’ve all been up to.”
Alice is the first to run up your steps, shoving James to the side and pulling you into a tight hug.
“I missed you so much!” she exclaims as she makes her way into your home.
Everyone else slowly makes their way inside, either hugging you or giving you a quick pat on the shoulder in greeting.
You’re about to head inside when James pulls you back.
“What? What is it?” you ask, looking up at him worriedly.
“Nothing,” he shakes his head, gazing at you with a soft smile. “Just wanted one last moment with you before we head in.”
You roll your eyes and grab his hand, pulling him behind you as you walk in.
“You’re acting like you’re never gonna see me again.”
“Am I?” James asks.
“Only for the rest of your life.” you tell him, pulling his face towards yours for another kiss.
“Um, enough of that!” Sirius calls out, “I believe we were promised pizza??”

james unlocked the door, a big smile on his face as he had booked a pretty nice airbnb for the long weekend. you and dorcas carried in snacks and drinks to the kitchen as he held the door.
you could hear peter groan as sirius jumped on his back after stretching.
“hey i just wanted to see if you were okay, ya know with regulus being here and all—“
you cut dorcas off with a little laugh, “yeah d its fine, i mean we both have moved on clearly”
dorcas smiled and nodded before rubbing your arm then walking back outside.
moved on was not what you would describe it, regulus was here with a girl he had a met not to long ago, a fling, you could tell by how she acted. it was exactly how you used to act.
maybe he did this to make you jealous and to ruin your time, that was the only justification that went through your head.
you packed the fridge with the food and put things on the counters.
“y/n! where do you want me to put your stuff?” remus yelled, you already knew the sleeping arrangements, you and peter on an air mattress while remus, sirius, dorcas and marlene in a room. james and lily have their own and so does regulus and c/n.
“just put it by the couch!” you yelled as you watched sirius walk in, you grabbed a water and tossed it to him. sirius smiled then looked behind him then looked back at you, giving you an eyebrow raise. a warning sign.
“yeah its up the stairs, second room on the right” regulus mumbled. you watched as she walked up the stairs and regulus stopped to talk to sirius. you could tell he was out of breath from carrying things, you grabbed another water from the fridge and put it on the table before walking to the living room.
to say the tension was strong whenever you and regulus were in the same room was an understatement.
it was getting dark out, everyone was outside while james cleaned the grill for tomorrow and sirius and marlene tried to get a speaker to start working.
you sat next to lily, you both chatting about random topics while scrolling and showing each other different cats at a shelter. you would occasionally look to the other seats and make eye contact with regulus, it only made you wanna roll your eyes when he would at you then at her then back at you. he would get closer to her, having a stare off with you until you looked away.
music started to lighten the tension, marlene had pulled you up to dance with her while she was shit faced drunk. sirius got remus to join in. regulus watched you, thinking that maybe you just didnt care.
the fun ended with marlene throwing up on the other side of the fence and dorcas having to go put her in a bath. mary had called lily to check up on you guys, she wasn’t able to come since she had a wedding to attend.
hours passed and remus was the last to leave living room to you and peter, you sat down on the edge of the air mattress, peter already fast asleep, you had showered before coming to bed and now put on lotion.
the only thoughts you had were of regulus as you started to lay down. you couldn’t sleep a few hours passed until you heard footsteps.
regulus sat on the couch, his elbows on his knees. he cant remember what made him come down here, maybe to get a drink but now its led him here and he cant say he’s mad about it.
“are you doing this to fuck with me? to make me jealous?” you asked in a yelled whisper, sitting on the edge of the air mattress. you made sure not to move too much since peter was next to you with earplugs in.
“what? am i doing this to fuck with you? what are you talking about?” he whispered, his brows furrowed. “you started talking to barty again, what was i supposed to do while you were out flirting with your ex boyfriend?” he added.
“literally what the fuck are you talking about regulus” you scoffed, the last time you saw barty was when you gave him some of his clothes that was still in a box in your closet, it was socks and a few plain white tees but he had messaged you about it since it had his favorite belt and hadnt been able to find it for almost 6 months.
“sirius told me he saw you, how you got in his car and was all up on him, told me all about how you were all giggly and touching his arm, i thought we had something” he argued, making hand gestures.
“we do have something, we always have had something, all i did was give him a box of clothes if i was thinking about getting back together with i would've told you” you whispered, you touched his arm.
“i would never do that to you, regulus i told you everything” you added as a tear pricked your waterline, his head tilted slightly as he closed his eyes and sighed.
you missed him, god you missed him.
“i’m sorry, i should've asked you” he sighed, his hands going to yours. just touching him was like being teased, you missed his hands on you.
you swallowed, you didn’t know if it was the right time and you think he had the same idea.
regulus looked at you, you two were so close, his hair was just the slightest bit damp and he still smelled so strongly of his body wash and shampoo. He wore a plain black tee and sweatpants that was fresh out the dryer.
he leaned in closer, you didn’t want to move more than you already have in case of waking peter.
you tilted your head back as he leaned in more, his lips touching yours. god it felt so good.
your tongue intertwined with his as you two kissed, his hand came to your jaw. you tried to get closer to him. you heard peter groan and you pulled away.
peter rolled over and started to snore.
“cmere” regulus whispered and guided you up and into the kitchen.
your lower back pressed against the counter, as he locked your guys lips together roughly, his hands going up your shirt.
you tried to rub yourself against his groin. regulus groaned into your mouth as he unclipped your bra. he moved around your body until he was able to slip the bra to the ground then undid the knot on your pj pants.
regulus trembled in your grasp as you palmed him, he was getting harder and harder in your grasp. he bit your lip lightly before pulling away.
“turn the fuck around” he panted, his hands moving you roughly and pushing you to bend over the counter. regulus drops to his knees, his fingers slipping down your pj pants and panties.
you could feel his lips on your ass cheek, he bit softly which made you laugh and mumble an “ow,” regulus smile before spreading you open for him.
his tongue met your cunt, making you shiver, your clit throbbed as he sucked slightly. his hands massaged you gently, he did circles around your clit then moved his tongue up and down your vulva.
one of regulus’ hands moved to your cunt, his fingers teasing around your cunt before finally pushing in.
your hand that was gripping the counter went up to your mouth, his fingers were long and soon enough he could fit two in. your legs trembled and you were getting close. minutes passed and then you were on the brink.
regulus pulled away and slowed his fingers. you whined when his fingers left you. you soon felt his lips on the back of your neck. you could feel him press his cock against you, you reached back and slid your hand into his waistbands, he was fucking leaking.
he moaned against your skin as you stroked him, his hand gripped your hand and guided it while the other one held your hip. regulus let go of your hand and pushed his sweats down a bit.
“turn around i wanna see your face” he whispered and let go of you. you kicked off your bottoms before turning. regulus spit in his hand and stroked himself, you watched his chest as he breathed heavily.
you got onto the counter, thankfully it happened to be perfect height.
spreading your legs for him, waiting, you are beautiful.
regulus pressed his tip against your cunt, sliding in as his other hand did circles on your clit. his head tilted back slightly and he bit his lips. his stomach tightened and his eyes closed.
you watched his cock go into you. your hand gripped his forearm.
“youre amazing” he mumbled, looked at you and you leaned in, lips molding together in a fevered rush.
regulus started thrusting, noises caught in your throat, his other hand held the back of your head, guiding it how he wanted.
he started to quicken his pace, his fingers gripping your hair hard. you moaned in his mouth.
a noise from upstairs stopped him, pulling his head away from you and his hand moved to cover your mouth. he slowed his pace but didnt stop completely.
“regulus?” you heard.
he looked at you and then reached to turn the sink on then off.
“yeah?” he said. she stood at the top of the stairs. it was dark the only light being from a nightlight that was next to you.
“you okay?” she asked.
“yeah im just getting a drink and im on the phone with evan, hes having a rough night, go back to bed” he lied on the spot.
“oh alright” she yawned and walked back.
you kissed his neck, nipping at his skin. he started to pick up his pace again.
“im sorry” he whispered, his hands rubbed your sides.
“its okay” you said, you pulled on the hem of his shirt and sucked on his collarbone, leaving a dark mark.
his fingers went fast on your clit, getting you closer and closer.
“i love you” regulus said.
you kissed his cheek, “i love you too regulus” your fingers slipping into his hair.
your brows furrowed as the coil in your stomach snapped. cunt clenching down on him and pulsating. you bit your lips together.
“inside or on your stomach?” he asked hurriedly.
you ignored him.
his eyes closed tightly, “imma need an answer baby quick” he whined.
“stomach” you panted as you came down from your high.
regulus thrusted a few more times before pulling out. your hands went to his cock, jerking him off to the pace he was going before.
he cursed as he came, cock throbbing and now becoming super sensitive.
soon he had cleaned you and himself up and wiped down the counters then you two ended up cuddling on the couch. he whispered in your ear, telling you how he missed you and that you were the best thing to ever happen to him. it was nice, so nice.
you had moved once he fell asleep, getting back to your spot on the air mattress. regulus moved closer to the edge and reached his hand down to grab yours.
“goodnight” he mumbled.

just savin for later
If a scene feels flat and you can't figure it out, ask yourself:
• What can MC smell? Is there an ocean breeze, sweat, a cinnamon roll fresh out the oven?
• What can MC hear, besides the dialogue? Is a bird singing, river flowing, a car speeding, clock ticking?
• Can they taste something, even if they're not eating? Previously drunk alcohol or juice, aftertaste of a cigarette, smog, too instense perfume?
• Can they feel something on their skin? Rough clothes or delicate material, blowing wind, an allergy or a rash, grass that theyre laying on?
• What does the character see, besides other characters? Is the room dark or is sunlight coming in nicely? Are the colours vibrant or dull? Are there any plants?
• What's the weather? Is it snowing and the cold is making goosebumps appear on their arms? Is it hot and sweaty and clothes are clinging to their body?
• HOW DOES IT MAKE THEM FEEL? To any of the above.
Do they like the smell of cinnamon rolls or are they weirdos (I'm a weirdo, I don't fit in).
Does the clock ticking calm them down or annoy them?
Do they enjoy the aftertaste of a cig and like how dirty it makes them feel?
Are they sensitive to touch and how their clothing feels on their skin or are they indifferent?
Would they enjoy the scenery more if it was more sunny out, because they're afraid of the darkness?
Do they like it snowy or are they always cold and hate winter?
Come on, give them persoanlity, likes and dislikes, don't be scared to make them people and not only likeable characters.

So. A fanfic. What have I come to? Lol. Just, enjoy. Or don't. I don't really care. My effort was for your enjoyment, but if you don't like it don't be mean. Anyways, you've been pining after Sirius for.. um, 6 years. Since 1st year. Yeah. Ok. 😬 just read ig also, Cocoa supremacy.
"back off idiots!" I squeal, trying to push them off of me. "I've only been gone for, like three weeks. I don't need to be bombarded with hugs." The four boys still hold tight onto me, and we almost fall to the ground.
"Exactly!!! You've been gone for too long. Way too long. We became grandpas you've been gone so long." Sirius said, hugging me tighter.
"and all of your letters were short. You wrote like two sentences. About your cats vet visit. What happened to Cocoa anyways?" Remus asked. The boys let go of me and I smiled at them. I really did miss the idiots. Peter gave me a shy smile, and James looked at me expectantly.
"What?" I asked.
"Cocoa. What happened to Cocoa?" James asked, slightly worried. I smirk, knowing full well that he loves my cat way too much.
"Nothing big. Just... she got out one night. And a male cat was there. I went to get her... but.... stuff was happening. Anyways, she'll be having kittens soon." I say. Peter gives me a weird look.
"What sort of things?" He asks innocently. I make a face like, how the hell do you not get it, and Sirius whispers in his ear. Peter blushes and covers his face. I laugh, and James pats him on the back, shaking his head.
"So. Like. We'll have kittens in the dorms?" James says. " you're not giving them away, are you? If you are, I'm taking them all." He smiles dreamily. I roll my eyes. I walk into the common room, and it looks comfier than ever. Damn. I missed this place. The worn down couches in front of the fireplace, the couch that nobody sits on because its deemed the shagging couch (Sirius named it. We caught him with ravenclaw girl on that couch. Twice. It was disgusting). Aah. This place is great. The boys moved into the common room, and sat on the non-shagging couch, talking about quidditch tryouts. Well, James and Sirius were. Remus was nose deep in a transfiguration book and Peter had all his attention on a random bug on the ceiling. And just like that, after three weeks, things were finally normal. I missed the sorting ceremony last night, because my trip lasted a bit longer than I thought it would. And I slept in... so. Yeah.
The beginning of the summer I spent at the Potter's, with Sirius.
It was lovely and chaotic. Euphemia and I were in the kitchen making cookies when the boys run in, attacking each other with what I think is part of a closet door handle, and a rake. James had the upper hand with the rake, until Euphemia scolded them for bringing the rake into her clean kitchen. They both walked out, sulking. I brought them some cookies, and their eyes lit up. What food does to teenage boys. You'd think the cookie was one of their best friends, not me. This happened on the last day I was there.
I left that night, and went to visit my family. And I do love them.... but they can be a bit overwhelming. I would much rather hang out with the marauders than my family. It may sound bad, but we just clash. My mother and I get along swell, but father and I are almost the same person, and we are both very stubborn and are always butting heads. He doesn't like that my friends are boys, and thinks they're all into me, which is far from the truth.
James is absolutely in love with Lily, and it will not stop. Lily this lily that. Its sickeningly sweet. Peter has a crush on a hufflpuff girl, and he is just too sweet about it. Remus has been dating a ravenclaw girl named Clarice for, I think, three months now. We were all shocked when it happened, he normally doesn't talk about girls in that sense. But all of a sudden, he get flushed whenever she walks by and we knew he was a goner. With some, persuasion... we got them to go on a date together. And they've been going steady ever since.
And... Sirius. What do I say about him. He's always been a flirt, but recently he started to, bring girls to his dorm. I mean, its not that I'm jealous. He's a lovely guy and he deserves a lovely girl. I just wish he wasn't changing which girl it was every night. And making out with every female in the castle. It's gotten so bad that he missed one of Remus's monthlies.
I yelled at him for a long time. He felt really bad, and I felt really bad that he felt really bad. I hugged him and told him to never do it again. His arms wrapped around me, and I buried my face in his chest. I felt, a sense of calm and relief. He held me tighter, and rubbed my back, his hands drawing circles along it. Thats when I knew. I love him. And I was totally gone for this man. And I panicked. I pulled away, and he looked startled. I quickly said goodnight, and walked into my dorm that I shared with Lily and Dorcas. I laid down on my bed and thought about him for way too long. His dark hair, his tattoo across his chest. His muscles that weren't too big, perfect cuddling size. His gorgeous eyes, and his smile that I craved to see. His laugh. I love his laugh. So much. And I was going to tell him. But, I walked into his room and he was making out with a girl, his hands up her shirt. I walked out. I cried a lot that day. It was a couple weeks before summer vacation. I decided then that I was going to leave it alone. I went on some dates, but I never felt anything. They were always too kind or had too short hair or an annoying laugh. I would complain to Lily. All the time.
"Maybe... you know, it could possibly be... because non of them are Sirius. James and I were talking, and I think that you love him. The way you look at him is... just from a romance novel. Even James can tell, and that means something." Lily said after classes one day when I was complaining. It was a cold day, and I was supposed to be getting ready for quidditch tryouts, but I wanted to delay seeing Sirius in his quidditch uniform. It always looked so good on him, and I don't know how I would handle it.
"Yeah, James is an idiot. If he figured it out then tha- you talked to James?!?!? Since when do you willingly have conversation with him?!?!" I sat up on my bed, almost shouting.
"He's not that bad..." Lily trailed off.
"I've been saying he's not bad for years. And you say this now??!! Omigoodness!" I say in realization.
"What?"
"You like James. What the hell. This might be the best thing in the world!!!!!" I start to jump around.
"No I dont!!! I just said he's not that bad. That doesn't mean I like him." Lily made a face at me.
"The guy you've said you have hated for years, is not that bad?!?! Thats a major crush!!!"
"NO ItS NOT!" Lily shouts at me.
" YES IT IS!!!" I shout back.
We continue for a while, her saying no and me saying yes. I looked the clock, and sigh. I have to get the uniform on and go to the field. I get dressed, and our banter is still going on.
"You're never going to give up, are you?" Lily asks, looking defeated.
"Nope."
"Fine. Imightlikehimalittlebit. Justatinybit..." she mumbles.
"What was that? Couldn't hear your mumbles." I smirk.
" i like. James Potter. A little bit." She says this last bit as if it counts. All I heard was that she likes James. And I squeal.
"Lily. This. Is. Sooooo awesome!!!! We have to tell him!!!!"
Her eyes widen initeral fear. "No. Do not. I will steal your cat in your sleep and give it to James. I will... rip the cover off of one of your books... I'll... I'll-"
"Jeez. I was kidding." I feign a look of hurt. "You'd give my dear sweet Cocoa to that idiot?!?! And I can actually not believe that you said that you'd rip the cover off my book. Thats first degree murder!!! How could you!!!" I gasp, being overly dramatic. She rolls her eyes and laughs.
"OK. I actually would never rip the cover off of a book. They are wayyy to precious. And expensive." Lily says.
"So you would actually give Cocoa to mr cat lady? I'd never see her again." I glare jokingly at her.
"fine. I wont." I hug her.
"Thanks. Cocoa would die if James was her mother. He smothers her in kisses and hugs enough already. I gotta go. Tryouts started... two minutes ago. Shit." I give Lily one last squeeze and run out the door, my broom in hand.
"Good luck!" She yells as I run out the entrance to the common room. I run all the way to the field, and make it. Quite late. I look around, and they haven't started yet. I run up to James, who is waving me over.
"Whats up? Why haven't you started the tryouts yet?" I ask, breathless from the running.
"Oh. Well, as captain," he says smugly, " I can change the time of when we start. And Sirius is late. He's supposd to help me choose the team. But, I'm glad you could make it Naners." I roll my eyes at his use of my nickname. A few of the guys standing around us laugh, and one of them makes fun of me.
" so... pretty girl. Naners." He smirks, and walks closer to me. Some boys are wrestling on the field, James rolls his eyes and runs over to break it up. "How do you say, wanna go to my dorm later? We could... have some exercise." He reaches out and touches my arm. I scowl and pull away.
" excuse me?" I say, baffled that someone could be this outright and disgusting.
"You heard me, pretty girl." My stomach twists from him calling me that. Pretty girl was a nickname that Sirius called me. Only a couple times, but still.
" go away. I don't even know you." I back up. He grabs my wrist.
"Aaron. Aaron Klatwitz." He smirks. "And, we can get to know each other. Spend some time, alone." I pull away, and I glare at him.
" i think you should stop. Go away." I say, trying to be calm.
He makes a face, like he can't believe I'm turning him down. He smiles and reaches for my hand, a little rough.
"Naners. I'm sure you want, all of this." He motions to his body. I try and pull away, but I can't. His grip is tighter than before. I start to panic, and I look around. The rest of the people trying out are watching James stopping the two boys from fighting. I'm all alone. I try to pull away harder, and my breathing gets faster. Suddenly, someone comes around and pulls him off of me.
"Get your hands off of her. Breanna is not your to touch!" The guy says, his voice deep and rough. It takes me a few seconds, but I register this person to be Sirius.
"Look, I was just asking her to hang out. Not much was happening." Klatwitz says.
"Lier." I mutter. He glares at me. Sirius looks back at me, his gorgeous eyes staring into mine. I smile slightly at him. He turns around.
"Dude. If anything, she came onto me. She just wants a piece of the action." Klatwitz gives me a smirk, and I make a face like I'm about to puke. He glares again. "Surely you understand. Sirius." Sirius looks at him, like he is going to kill him.
"What do you mean?" The gorgeous boy says, glaring daggers at Klatwitz.
" i mean. All the hoes that throw themselves on you. Just looking for a quicky. A quick fuck before they go to the next guy." he says this so nonchalantly, that I think he's serious.
"What the hell?!?" Sirius says." Are you calling her names now?" His body stiffens. To be honest, I wasn't even thinking about him calling me that, just the fact that he treats women like shit.
"Come on. You get it. I heard you have girls in your room every night just so you don't have to think of the girl that broke your heart. Thats a quick fuck."
Sirius's face turned to me and quickly back to the dipshit. He punched him. I let out a gasp of surprise, and he kept punching. They are both fighting, and Sirius pushes him to the ground. He climbs on him and will not stop punching. Klatwitz flips them over, and soon Sirius is covered in his own blood. I freak out, and see James rush in. He pushes Aaron off of Sirius, and punches him. Once. Probably just to get him to stop, but both Sirius and Aaron are covered in blood. I rush over to Sirius, who's trying to get up and beat up Klatwitz again, but I hold his arm, tugging gently. I have tears running down my face. He looks surprised. I manage to stop my tears, and pull him away from the scene. I walk him back to the castle in silence, and he slides his hand down to hold mine. I smile.
"Your really stupid." I say, not looking at him.
"Stupid for beating up a guy that was harrassing you? If thats stupid, I better be stupid till the day I die." He says, his voice sending shivers up my spine. I walk up the stairs to the castle, my hand still in his.
"Yes! Siri, you could've gotten hurt way worse." I look at him as I pull him down the hallway to the hospital wing.
" Breanna. We can't go to the hospital wing."
"Why?"
He takes a deep breath. "Madame Pomfery said if I go in there again because of a fight, she'll tell Minnie, and then I'll get kicked off the quidditch team." He gives me a pleading look.
"I would like to know how many fights you've been in, but that doesn't matter right now. I have so bandages and muggle first aid. But it'll hurt for longer" I say, looking up at him. He looked at me, his eyes almost transfixed on me. He was a bout to say something, but James ran in.
"Padfoot!!! What the hell was that?!?!"
"He was being a dick." He muttered
"That doesn't mean you punch the lights out of him!!!! And now we have to reschedule tryouts!!"
"James..." he said, tiredly.
A look of concern came across his face, and he looked to where the blood was dripping down his face. "What?"
" he was harassing Naners. Like..." he sighed. "It was disgusting the things he was saying. I'm not going to repeat them." His hand tightened around mine, and his thumb rubbed the back of it.
"Oh. Shit. Breanna, are you ok?" James has a very worried look on his face now.
"Yeah I'm fine. The insufferable prick just wouldn't leave me alone." He made a face of realization.
"Holy shit. I'm sorry. I left you with him, I didn't think that would happen. I thought you would be ok....." he wrapped his arms around me, and I sunk into the hug. I let go of Sirius's hand, and I swear he glared at James. I hugged him tightly.
"James, its not your fault that he's a prick. Ok?" I whisper, trying to console him.
"I know. But I'm responsible for leaving you. He won't ever be allowed near you again. Ok? I'll make sure of it." He let's go of me, and I hear Lily come down the stairs. She looks at my tear stricken cheeks and James arm wrapped around me.
"What happened?!?!?" She runs up and hugs me.
"Umm... I.. "
James looks at me knowingly.
"I can tell her. You should go find Sirius."
I look around, and I realize he left. "OK." I pry myself away from Lily's death grip, and walk up the stairs to the common room. I hear lily say "what an asshole" to something James said, and I smile. I agree lily. I agree.
I walk into the common room, after talking to a slightly drunk fat lady, and look around. I don't see him, anywhere. I walk up the stairs to his dorm. I knock on the door, nobody answers so I open it. Lo and behold, Sirius is making out with a hufflepuff girl, and I scowl. My eyes brim with tears again, and Sirius looks up at me. He looks confused.
"Sirius. What the fuck is wrong with you!!!!?!?" I yell. I run back to my room, and slam the door. I lock it. Lily can sleep on the couch tonight. I sob into my pillow. That fucking idiot. I mutter. I cry for a long time. Lily knocks on the door, and I tell her to go away. She leaves me alone. I evtually fall asleep. I hear another knock on the door.
"Go away lily!!!" I shout.
"Its not lily." A males voice rings through my ears.
"Remus?" I say quietly.
"Can I come in?" He says calmly.
"Yeah.... I guess so." I get up and unlock the door. My face is puffy and my hair is a mess. I'm wearing sweatpants and a hoodie that I stole from sirius last year. And even though I look like I just died, Remus smiles at me.
"How are you Naners?" He asks.
I look away. "I'm fine."
He raises his eyebrow, questioningly. He reached over and hugged me. Thats all it took for me to break down. He kissed my forehead, platonically, and said it'll be ok. I calmed down, leaning into him.
"Your really the best friend I could ever have." I say, my chin resting on his shoulder.
"I am the greatest." He jokes. I roll my eyes.
"So." He says seriously. " whats up? Why did you run out crying?"
"You saw that?" I say, wiping a tear away from my face.
"I ran into James, and he told me what happened. But then I saw you run out of our dorm crying. What happened? Sirius keeps saying he doesn't know whats wrong."
"He was being an asshole." I mumble.
"He always is. But what did he do this time?" Remus looked at me. I back up, out of the hug and sit on my bed. I pat a spot beside me, and he blushes. I roll my eyes.
"Don't be stupid." I say. He laughs and sits beside me. Remus isn't normally very touchy, but I always want to be, and I can tell he's trying to be nice. He wraps his arm around my shoulder, and I lean into him.
"You normally don't let me this close, only Clarice is allowed." I say.
" well, my best friend has been crying, and even though I don't like it, I will hold her." He says softly.
"You don't have to. I'm fine." I say.
"Don't lie."
" I'm not lying. I know you hate cuddling or hugging of any sort with me. And its fine. You have a girlfriend."
He rolls his eyes at me. "Breanna." He says, as if he's about to rant. " I am really uncomfortable. Like, I can handle you hugging me before vacations and stuff... but this is weird." I giggle, and pull away from him.
"Sorry" he mumbles.
"Its all good." I say, even though I'm a very cuddly person, I respect him.
"So. Talk to me. Whats up" he says.
I take a deep breathe. "You can't tell anyone, ok?"
"Maybe. It matters what it is."
"Ikindamaybelikesirius... andigotjealouswhenisawhimkissingthatgirl." I say quickly.
His eyes widen, and he smiles. "Actually?"
"Yes..." I look away.
"Breanna. Thats awesome!"
" that I'm jealous of him with other girls?" I say.
"Well, yeah. I'm glad you told me. I had my suspicions, but at least now I know James owes me fifty galleons."
I give him a look, and he blushes.
"We may have been betting on you two...." he rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Betting what exactly?"
