I'm begging the universe to give us more seasons so they can adapt the Tale of the Body Thief and adapt that Loustat scene where a human Lestat begs Louis to turn him into a vampire and become his maker. Even Jacob wants to adapt it:

I would love to get a scene in S3 where Lestat talks about how he wanted to tell Claudia as much as he knew about their vampiric origins, but couldn't because of the threat of the Ancient Ones/Marius loomed over him if he talked about what he knew; putting them all in danger. It's so heartbreaking. Claudia wanted to know so much about their history and he sat there knowing he had not only met the First vampire - and had her blood in his veins - along with the other Ancient Ones and he couldn't say anything.

The iwtv fandom has become way too comfortable with how they talk about (and to!) the cast/crew of the show.

The way people were recently speaking to Lin Codega (a trans person) who works in the writer's room was disgusting. The way people have been discrediting Jacob's opinions and feelings about his character by saying he's not allowed to speak on his own character (!!). The way people were asking Jacob in his recent tweet if he let Sam fuck him. The weird ass questions that people asked Sam in preparation for that Michael Lucas interview. The way people have talked in a negative and gross way about the cast aging, specifically Assad and Sam. The uncomfortable comparisons between Delainey and Bailey. The gross colorist comments about Jacob, Delainey, and Bailey. The pervasive transphobic/terf rhetoric (e.g. saying someone with a body/face like Sam could never be a trans woman. How tf do you think the trans people in this fandom feel!? This is terf rhetoric!!) when talking about the cast's appearance. The constant Sam hate and lies (people have literally called him an abuser because of the character he plays!!) and now the literal stalker behavior with trying to look into his family tree because they hate him. Fucking psychotic. And the way people speak about/to the people that get close to the show like Autumn Brown interviewing the cast/crew. The list goes on and on and on.

This cast/crew deserves better than this fuckass fandom.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE 1.02 › After the Phantoms of Your Former Self

It's wild to me, because Lestat even says:

"When you sentence them for their crimes, you sentence me too."

If he wanted to be there and wanted this trial to happen, why would he have said they should sentence him too?? People are just being purposefully obtuse because they hate him. It's tiring.

Adding to that last post, I never understood how people couldn't see that Lestat didn't want to be at that trial. I thought it was clear just from the shot of him in the dressing room. Then there were so many clues during the trial that Lestat was not in control, both in Sam's performance, and his interactions with the other characters. We also see his look of horror when Claudia dies, and we learn that he is the one that he is the one who saved Louis. We also have the flashback to the rehearsal where we see how angry he is about this trial. "You have no idea of Claudia's strength!" What more do people need?

Yeah, I know.

The thing is that certain subset will never see the show as anything other than Lestat The Big Bad™, and that’s just how it is unfortunately thanks to the skewed portrayal from S1.

You could have every single character break the fourth wall and turn to the camera to literally spell out what is happening and that it’s not on Lestat, and there would still be those idiots screeching “lEsTaT mAniPulAtEd tHEm iNtO sAyInG tHaT!”
