Just a heartbreaking reminder that Smoke follows through on his promises, too.
When Annie makes Smoke promise to free her before she turns, he looks down at the thrown bones—unsure of what they mean—and asks, “What you mean, free you?”—flinching when Annie takes the stake from him and presses it to her chest, right over her heart.
Although her fate is already sealed—and she’s made peace with the thought of joining their daughter on the other side—Smoke, ever the protector, still assures her: “I’m going to make sure you get home safe.”
And Smoke does. He stakes her after she’s bitten by Stack—keeping his word by not letting her turn, and making sure she gets home safe. Not to the home they once shared, but home to the ancestors—home to their daughter.
Let’s not forget that when Annie reminds Smoke of their promise—he doesn’t hesitate, he doesn’t question her, he doesn’t ask if she’s sure. He just tells her that he loves her. She doesn’t have to pull those words out of him this time—he gives them freely. And in doing so, he frees them both.
It’s admirable that, even though it breaks his heart, Smoke loves, trusts, and respects Annie so deeply that he chooses to honor her final wish.
I pray that we’re all blessed enough to find a love unselfish enough to follow through—even when the asks are hard.

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

What’s the point of anything
Like fr we’re heading headfirst into a recession and facism and nobody in power seems to care. We’re all just pawns in a machine moving to make sure the rich get richer and we struggle

If you use Duolingo, maybe don't anymore? The company is moving to be "AI-first" and is using AI to generate their content. Meaning, AI is now generating your language lessons.
They announced that they were going to use AI for this a while back but now they're annoucing that they're getting rid of the contractors reviewing the AI generated content. So, very soon Duolingo is just going to be AI generated slop that might not even be correct.
For alternatives, I'd recommend checking with your local library. For instance, mine offers Rosetta Stone for free if you have a library card.

I started and finished The Pitt and I have to say that in comparison to all other medical dramas (Chicago Med, Grays Anatomy, Night Shift, New Amsterdam) it’s definitely the most realistic take on what it actually is to be a healthcare worker and I felt the scenes were very realistic and it felt very much like we were in the hospital with them.
That said, I didn’t like the format of it going hour by hour and we’re watching their shift progress with them. It felt like it would’ve been better as a movie or it had been spaced out over multiple shifts.
I think they had a lot of interesting characters that we just can’t get more info and depth on because in the show there’s no room for them to reveal that information.
The only character we got depth with is Dr Ronny, which makes sense because he’s the main character but still the only real way they add depth is through flashback scenes.
I think it’s an interesting concept, I’m excited to see what they do with Season 2 because it didn’t really feel like there was much to go on with how it ended

✨Chicago PD Thoughts✨
Circa season 12
I’m about halfway through season 12 and I LOVE how this season is going. I love how each episode is giving us more character building and fleshing out their relationships with each other and as a unit. I do wish we saw a little bit more of burgess and Atwater especially since they were like the original duo and I feel like they should be better of friends then Kevin and Ruzek
Speaking of ruzek, the first episode with Martell and her dying in his arms was such good acting! I really liked that entire scene.
I like Kiana, but I’m not sure how long I think they’ll keep her. If she ends up staying for another season then I’ll decide more thoughts lol.
Now for the two showstoppers, Kim Burgess and Dante Torres.
Kim and Dante’s relationship of mentee/mentor has been SO WELL WRITTEN. Kim covering for Dante?? I wasn’t surprised she’d do that but I was surprised it took them longer to get started on covering it up lol.
I think it’s really interesting the way that each episode it feels like someone is hiding something from Voight, but little by little it’s all coming out and I feel like it’s going to be a callback to one of the earlier seasons where he talks about, “you don’t lie to me, you tell me the truth so I can lie for you”

Finished season 9 of Chicago Med
I liked Zola, but she consistently made bad decisions and so I’m not surprised she’s gone. That said they made the comparison early on of her and Will Halstead and I think it’s ironic that he got away with so much and when she does similar stunts she gets canned.
That could be attributed to the live and learn aspect of them realizing they don’t want another Halstead but I suspect ulterior motives.
Altogether good season but def not my favorite

@soldier--of-love I finished season 12 and I have to admit that it’s probably my least favorite Chicago Fire seasons.
The Brett/Casey storyline has always been so strange to me bc wdym that she’s dating her best friends ex husband?? Even tho Gabby left him I still can’t fathom it and also I could imagine dating my ex wife’s best friend? Like what?? That said I thought their wedding was super cute and Tony is by FAR my favorite character
I really like Novak and I’m sad that Boden is leaving

Just finished episode 17 of season 11 and I have to say that I really liked the arc into Herrmanns life. He’s such an interesting character and it’s been super interesting to learn about him and give his character more depth.

✨ Following my series on Chicago Fire ✨
I’m now on season 11 episode 12 and I’m confused on the deal with Carver. I’ve been getting a weird vibe from him since he came in with how he watches and interacts with Kidd and now with him saying Severide’s a lucky man when referring to her is very weird.
