❗️‼️ PSA: INFO IN THIS PIC IS FALSE ‼️❗️
Well, very misleading, at least.
‼️REBLOG TO SAVE LIVES‼️ ‼️DO NOT DELETE THIS TEXT‼️ ‼️THIS PIC IS DANGEROUS WITHOUT IT‼️
You can die from cardiac arrest at ANY BMI. Obese, overweight, normal, underweight, AND severely underweight. ANY weight.
Do you know how many eating disorder sufferers, who outwardly appear fine, DIE from going into cardiac arrest? A LOT.
Here’s one thing, for example. Ever heard of electrolytes? You know, stuff like potassium? Sodium? Calcium? Magnesium? Yeah. Your heart relies on a certain balance of electrolytes to function properly. If the levels are too low, or high, it can throw off the electrical impulses within the heart and cause arrhythmias, AKA you can DIE.
One reason why staying hydrated is so important! Dehydration messes up your electrolytes! Working out… Not eating/drinking enough… PURGING… All contribute to dehydration. (With that being said, don’t drink too much water either, as that messes with levels too.)
Simply google something like “eating disorders and cardiac arrest” and read that shit.
No matter what size you are, if you have an eating disorder, you are NOT protected from death.
I repeat…
NO MATTER WHAT SIZE YOU ARE, IF YOU HAVE AN EATING DISORDER, YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED FROM DEATH!!!
“If you want to stay alive, stay over 15.” ??? Give me a damn break. How about this— if you want to stay alive, get HELP before it’s too late!
PLEASE SEEK HELP IF YOU HAVE ONE, OR IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE ONE.
‼️REBLOG TO SAVE LIVES‼️ ‼️DO NOT DELETE THIS TEXT‼️ ‼️THIS PIC IS DANGEROUS WITHOUT IT‼️
Since some people are being so goddamn annoying and think I don’t understand that being severely underweight dramatically increases the chances of this happening— MY POINT IS THAT THE POST IMPLIES YOU ARE NOT IN DANGER UNTIL YOU’RE THAT THIN

How to STOP binging
I used to struggle a lot with binging, but have been able to stay binge-free for a month now. There’s no guarantee I’ll keep it up, maybe I’ll binge a day here and there, but at this point I don’t see myself going into another binge-restrict cycle. So, here are 20 tips and tricks for how you can stop binging as well. If I can do it, so can you!
General tips:
1. Don’t keep junk food in the house.
2. Make a budget for how much money you can spend on food per week, and only keep that amount on your chequing account/cash in your wallet. That way you can’t just spontaneously go out and buy binge-food.
3. Remember that you will NEVER feel good after a binge. If you’re eating to make you feel better, I promise you that won’t happen if you binge. You’ll feel so much worse.
4. Binging always leads to: guilt, hopelessness, shame, embarrassment, self-hate, and it might trigger purging, self-harm or trying to compensate with laxatives and/or over-exercising.
5. Don’t bring money to school/work so you can’t buy binge-food on your way home.
6. You will never hit a target you’re not aiming at, so when you binge, you’re deliberately missing your goal of losing weight.
7. If you’re hungry, eat something. It doesn’t have to be a binge.
8. Don’t restrict after a binge! That will only keep the cycle going. Eat normally the day after a binge.
9. If you struggle with binging, don’t do fasts longer than 16 hours.
10. Always plan exactly what you’re going to eat for each meal.
Things to do when you feel like binging:
1. Go for a long walk and don’t bring any money.
2. Drink green tea (or any tea). It’s warm and nice and it fills you up.
3. Put on tight/short clothes. This really helped me because when I wear sweats when I’m chilling at home, I don’t realize how fat and gross I am. Putting on something tight makes me not want to eat at all.
4. Lie down, close your eyes and listen to your favourite upbeat song (something that makes you happy). Listen to the entire song with your eyes closed, and focus on your breathing.
5. Take a bath or shower.
6. Look at thinspo.
7. Put on some fun music and dance around in your room.
8. Call a relative or a friend with whom you always talk for a long time.
9. Chug water.
10. Count all the calories of what you’re planning to binge on. I’m sure you don’t want to eat all that now.

How not to die ED edition
Just a list of things that help me go on with my daily life while having an ed
Vitamins
Okay hear me out. Headaches? Multivitamin. Muscle cramp? Potassium and magnesium supplements. Hairloss? Biotin. Those have literally saved my life.
Water, coffee and tea
Yup, we all know how staying hydrated is important, but letme tell you how these have helped me. Constipated? Gross yeah but let’s face it, we all are. Coffee is a great help, I usually had some stevia and a bit of cashew milk, bc screw it I’m not gonna torture myself with black bitterness when I can actually enjoy it with only 5 calories. Same goes for tea. Peppermint: cravings, bloating, digestion. Green: metabolism booster, also supposed to help your imune system, your bones and your heart. Black: metabolism, gut health and other shit. I mostly drink peppermint and this shit stops my cravings in a second. Now water. I don’t like it. But, I put some lime juice in it with some stevia and BAM. Kinda like lemonade without the calories and a great help for weight loss.
Walking
I don’t like working out either, call me a fake ana I don’t care, but man walking is amazing. You burn calories and don’t feel like dying. I walk everywhere, mostly to the convenient store to by redbull, but it’s a great way to stop thinking about food. Just put on some music as loud as you want and stride bitch.
Stop obsessing
Yeah I know, easier said then done, but I swear it’s a game changer. If you think about food, you want food, you crave it, you give in, you binge. If you can’t stop thinking about it, then you’re restricting too hard. It’s your brain trying to warn you it can’t take it. Allow yourself stuff. Instead of thinking “I can only have one ricecake today” and obsess about it even after eating it, think “mh, I want a ricecake. Imma eat the ricecake.” Kinda weird phrased like this, but for me it made such a difference. On days I pass just scrolling trough tumblr and youtube watching mukbangs and supersized vs superskinny it’s suuuuper hard not to binge. But, when I watch my favorite anime, the day goes by quickly and I didn’t even think about food.
Find yourself a hobby
Okay if last point didn’t apply to you, this one does. If you spend all your days just thinking about food and calories, what about when this is over? When you’ve reached your UGW, when you’re ready for recovery? Is this your identity now? Find something that really takes your mind off of EVERYTHING else. Try drawing, knitting, a sport, whatever you want. Just something for YOU that isn’t controlled by your ed.
Take care of yourself
Make a skincare routine and STICK TO IT. Start simple: cleanser, toner, moisturizer. And add to it as you go. This is also a big help if you’re like me and do fine during the day but become a binge monster at night. When you’re starting to feel agitated and the pantry is calling your name, do your night time routine. Pj’s, skincare, brush your teeth, plop your hair, read a book, do whatever it is you do and get in bed. That’s your way of saying to your brain “day’s over, not time for food anymore”. That has helped me soo much.
A few of my favourite things
I use an eyebrightner cuz I look like a dead bitch no matter how much I sleep. Mine is from garnier but you can use whichever you like. Facemasks, my skin is dying especially since it started getting cold again, so chose one you like and use it 1-3 times a week. Also moisturize your entire body. You will get as dry as a mf lizard so try and prevent it as much as you can, I use Laroche-Posey when I get out of the shower. Also use a mouthwash cuz your teeth will get fucked up. Chew gum when you need something to do with your mouth. I also vape but I don’t recommend starting. Clean your house, it helps gain control and makes you feel better (we all know that’s what your ed is really about) so yeah that’s it feel free to add or hate on me I don’t mind.
I don’t promote eating disorders, at all. But, I know I never listened to those kind of warnings so just try not to destroy your body too much please. You’ll regret it later, I swear. Stay alive you bitches ❤️

130kcal for an ENTIRE chocolate cake
Tumblr media
If you’ve already seen this recipe on MPA, it’s because I posted it there a while back. Anyway, here it is:
Ingredients
20g all-purpose flour (72.8)
10g cocoa powder (22.8)
2 egg whites (34)
40g allulose (14)*
Total Calories: 143.6kcal
*You can, of course, use zero-calorie sweetener if you’d like. The resulting cake will be 129.6kcal.
Instructions
Beat the egg whites to soft peaks and add in the allulose in 2-3 stages, mixing well between each addition. Continue to beat to form stiff peaks.
Fold in the flour and cocoa powder, being careful not to knock out too much air from the meringue.
Put the batter into a cake tin, flatten out the surface (or don’t and get an ugly cake), and bake in a preheated, 170˚C oven for 20 minutes.
Turn off the oven but leave the cake in there for 10 more minutes.

getting your protein (eating disorder style)
this post aims to educate on how much protein a person needs, why it’s important to have enough, what low-calorie foods to eat for protein, and a few simple recipes for each food.
the average person needs a minimum of .8 grams of protein per kg of weight (or .36 grams of protein per pound) so as not to have a protein deficiency.
a 45kg/100lb person needs at least 36 grams of protein per day
a 54.5kg/120lb person needs at least 43.2 grams of protein per day
a 63.5kg/140lb person needs at least 50.8 grams of protein per day
a 72.5kg/160lb person needs at least 58 grams of protein per day
a 81.5kg/180lb person needs at least 65.2 grams of protein per day
a 90.75kg/200lb person needs at least 72.6 grams of protein per day
a 113.3kg/250lb person needs at least 90.6 grams of protein per day
a 136kg/300lb person needs at least 108.8 grams of protein per day
signs of protein deficiency include:
Sluggish metabolism
Trouble losing weight
Low energy levels and fatigue
Poor concentration and trouble learning
Moodiness and mood swings
Muscle, bone and joint pain
Blood sugar changes that can lead to diabetes
Slow wound healing
Low immunity
and since the vast majority of people on here do not seem to be getting their protein (myself included), here are some high-protein, low-calorie foods (with a recipe to make it!)
VEGAN:
🥕 in 1 cup of unshelled soybeans, there is: 107 calories, 10 grams of protein, 8 grams of fiber, 13 milligrams of sodium, and 2 grams of fat      to cook: boil until the soybean pods start to float, drain, then add salt (107 calories)
🥕 in 6 ounces of firm tofu, there is: 140 calories, 16 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 0 grams of sodium, and 8 grams of fat      to cook: slice into small cubes and stir-fry with spray-oil, soy sauce, and vegetables (broccoli and carrots work good and are both super low-cal! the whole meal is 200 calories if you use 1 cup of each vegetable)
VEGETARIAN:
🧀 in 4 egg whites, there is: 68 calories, 14 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 219 milligrams of sodium, and 0 grams of fat     to cook: preheat small pan with a little spray oil. separate the egg whites and yolks with your fingers, then discard the yolks (or use for someone else’s meal). cook the egg whites on medium heat until firm, scrambling occasionally. add salt and pepper to taste, and eat on 1 slice of bread (158 calories with a 90 calorie slice of whole wheat bread)
🧀 in 1 cup of skim milk, there is: 90 calories, 8 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 130 milligrams of sodium, and 0 grams of fat     to cook: eat with 1 cup of plain cheerios and 1 packet of sugar substitute for a 190 calorie breakfast!
🧀 in 5.3 ounces of low-fat greek yogurt, there is: 150 calories, 12 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 60 milligrams of sodium, and 4.5 grams of fat     to cook: put plain yogurt in a bowl with ½ cup of any berry and one packet of sugar substitute. stir and enjoy (200 calories or less)
CARNIVORE:
🍖 in 4 ounces of baked chicken breast (boneless and skinless), there is: 110 calories, 23 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 180 milligrams of sodium, and 3 grams of fat      to cook: preheat oven to 190C/375F. spray baking pan with spray oil. rub chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. put the chicken in the pan and cover with a piece of tin foil. bake for 40 minutes (110 calories)
🍖 in 3 ounces of yellowfin tuna canned in water, there is: 99 calories, 22 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, 288 milligrams of sodium, and 1 gram of fat      to cook: drain can, then add low-fat greek yogurt, lemon juice, low-fat mayo, apples, pickle juice, or cucumber (there’s a million different things you can add, so experiment! 150 calories or less)
so there we go! make sure you’re eating enough goddamn protein, for faster weight loss, and a healthier body!

I have a very sweet group of 13-14ish year old girls following me so I just wanted to say a few words about safety and grooming really quickly because I’ve been (hopefully needlessly) stressed about this and it’s sometimes more subtle than like. Asking for nudes
• Adults you meet online should not be talking to you about sex. Full stop. This includes smut, their sex life, your sex life, and “educating” you about sex. If an adult is talking to you about sex in ANY context, BLOCK THEM. Once again, THIS INCLUDES FANDOM SHIT. That is still inappropriate.
If you’re curious about sex, which is Totally normal, you can ask a trusted adult or mentor figure you know IN REAL LIFE, and if you don’t have one, there are lots of very straightforward and strictly educational resources at Planned Parenthood’s website and
• As much as I value younger girls as people (this is not a dig at y’all ❤️), it is weird to be an adult and be CLOSE friends with a young teenager. Even if you don’t perceive your interactions as inappropriate, it’s weird.
This is not because you’re not interesting or fun, but because adults really have nothing in common emotionally with eighth graders, and ALL of us know that. Every single one of us. An adult has nothing to gain from confiding in a person in a middle school. If a grown man or woman is telling you their deepest, darkest secrets, messaging you about their problems on a regular basis, or asking you to confide in them, that is a red flag. Block them.
• If an adult is complimenting you on your appearance in any way that you would not compliment an 8-year-old, BLOCK THEM. It’s completely not appropriate for an adult to tell you that you look hot, your makeup is sexy, etc. That’s fucking weird.
• If they talk about how mature you are for your age, BLOCK THEM. You might very well be mature for your age, but you’re not mature enough to change the fact that you’re in a completely different life stage than a grown adult.
(This applies to the 12-14 crowd—not telling you to block your 18 y/o friends if you’re 16 haha)

Can we make a thread of thing to do or not do if your loved one suffers from an ED
My boyfriend is really lovely, but he keeps doing little things that he doesn't realise are triggering so I'm trying to compile a list of things for him to avoid
Dont compare my weight to ANYBODY else. Even if it's in a positive light, it becomes a competition or incredibly distressing
Don't force or push me into eating, especially large meals. Instead, you can encourage me to eat smaller portions throughout the day, but if I feel forced I may have a panic attack
Don't buy me clothes without consulting with me first. It is a really lovely thing to do, but it causes me a lot of anxiety, especially if the sizing is off or it doesnt fit right, and I feel bad asking you to return it.
Don't speak to people about my ED if I'm not comfortable with those people knowing. Unless it is essential for my safety.
Don't act oblivious. I know that you know about my eating problems and when you tell me that you noticed a specific incident a week later nothing can be done. It is difficult to approach and you don't need to flag up every time I'm being weird about food, but if I feel like I'm not being noticed then I will attempt even more dangerous methods.
Don't take on too much stress or feel as though you cannot leave me as I'm too fragile. My doctors and therapists are looking after me. The above are just suggestions for if you're happy to take this on, but it is not your responsibility or burden to carry
Remember that, even though things may get hard, I'm doing this partially for you. I want to live so that I can spend my life with you. I love you.

Don’t die plz
Okay I saw a post about hyponatremia and hospitalization so I’m going to do a quick nutrition lesson out of safety because this can get problematic fast. This does not contain all of the problems of hyponatremia by any means, just a major one I know a lot about.
Salt
Makes you bloat right? Okay well the thing is that salt is an electrolyte and serves to manage your hydration levels. Therefore too much or too little salt can make your body retain fluid, because it needs electrolytes to maintain proper hydration no matter how much water you drink and dehydration will cause bloating. You also need salt to uhhhh not die. So your muscles contract due to a sodium potassium pump. This is why when you are in serious deficit of electrolytes your muscles start to cramp (something you have probably noticed when fasting). The problem with this is that you have one very big muscle that absolutely needs to be able to expand and contract. This is a huge reason that many people with eating disorders die. If your heart doesn’t have the chemical ability to contract it stops. This is why you need both sodium and potassium in your diet no matter how low you restrict. So I’m going to show you my secret. You can buy these pills off of amazon or at Walmart or wherever you can find them. They contain tons of necessary electrolytes and they are zero calorie and don’t make me bloat or gain weight. I promise you I take them regularly and I still have a 22 inch waist and am pretty confident that my heart won’t fail from this problem. Do not let this disorder kill you.
Tumblr media
*if you have a higher starting weight and have been told by a doctor to reduce sodium due to high blood pressure then talk to your doctor because I am not a medical professional.
*All of this information is from college level nutrition classes, not medical training.

Reasons to Recover from Your Eating Disorder
You won’t have to go through life worrying about every single calorie and every single meal.
You can enjoy dinner with your family without panicking about it.
You can live life without it revolving around food.
You won’t have to lie to the people you care about anymore.
You can actually have fun on your birthday.
Fighting with people you care about over whether or not you’ve eaten is boring and painful.
Because there is more to life than food.
Because losing friends is not fun.
You can enjoy social occasions without worrying about food.
You won’t feel so constantly exhausted and drained all the time.
Thinking and dreaming about and being consumed by food is no way to live.
Feeling dizzy and cold and tired keeps you from living a happy, fulfilling life.
Recovery will give you the chance to LIVE and to be alive, rather than just existing.
Because you deserve to have happy thoughts in your head, instead of numbers.
Your recovery can inspire and aid the recovery of others. Instead of passing on disordered behavior, you can pass on health and support and encouragement.
Your skin will improve, as will your mental clarity. Eating right (and enough) can greatly help symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Because you don’t deserve to cry yourself to sleep anymore.
You deserve to be able to genuinely smile again.
You deserve to be able to go outside and enjoy your day without worrying about what you’re wearing and whether or not you look okay.
You won’t have to waste money on food to binge on anymore.
Your feet and legs will stop falling asleep and going numb when you sit down.
Your hair will stop falling out.
Your skin will finally be able to heal itself. You deserve to be glowing.
It’s nice to not feel like death anymore.
It’s nice to not smell like vomit anymore.
It’s nice to be able to go out and actually enjoy yourself again.
Your general health will improve and you’ll be less susceptible to colds and viruses.
You won’t have to feel guilty about breaking your promises.
You won’t have to lie to everyone around you.
You’ll be able to go out and dance at parties/bars/clubs without feeling weak and dizzy.
If you’re fortunate enough to still have healthy teeth, recovery will prevent them from rotting.
You are worth so much more than just a number on a scale.
It’s nice to not be constantly cold and nauseous all the time.
Because crying in your room is never a good way to spend a Friday night.
You can finally live without guilt. Guilt that you ate when you didn’t think you deserved to eat. Guilt that you haven’t eaten and you’re letting loved ones down. Guilt that you binged. Guilt that you purged. Guilt that deep down you’ve forgotten how to love yourself.
Your bones won’t be brittle and easy to break anymore.
You’ll be able to sleep at night without hunger pains keeping you awake.
Be confident again.
So you don’t feel like a complete & utter hypocrite when trying to help someone that is in the same position as you.
So you can enjoy “family time” & not worry about eating “bad food”
So that you don’t spit up after eating because your esophagus is so fucked up from purging.
So you don’t miss out on life.
Because it’s nice waking up and thinking about what art you can create, what places you can explore, what books you can read, what people you can meet, what songs you can sing, what sports you can play, instead of thinking about what you’re going to eat and not eat that day.
Watching Netflix is a lot more fun than watching “thinspiration” videos.
It’s nice to wake up in the morning with energy, instead of waking up tired from not eating, or sick from binging.
So that you can get up in the morning and see clearly, instead of seeing spots or having black vision as you try to sit up.
You deserve to love yourself again.
You deserve to accept love from those around you again.
You deserve to be able to go shopping without having panic attacks and breakdowns in the changing room.
You can eat your favorite foods without guilt and anxiety.
You’ll have enough energy to do the things you enjoy.
You can be active, and run or play sports for the fun of it, not for weight loss.
You can have a life again.
You’ll be able to sleep at night.
Aren’t you tired of feeling worthless and guilty?
You’ll be able to go out without thinking that everyone is staring at you.
Go into a grocery store feeling safe.
You won’t have to be scared of going to the doctor anymore.
You won’t have to excuse yourself from work or social events to purge.
Recover so you don’t have to see the scared, heartbroken look on your mother’s face when she hears you purging.
Recover so you can go on a date and feel happy and not worry.
Recover so that you can share your story and help others recover.
You won’t have to waste any more money on laxatives.
Your eating disorder won’t be feeding your anxiety and depression anymore.
ALL of us deserve a better life than ED hell.
You’ll be able to have children someday if you want to.
So you can make spontaneous plans to go out, and not have to check or worry if they’ll “fit in” with the eating disorder.
So you can spend time having interesting conversations with people, without your mind wandering off to do calorie counts.
You don’t have to feel guilty when people buy you food, because you won’t have to waste it anymore.
So you can live a happy, free, fulfilled life.
So you can feel unafraid for the first time in a long time.
So you can have and actually sustain healthy relationships with people (family, friends, significant other) without the eating disorder causing fights and pushing them away.
You can walk around town with a friend or go to events without worrying about passing out.
You don’t have to lie awake at night worrying about the damage you’re doing to yourself.
When you give your body the fuel it needs, your physical AND mental health will improve. Your self-confidence will improve.
You can get your natural skin tone back, and not look gray and sickly pale all the time.
Your blood pressure and heart rate will go back to normal.
You’ll be able to enjoy hot baths and showers again.
You won’t have so much gas or bloating or stomach pains anymore. Your intestinal and digestive health will slowly heal itself.
You can stop punishing yourself for eating.
You can sit up for more than 10 minutes without your stomach hurting.
You won’t have to debate for an hour before eating an apple.
Your room won’t smell like vomit and moldy food.
So you don’t get up in the middle of the night feeling as though you need to do 300 sit-ups before you can sleep and then spend all day feeling tired, and ill.
You won’t trigger others anymore.
So you dont end up in hospital at 3am because your bowels are bleeding due to your ED
You won’t be constantly dehydrated anymore.
When you look back on your life, you’ll have happy memories too, not just empty memories of anorexia / bulimia
You won’t have constant headaches anymore.
You won’t have to isolate yourself anymore.
Because life can, and should be, so much more.
Please feel free to add onto this list, and share your own stories and reasons for recovery. I love you guys and my inbox is always open.
