That new Helluva Boss episode got me feeling all sorts of ways. I had to draw something for it before I combusted.

Coincidentally, it just so happens that Spindlehorse was looking for people for a bit on Twitter the other day, and while I did already shoot my shot, I thought it would be a good idea to put more HB art on my blog there to demonstrate my ability to draw on-model beyond some rough pen doodles lol.

Why not do both at the same time? Make my pseudo-application a little gay, as a treat?

Hello!

I'm not sure about Wes' tail color, so I thought I'd ask for some advice. I usually do a gradient in ghost tails depending on what their legs are wearing: for example, Danny wears black pants and white boots, so his tail is black with a white tip (like a black fox). Sidney wears gray pants and black shoes, so his tail is gray with a black tip.

But Wes is a garland boy, he's all colors at once. But his pants are black, with green... things. Does it make sense to give him a multi-color tail instead of black-yellow-green?

Ah, I guess I haven't posted a lot of artwork of his tail. Sorry about the confusion!

In the canon of my fic, his tail is kind of like a ribbon or an eel, and is the same shade of orange as his hair, except the center has a black stripe. It's wriggly and smooth, but if he's angry or has a lot of stored energy, it gets jagged like a lightning bolt.

(Super quick drawing below; it's almost 4am here so I didn't wanna do a big high-effort drawing lol)

But really, I say you can do whatever you like! Wraith had several different tail designs when I first made him (for example, originally it was blue like his aura, and also bubbly), so it can be argued that he isn't limited to one look anyway.

I've also really liked the art direction you've taken with him (that color gradient never occurred to me, and I feel like it makes a lot of sense now that you've brought it up). It's less important to me that you draw him as close to canon as possible, and more important that you draw him in ways that you enjoy, are easy for you, and/or are how you like to envision him! The drawing above is meant to be a point of reference, not to say that this is how he must be drawn, if that makes sense.

Wattson Wraith character turnaround

I forgot to post this when I made it, but I felt like practicing reference sheets by doing a turnaround of my boy with some margin notes. There's some roughness to it, and it's hardly professionally presented. But hey, that's why we practice.

Also tbh I've needed to do this for ages. I've seen a lot of discrepancies with his legwear among fanworks, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I don't post a lot of full-body artwork of this guy unless his ghost tail is out, and a lot of stuff I HAVE posted wasn't colored. He was overdue for a proper leg reveal lmao

Okay, so I know the phandom as a whole loves to joke about Tucker being a furry, and it's genuinely one of my favorite headcanons.

But I think a lot of us (including myself) forget that Mr. Lancer CANONICALLY HAS A BEAR SUIT.

(Although seeing as he doesn't like wearing it, it's entirely possible that it's actually Ms. Tetslaff's. And I think Furry Tetslaff is a hilarious concept and I would love to see that be a thing.)

im pretty sure your fic really kickstarted the previous host's interest in mvmbots, at the time centric on scoutbots. so when our brain decided we would be able to handle a stressful situation better by fusing them and another alter into a new identity, it chose a scoutbot as that identity

so in a way you can take credit for my entire existance

So one of my irl friends was telling me about the Lancer ttrpg system, and suggested that I might enjoy Atlas based on some flow chart that exists somewhere and a few questions I answered.

He ALSO informed me that mech designs are suggestions rather than hard canon. So I looked at Atlas's stats, saw the zip line and application of cover, and made the leap to a chameleon–themed mech.

The zip line is shot out through the mouth, and spools behind scutes on the chest and stomach. The Kraul Rifle comes from the same place, but has a dedicated spool in the throat. The Ricocheting Blades are flung from the tail, emerging from the slats. The Terashima has a collapsible blade; the hilt has a dedicated slot in the cranium, and the blade extends when drawn. The nodes that power the suit and enable its agile movements exist largely on the thighs and upper arms, with tracks distributing the energy throughout.

Ngl I just really wanted the excuse to practice metal shading xjxnxxjxnxnxbxbx
