silly general stuff…

☆ he had a degree in engineering before the horrors started and absolutely LOVED science so before the horrors i think he really wanted to be like a chemistry teacher or a sort of mechanic

☆ i like to think that every year on christmas he had this running joke with cheryl of getting her a stupid ugly present before showing her the real thing and they do this thing where they compete on who got the ugly presents first

☆ he never really knew what the term "trans" was he just knew he was a boy and yelled at his parents and everyone around him to call him ash, not ashly, in his head he just thought everyone was stupid. when the ghostbeaters see like his scars and hormone treatment and ask if he's trans he makes a bullshit excuse and asks what the hell a trans is. i think if anything he would just know the term transsexual from his father and what others called him.

☆ it’s funny to think that ash stores his extra weed in empty testosterone vials when he's done using them. idiot.

☆ ash's top surgery scars are actually extremely jagged and fucked up since they are diy. and by diy i mean by the chainsaw. he also got on testosterone because he truly believes he’s just a man who is low on it.

☆ he enjoys dancing a lot...like a lot...do NOT be in a club with him while drunk he will not stop dancing. and singing. he does it in private now but the ghostbeaters have caught him a couple of times

☆ he took piano and cello lessons when younger (the piano thing is canon and everyone talks about the fucking cello hc this isn’t original)

☆ he introduced his music taste to cheryl as kids and he would hang out in her room with her for hours and play songs she likes on the piano (he does this for brandy now..it took him awhile to start playing again though)

☆ he LOVES connecting with people through food and movies

☆ cheryl drew portraits of ash when they were teenagers and ash would draw her like a stick figure

☆ in high school, he secretly would hide in the janitors closet to read chemistry books and books on mechanics because he doesn’t want to be seen as a LOSER! (it's canon that he's interested in these but never go deeper)

☆ he found eli (his pet bearded dragon) on the side of the road while drunk and has had him ever since

☆ i think one time he was curious and let eli take a hit from his joint to see what would happen and freaked out when he started acting weird so now he's super cautious when smoking around eli in his trailer. he checks on the little man regularly.

☆ his favorite genre of movies is comedy and was able to get grab a few vhs tapes from his room before he got kicked out (before the horror he really liked old monster movies)

☆ he tries really hard to be nice to people when first speaking to them but he is so used to being an asshole so he ALWAYS says something offensive

☆ the delta is his home and he is emotionally connected to it

☆ he thinks crushing beer cans with his mechanical hand is the coolest thing in the world

☆ when he was in 1300 AD he would purposely tell someone about the future or do something with chemistry if he was mad at them or when he just wanted to be a dick

☆ ash would put linda's necklace ontop of a pillow next to his in whatever trailer he was living in after the first few months after the horrors. he would talk to it like it was her but get too choked up and go to bed leaving space for the empty side

☆ he goes to local music stores on cheryl's birthday and tries to play her favorite songs on the piano but gets so frustrated with the limited movement from his iron gauntlet hand that he would just continue trying until he eventually broke down in the middle of the fucking store

☆ i see a lot of fics that have this but anyways i feel like for years after the horrors ash just pulled his boomstick out on whatever made him feel threatened because danger = deadites are back... oh my shayla... "Well, thank you...Ash. I will be sure to see you again.." pins them against the wall "How do you know my name? Huh? Huh! Don't act cute, pal. How long have you screwheads been following me! Reveal yourself before I blow your damn head off!" "You're fucking crazy-it's on your name tag!" "Oh...forgot I had that. Heh. Oops." (he then proceeded to get his ass beat)

☆ i think once he returned after aod he stayed inside his trailer for months after getting kicked out, i feel like he truly believed he was getting hunted by deadites and would have frequent panic attacks (if he didn’t stuff himself with weed and beer)

☆ this is technically canon if you squint while watching evil dead 2 but ash has very obvious tremors/shakes when he talks or stands still because he is constantly in fight or flight and i fear he struggled with that for years after returning back home and tried really hard to hide it from others (he failed)

☆ linda’s necklace is his good luck charm, i don’t gaf that bruce and sam make fun of it ITS SPECIAL TO ASH!!!!! i think he always cleaned it and made sure it was super safe in his pocket

☆ he went back to the university (which, granted, took a LONG TIME) just to visit scottys dorm and take his stupid little letterman jacket from ‘evil dead: the game’ so he could hang it up with his own

☆ we all know him being the duplicate of his father is just a shield/facade to protect himself from everything he went through but i fear this would require an entire essay

okay i am sorry…here’s ash and brandy headcanons…

☆ i like to think that one time brandy caught him searching her room and she's like "Dad, what the Hell are you doing!" and he's like "Look, kiddo, You're my blood! I know all the hiding tricks, you can't fool papa Ash!" and she just watches in confusion as he searches for any trace of weed and when he didn't find any she made him apologize with his head down like a kicked out dog

☆ one year on halloween he taught her how to tp a house of someone who's picking on her at school and he watched in the delta like "That's my girl! Woo!" and then they got caught and he was like "Shit! get in the car!" and brandy is just screaming "Drive, drive, drive!"

☆ he tries to play ball with her but fails horribly or keeps hitting her in the face with the ball since his dad never fucking did shit with him so she ends up teaching him instead LMAO

☆ they have a weekly pop tart day where brandy makes poptarts and the ghostbeaters come around to eat pop tarts and have a movie night

☆ if she's out with ash and some mf is like "haha look it's ashy slashy and ashy slashy 2" she will just be like "hell yeah i am" and they high five and flip them off

☆ when brandy is out or sleeping ash just sneaks into her room and drops off a cassette tape next to cheryl's old player because he's really bad at showing his feelings so he's using the songs to bond and he thinks he's sooo smart and that brandy doesn't notice it but she does and whenever she plays it on the player he's like standing outside her room and applauding himself for “bonding”

"Dad, what's this?" wagging a harry nilsson cassette tape "This is the fifth one this week." "Oh, that's weird! It's the uh... music fairy? I dunno.." "Dad, I'm seventeen. Cut the bullshit."
