being a writer leads to a genuinely helpful but also very stupid kind of mindfulness where you'll be having a sobbing breakdown or the worst anxiety attack of your life and think "okay, I really need to pay attention to how this feels. so I can incorporate it into my fanfiction."

Okay Malignant synopsis! In bio too. This doesn't even cover half of what's in it, but I want to keep some surprises. It will have gore, death, and sex for the main triggers. Each chapter will be labeled anyways. Never been great at describing a large idea in such a small amount of words.
------
Chaos ensues after an undercover, government funded research facility loses control of its hostile test subjects. It spreads infectiously throughout the world, starting slowly at first, like a patient cancer.
One human in particular gains a dangerous curiosity for one of the extraterrestrial mimics, not knowing that it had been watching her with equal interest from the shadows for quite some time before she even knew of its existence.
Unknown to her, something vile and malicious grows somewhere close by, something far deadlier than the man-eater in her back yard. When co-workers and patients in the pharmacy that she works in start to become ill and end up going missing, she turns to her inhuman companion for answers.
If asked if she had known how chaotic her life would get by just a single decision one early autumn evening, she would say, "I wouldn't change a damn thing."

Thanks for the tag @gioiaalbanoart!
A lil snip snop from Malignant ->
Mentions of blood, death & drugs.
Acrid blood sprayed messily on the concrete wall, soaking into its porous surface. Eris was less than pleased with the enormous content of man-made substances that swam freely through the veins of its current prey.
The human was not healthy enough to be consumed purely for gaining sustenance, but it would not go to complete waste; it would be yet another plaything for the apex predator to take its unending anger out on.
Open tag!
last line tag!
Nobody tagged me, I do what I want.
Picked DMLS 2 back up after a two-week break. This was the last sentence I wrote during a 20-minute sprint earlier:
If Sullivan was lovesick, he had long made peace with the knowledge it was terminal.
This is an open tag but I am specifically bothering:
