WE ARE SO BACK

Girl they really had me there in the first half, but our Beloved Son, Fashion Maven in Suspenders, and Moderator of the CharanKhanin Twitter Fan Account, Chakri, who did not die, is visited by his darling Prince, for whom he has taken a literal bullet. Khanin has dressed himself in probably some of the simpler items in the Freeskate Closet, the One True Blouse (White Edition) and black pants, and in honour of Chakri's valour, a sparkly black waistcoat and the largest throat brooch he could locate, since we all know Charki loves a little dazzle.

He and Charan are matching so hard, be still my little pairs skate heart. If the ISU ever catches up to GOAT federation Skate Canada in normalizing teams of any and all genders, this might be the type of costume set we'd see to get the dinosaurs on board: both Khanin and Charan are wearing the exact same pieces, but Khanin's outfit is built for flourish, and Charan's for lifting. Could they both wear flouncy sleeves? Absolutely! It's the future liberals (me) want. Darlings, let's cross our fingers and hope we get there. This is a 100/10 freeskate look for the dreams of the figure skate future our heart's made.

Called to the Palace for an audience of the families, Khanin changes into his brown brocade vest, One True Blouse (Beige Edition), and a slightly more understated brooch and ribbon combo. What I like about this choice is he is very clearly meant to match with his biological dad in a front of support, but it's Charan and Tatdanai in the background who actually agree with his ideals. Even when Tharin redeems himself later on the balcony, and tells Khanin about his Grandfather's remorse, the family ties still feel forced. Khanin is still committed to the people of Emmaly, but clearly weary of all the posturing and rules required of him to actually enact any change. 8/10 for just kind of being done with this whole group of people and feudal political system.

Okay. One, why are you both sleeping in robes, and two, Charan just penciling in the bed with his hands clasped is sending me. Like I know between Khanin's two dads, one can order your execution and the other could do it no questions asked and no one would find your body, but SIR. That is no reason to sleep next to Khanin like you're already in your coffin.

THAT IS MORE LIKE IT. Robes can't freeskate, but they can CUDDLE.

This episode decided to tug on all my heart strings. So happy to have you back, OG Father. This kid has had a major deficit in the hug department.

We arrive finally at the fencing competition this entire show is basically built around! It only took several near death experiences and a not insignificant body count (RIP to that guy Khanin shot in the woods with an arrow, Princes administer justice like its 1066 apparently) to get here!
