Who is one person you wish you could get to know better?
“I think I’d like to get to know Logan Baines better, the cute mechanic guy! He seems like he has a lot on his plate right now, and maybe I can be a friend to help him out. The Joel guy also seems like someone I’d like to see more of!”

What's your biggest fear?
“Biggest fear? I mean, I don’t really like deep water or driving at night. Driving on cramped roads gives me a lot of anxiety, especially if a big truck passes by. I also really don’t like mice, but I’m not scared of them. They’re just small and I could step on them. Uh...” He thought about it a bit more. “I want to be accepted by everyone; I don’t want to be disliked or hated. I also don’t like wet socks, so stepping in puddles makes me a bit upset. That’s not really a fear though, is it?”

“Wow, you guys really want to know who I love here, huh?” The werewolf grinned. “Are you secret admirers? Because, you don’t have to be secret with me. I’ll shower you with as much love and affection as you want.” Berkeley placed his hand under his chin, still smiling. “Besides, I can’t pick a favorite or least favorite. I don’t really have them. I have people I care a lot about, but picking favorites is kind of rude, don’t you think?”

“I don’t think that making it rain is particularly safe. Besides, if you’re making it rain I’d really rather prefer Benjamins, not quarters.” Cassandra said with a chuckle, pausing at his other alternative. “I dunno, I’ve washed a lot of clothes… and I’m not very athletic, so it would probably take me far longer than it needs to, and make more clothes sweaty… sounds like a lose/lose.” She added with a shrug, pulling out a couple of the dollar bills she had in her pocket. “Settle for a trade instead? I’ll let you run down the street with one of my wet pillowcases as an experiment too?”
Tumblr media
“Well, I don’t have Benjamins. I have... A roll of quarters.” He laughed a bit as he looked up at her. “If I had enough 100s to make it rain, I’d let you stand in it though.” The werewolf offered a warm smile to the other, happy to have a conversation while he waited. “What if you made a chain of clothes -- one that’s really long and functions like a huuuuuuuuuuuge cape. I can hold the end and you can run. We can do it!”

“That’s very true, and very wise for someone your age. Most people in this town just seem to be moody and miserable.” Although, judging by what she’d read in the gazette, people had a right to be. It was a gloomy town filled with tragedy and horror much more than any other place she’d travelled to. “Right, Wright.” She quipped, as she entered his name into the system. “Lets take a look at that finger. You’re not allergic to anything, are you? Local anaesthetic?”
Tumblr media
It wasn’t often that people complimented his intelligence -- it was especially rare for someone to compliment his wisdom. Berkeley couldn’t help but chuckle. “I wouldn’t call myself wise - I mean, a wise man probably doesn’t do the stuff I do.” His chuckle evolved into a quiet laugh as he waited. “I don’t think I’m allergic to anything -- I guess we’ll find out if something has changed since my last visit!” He said as he presented her his hand.

Brooke had found herself trapped within the confinements of the Marsh property, surrounded by wet dogs and other creatures that she didn’t care for. The flood couldn’t have come at a worst time and she felt all eyes on her, as she silently accused of murdering of George Marsh. Did nobody realise she was smarter than that?
However, despite it all, she noticed a familiar face in the corner of the room – perhaps one of the only werewolves that seemed tolerable in this entire town. “Berekeley,” she said, beckoning him to come over. “I’m bored, sit down.”
Tumblr media
It was strange that, in a house full of werewolves, Berkeley found comfort in a vampire. Not just any vampire -- the head honcho of the Windham family. Being surrounded by people of the Marsh pack made him uneasy; it wasn’t that he hated any of them, he just... wasn’t part of them. He felt like an intruder, an outsider, and he was. The familiar voice of Brooke at least brought him out of his discomfort. She gave him something to focus on other than his rare bout of anxiety.
Doing as she asked, the werewolf sat down beside her with one of his esteemed friendly smiles. “Hi Brooke,” he greeted. Perhaps she was feeling as out of place as he was. “Do you think they have Uno or something here - maybe we can play that. Or maybe I can pull a phone up on my movie -- wait.” He furrowed his brow, shaking his head. “A movie up on my phone,” the werewolf corrected.

The never ending rain reminded him of the trenches, and flashes of war flashed through his mind. He was there for a short time but it was enough to leave an impact on him. Color drained from his face, he turned away from the window and looked forward, uncharacteristically scared. “I have to stop looking out the window” he whispered to himself
Tumblr media
In most situations, Berkeley was a people person. He thrived off of social interaction and conversation, though things felt different while he was at the Marsh estate. While Franklin had welcomed everyone who needed shelter, regardless of creed or species, to the manor, Berk still felt... out of place. The werewolf was keeping to himself while he was here, though he turned his attention to the man sitting next to him. He offered a smile to the other before speaking. “Then look at my face instead - I’m Berkeley.” With the house as crowded as it was, his nose couldn’t accurately tell what species the stranger belonged to, and that was fine with him.

Romping // Full Moon, Aug. 3.
During their last conversation, Berkeley had managed to convince the new lycanthrope to join him outside of the chains. It wasn’t something he had done in Cresthill, since he had the forests surrounding the town to hide in. Back home, chains were pretty much required on the full moon, and all parties involved hated it. Being chained up made him claustrophobic, uncomfortable, though it was necessary to prevent casualties. At home, he had his aunt and uncle to help with everything. Here, without a pack or family, it was hard to get into the restraints. It offered him freedom though, which he was fond of.
Pulling up to Autymn’s house/apartment, the young man retrieved his phone to send her a text.
“Hey, Autymn, I’m outside whenever you’re ready. No rush - I have my jams. :-]”
He turned up the music just a hair as he relaxed against the seat, a small smile on his face. The numerous aches and pains in his body served as a reminder of his monthly hell; at least tonight he’d share the experience with someone.

“I know I haven’t showered yet, but you don’t have to insult how I smell.” Autymn’s face turned into a grimace as she began to eat more of her fries. “Ten years? That’s a long time…”
Tumblr media
Berkeley glanced around with a sheepish smile, lowering his head as he realized his voice had probably been too loud. “Oh. Sorry. You smell fine,” he corrected and grinned, hoping it was enough. Really, he hadn’t meant to be insulting. “Yeah, yeah! I started doing it pretty close to when I lost my arm. It was a wild few years.”

Summyr turned and saw perhaps the least intimidating person in town approaching her. The young man who was known first as a happy chatterbox and second as the one without a second arm, it wasn’t his second signifier that made him unthreatening. His disposition was so different from her own and it pissed her off.
She shrugged, tossing the stone up and down, “it’s a free country, do what you want,” she said before she tossed another stone.

one, two, three, four, plop!

“I mean, just because it’s a free country doesn’t mean I’m not going to try and respect the individuals around me,” he smiled, stretching as he tugged his shirt off. In the dark, his scars were probably hard to see. Most were from minor idiotic stunts he had pulled, though his oldest were from the same accident that took his arm, as well as the bite mark left on his shoulder.
He did his best to calmly wade into the water, despite what he had just said. If she wanted to skip rocks, he’d do his best to be careful. Watching the stones skip across the lake was fun, anyways.

“You seem awfully chipper for someone who’s in a hospital.” Milena noticed, as she walked towards the triage room. “Don’t worry though, it’s very refreshing.” Especially when it came to Cresthill hospital, everyone usually came in screaming about an animal attack.. or vampires. “Here we are then!” She said, as she sat down at the desk and loaded up her computer screen. “What’s your name honey?”
Tumblr media
“Chipper is how I get through things,” he grinned, keeping himself close behind as he followed. “Plus, being a jerk doesn’t help anyone in this situation, not that I would be in any situation,” the werewolf rambled. He sat down in front of the desk, glancing around at the sterile white walls. “Berkeley Wayne Thomas Wright,” he answered, still glancing around the room.

Cassandra had been furious ever since the fuse seemed to have blown in the basement of her townhouse, meaning that her laundry machine and dryer were completely unusable. She’d tried to call an electrician but they couldn’t come out to her for a couple of days, and so she was stuck trying to get at least some of her clothes clean in the laundromat. It wasn’t a place she particularly enjoyed or even felt overly comfortable with, but it was the life that she was leading, for the time being at least.
She’d been in there for what felt like an eternity, waiting for the final dryer to become free, only to come to the realisation that not only was she out of quarters herself, but the machine in the laundromat was also failing to give her the coins she needed. Refusing to go home with wet clothes, the brunette flung open the door to the street and grabbed the attention of the nearest passer-by. “Excuse me! Happen to have any quarters? If not - know a way to dry clothes really quickly?”
Tumblr media

With the apartment complex’s washers and dryers full, and in desperate need of clean clothes, Berkeley had a date with the laundromat in town. Bringing more quarters than probably necessary, his pockets jingled when he did anything. It made him feel richer than he actually was, though he had no real reason to think that. Maybe the luxury of having a roll of quarters dumped in his pocket felt nice. Regardless, he was bored of waiting.
He played quietly on his phone, though looked up as someone addressed him. Offering a big smile, he set his phone down and shoved his hand into his quarter pocket. “Yeah, yeah. I have plenty! Should I make it rain?” He asked as he pulled out a handful. “Actually... that might hurt. So maybe not. But, your other option is running really fast down the street and using your clothes as a cape. That would probably work.”

“I’ll be the judge of that,” Milena laughed, as she walked forward and began to inspect the broken finger. She tried her best to not scrunch up her face to visibly show how bad the injury looked – instead, she continued to smile. “Don’t worry, it doesn’t look too bad, despite how it looks. If that make sense.” She fumbled her words, with another laugh. “Would you like to follow me and we’ll get you checked in?”

Berk watched as she inspected it; hospital visits were pretty routine with him. He got into dumb situations more than the average person, though, surprisingly, bone breaks were rare for him. “Yeah! Lead the way, doc!” He grinned, despite the pain. In the past, he’d been in much, much worse. This, while extremely uncomfortable, was almost nothing.

“Oh! That must be why you didn’t smell!” He said perhaps a little too loudly, unaware of the few stares he brought. “Well, if you need someone to help you out with allnighters, let me know! I’ve been doing it for...” Berkeley paused as he slowly did some math in his head. “Like ten years now!”

summyr-ackerman:
Echo lake, it really did echo. Not in sound, although she imagined the space perfectly capable of carrying noise, like a bandshell or an auditorium…but no, it was more like it echoed in feeling. Picking up a smooth stone from the shore, she turned it over and over in her hand. Something about the water and the warm Summer breeze made her loneliness fester and rot inside her, the hole in her chest growing each time she saw a little firefly flicker from the corner of her eye in the darkness of night. She threw the stone and watched it skip across the water.
On, two, three, four, plop!
Tumblr media
“You know,” she said, “it’s rude to watch people and not say anything, actually, creepy would be a better word for it.” She picked up another stone, inspecting it to see if it would be good for skipping…
With the full moon behind him, Berkeley was feeling better than he had been. It always came with mood swings and muscle aches, and it took a decent bit of time to actually get over it. Still, he was pretty much back to his normal self, and decided to take the risk of swimming in the lake. It wasn’t smart, especially by himself, but that’s also what made it fun.
He stopped as he saw someone through the dark, illuminated by the moonlight. The young man stood and watched as they tossed a rock across the surface of the water. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He’d always wanted to be able to skip rocks, but never could figure out how, especially with his left hand.
“Oh, sorry! I was watching you do the whole... skippy rock thing. I never could do it, even when I had my dominant hand.” He grinned and approached casually, slinging his towel bag over his shoulder as he did. “Do you mind if I swim? I don’t to disrupt your rock throwing though. In movies it usually means you’re doing it to think or escape from stuff, so maybe that’s what you’re doing, and I’m not here to bother.”
