Catherine Lockhart: Making Hormone Healthy Beauty Accessible
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By Zoe C Kessler
Catherine Lockhart is a beauty centered content creator who started posting in the spring of 2018 and now boasts over 172,000 followers on Tik Tok and 75,000 on Instagram. For the past year her content has slowly entered a new niche, non-toxic beauty.
Lockhart was recently diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, which affects women’s reproductive health. This has caused her to, as she puts it, be on “a little hormone health journey” to naturally manage and reduce her symptoms. This has led her to seek out beauty and wellness products that are non-toxic and do not disrupt her hormones nor entire endocrine system. She has been documenting this journey for her followers, sharing her tips and tricks, as well as giving product recommendations.
Why is Lockhart’s content important? There are two key reasons:
Polycystic ovarian syndrome and most women’s reproductive illnesses are incredibly under researched. Not only is she bringing awareness to the syndrome, but she is also helping women manage the condition.
Additionally, managing this syndrome naturally can be expensive. Non-toxic products, naturopathic medicine, and supplements are not usually covered by standard U.S. insurance. By Catherine sharing her findings from doctors, paywall apps like Yuka and OnSkin, as well as from other professionals she is opening a massive door for women with PCOS — or other reproductive issues — who can’t afford to have access to this information. In other words, she is acting as a PCOS girl’s non-toxic digital guide.
Lockhart is also helping to break the stigma that non-toxic living is only attainable for people who don’t care about beauty. She is not telling, but showing us through her makeup, skincare, and hair tutorials with hormone safe products that needing to use clean products for your health does not mean you need to give up your love of beauty.
Catherine Lockhart is paving the way for women and all individuals to start setting a new beauty industry standard. We need hormone healthy products and non-toxic ingredients that don’t impact our health. Lockhart is showing us that clean beauty can be glam and reproductive health doesn’t have to cause people to compromise on how they wish to present themselves.

Miyake's Vision of the Future
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we all turn our attention to the Paris 2024 Olympics, it's worth pausing to reflect on a unique piece of Olympic history - the team uniforms designed by Issey Miyake for Lithuania.
In 1992, two years after Lithuania declared its independence, the country made its first appearance at the Barcelona Summer Olympics as a nation. At that time, Dr. Edward Domanskis served as the physician and spokesman for the Lithuanian team. A passionate fan of Issey Miyake, Domanskis had a novel idea - to invite Miyake to design Lithuania's team uniforms.
Miyake, accepting the invitation, saw it as more than just a design challenge. To him, sportswear represented an innovative and diverse future. Functionality, color, material - through sportswear, he wanted to see what the 21st century would look like.
During the design process, Miyake was mindful of the athletes' diverse body shapes, striving to create attire that was both fitting and comfortable. His solution was to incorporate the "Pleats Please" technique from his own brand line. The uniforms he designed incorporated the Lithuanian flag and the country's name on the collar, which could be zipped up to form a hood.
The pleats on these garments did more than just marry fashion with functionality; they added a touch of Miyake's distinctive style to Lithuania's team uniforms, making them a memorable part of Olympic history.

Lisa x Louis Vuitton
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shortly after releasing her new solo single "Rockstar," Lisa from Blackpink officially became the house ambassador for Louis Vuitton. In the premiere video, she is seen wearing the Women's Fall-Winter 2024 Collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections. Speaking about the collaboration, she expressed her admiration for Louis Vuitton's originality and felt honored to be part of this endeavor to maintain the originality.
Previously, it had been speculated that Lisa would collaborate with Louis Vuitton. As early as 2020, Lisa served as the global ambassador for Celine, which is also a part of the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group. At Paris Fashion Week in March of this year, Lisa made a surprise appearance in the front row of Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2024 show, wearing a floral-embroidered jacket and carrying the Pic Trunk handbag. In her new song "Rockstar," the lyrics also mention the brand - "Tight dress, LV sent it. Lisa reppin' "
Although the announcement was not surprising, Nicolas Ghesquière still expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He mentioned that Lisa's daring spirit and charisma align with the brand's ethos. Lisa's bold fashion sense perfectly showcases the individuality and empowerment that Louis Vuitton's women's wear represents.

The Margiela Tabi Shoes: Tracing the Roots from Japan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maison Margiela's Tabi shoes are one of the most popular cult designer pieces, but do you know about the Japanese origin of Tabi shoes? In 15th Japan, with increased cotton imports due to trade with China, Jika Tabi was born in the form of socks. Later, Jika Tabi was designed as shoes for workers to help with the balance during work.
In the late 1980s, Martin Margiela first saw street workers in flat cotton Tabi shoes during a visit to Tokyo. This gave him an idea create a heeled version of Jika Tabi. He painted the soles of these shoes red, and at Maison Martin Margiela's Spring/Summer 1989, models left behind red footprints walking with these shoes. More than 30 years later, Tabi shoes continue to be highly coveted and bear significant symbolic meaning with the cross-cultural artistic expression at the split toes.

Y-3's Uniform Reveal for the 2024 Paris Olympics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Spring/Summer 2025 collection show, Yohji Yamamoto's brand Y-3 - also a joint venture with Adidas - revealed the official uniform for the 2024 Japanese Olympic football team.
Yamamoto, a legendary fashion icon, has colored the home kit in deep, rich shade of blue, while the away kit presents a bold juxtaposition of red and white. However, it's the distinct pattern that truly sets the uniform apart. The uniforms are adorned with a uniquely Japanese flame design, a fiery motif that engulfs most of the fabric, adding an element of dynamism and spirit.
Even though this marks Yamamoto's debut in designing for the Japanese team, his brand, Y-3, is no stranger to the football world. They have previously partnered with this year’s Champions League winner Real Madrid, on several occasions.
Fans and fashion enthusiasts alike can look forward to the release of these co-branded products, which will be available through Adidas and selected retailers. This collaboration not only blurs the line between sports and fashion but also celebrates the fusion of tradition and modern aesthetics.

“Clothing doesn’t lie. It shows everything.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yohji Yamamoto, a legendary name in fashion, is celebrated for his avant-garde aesthetics and minimalist style. His mastery lies in his ability to elegantly blur gender lines, creating a unique blend of androgyny. The complexity and individuality of his designs are expressed in his unconventional fusion of masculine and feminine elements, asymmetric patterns, and oversized silhouettes. As Yamamoto himself once said, "the more [a woman] hides and abandons her femininity, the more it emerges from the very heart of her existence.”
Yamamoto's creations are not just clothes. They are a manifesto of resistance, a testament to the spirit of the avant-garde. They speak to the wearer’s sense of self, rather than the whims of the season. In an era where fast fashion often reigns, Yamamoto’s commitment to authenticity and timeless appeal offers a refreshing counterpoint.
