Centuries ago, there was there indigenous family in a little poor village in Mexico named the Martinez family. It was a family of five, the parents, two sons and one daughter. One of the son’s was named Juan , the other son’s name was Diego and the daughter’s name was Lupita. The Martinez family was a really humble family.
Everyone who lived in that little village knew who were the Martinez family because they were a really hardworking and humble family. Especially they all new who was Lupita; a young pretty inocente girl that always had to stay home with her mom helping her do the house chores. Since she was the only girl in from the family her father and her two brothers were really stricked with her. She was only allowed to go to school so she can get some education but she was never allowed to have friends because after she was out of school she had to go straight home to help her mom.
Everyone at school thought that something was wrong with Lupita because she always had a sad innocent face. No one ever tried to talk to her because she would always ignore them and walk away.
There was one rainy day and her father was not able to pick her up from school so she had to go walking home by herself in the dark. Through the lonely street that she had to walk there was an older drunk guy that was there. When the man saw that it was Lupita the pretty innocent girl that was never alone, he started to follow her and he decided to sexually abuse her.
That day was the worst day for Lupita. When she got home she was in tears but her family never new why was she crying until a couple of months past. After a couple of months past her mom started to realize that her stomach was growing. Which was because she was pregnant and she was already 9 months about to have her baby. But this secret was between her mom and her.
The day came and she had a beautiful baby girl. While Lupita was giving birth she started to get really sick. She was not able to resist the night and died that same night. Her mom was full of tears carrying her grandchild not knowing how was she going to explain this to her husband and her sons.

D7 - Remix Culture
In this society we have a lot of freedom, empowerment and risk that involves us using the internet. We as the people can do a lot of things that the internet provides us with, like creating remixes with an type of media. In addition, my thoughts about copyright is that it should of be strengthened because sometimes there is people that take advantage of to do bad things but sometimes copyright is used for helpful things. The license that I decided to use for this image was Flickr License>CC> Modifications Allowed to choose all 4 images that I used and then I used an app called Photoshop Mix to mix all 4 images into 1 image. My experience doing a remix piece seemed to be easy to do but in reality it’s not that easy, I feel like you need practice so that you can create a beautiful remix piece. Some if my challenges were to cutout the backgrounds if tho other images do I could may 1. Overall, it was fun trying out something different.

The ideas that she is trying to explore through her artwork are different character designs that she has created that she has visualized and thinks they can become really great characters that can come out in movies or shows.
This art exhibit resonates with me because I also really love cartoon characters. Her work grabbed my attention because I saw her artwork work titled “Papa Coco” which is one of the characters of my favorite movie coco. D6-Storytelling (Photography)
I choose to do is story of me making a delicious dessert which is strawberries with cream because it’s one of many dessert that there is around the world and also it’s one of my favorite dessert. I think I did great showing the some of the steps in how to do this delicious dessert and in detail. In my opinion the best image in my story was the 2nd to last picture which is the final product, the strawberries with cream in the jar. This is the best image of my story because you are able to admire how delicious this dessert looks. I think my photostory doesn’t contain an image that I think it’s not a great picture, I think they are all great. Next time I would do this activity I would probably focus in another topic and use a pro camera not my phone. Other photo stories I would like to tell would be climate change, life in a family or surfing in the beach.

In this artwork named “Emergence of the Kelp Deer” by Cristine Nguyen is a beautiful big piece of artwork. It is 99 1/2 x 239 1/4 inches big, it’s as big as a wall of a house. Also, Nguyen’s inspiration was from visonary 19th century scientists such as Ernst Haeckel and other scientists. Most of her painting involve imagery and are photo based pieces like this artwork named “Emergence of the Kelp Deer”. D5 - Architecture & Urban Planning - The Wedge
For this activity I sketched the new design of the USU Wedge. The new changes of the USU wedge are that I would remove the gray inner wall that is in between the two white piers and the right concrete bench. The new design would only have two piers and it would have a squared wide arch so that the students can have a wide space to walk through. I made these choices because it will still be the same short cut that there is right now but the difference is that it would be wider and more students will be able to walk through at the same time. I think the students will love this new design of the USU wedge because they will not have to go all around to go through, they will save a couple of steps and more students will be able to walk through at the same time.

D3-Speech Actions
In this activity I decided to paint an earth that is falling apart because the fire is causing it to melt. The medium that I choose were watercolors and a old brown paper. I wanted this painting to speak from me how I feel that climate change is destroying our earth. I think I was successful while doing this artwork because it expresses my speech. My art expresses my speech by showing how the fire is destroying the earth by destroying nature and people’s lives. Overall, if I were to do this project again I would probably use a different medium and maybe I would express a different speech.

Artist: Yaneli Delgado
Exhibition: Global Change

Gallery: LBSU School of Art, Dennis W. Dutzi Gallery
Website: N/A

Yaneli Delgado is a baccalaureate student at Cal State Long Beach. In addition, she is in the school of arts of printmaking. Yaneli has a bachelors in sociology and in Spanish from Cal State Santa Barbara and now she is trying to obtain a teacher credentials in art at Cal State Long Beach. She wants to be an art teacher at a high school because she loves helping and teaching kids. Also, she has a great passion in printmaking because she loves working with her hands.
In the piece of artwork of Yaneli named “Ni la tierra ni las mujeres somos Territorio de conquista” is a piece of artwork of global change in the Azteca culture. In this piece of artwork there is a women holding a baby , has cloth covering her mouth and she has her hand on top of the cloth that is covering her mouth.Yaneli Delgado used two colors only red and black. She only used those two colors because of the máchicas codes. The formal qualities that she used was line and color. If you look at the piece of artwork closely you can see how she she used lines to create detail.
Yaneli Delgado named her piece of artwork “ Ni la tierra ni las mujeres somos Territorio de conquista” which translates to “ Neither land nor women are territory on conquist” because she feels that we as womens should be heard that we aren’t no one’s territory. In this artwork she focuses on females, colonialism and capitalism. What inspired her to create this artwork were her Chicano/Azteca roots, the books that she has read, Los Angeles culture, and a famous writer Gloria Saldua. All these resources inspired her to create this artwork to help speak up for all women’s voices that we are no one’s territory.
When I saw Yaneli Delgado’s artwork it grabbed my attention because of the quote she had on it. I felt connected because I’m also a women that comes from Chicano roots. Especially I felt more connected when she started to explain the meaning that it had which made me agree that we women are no one’s territory and we need to let our voices be heard. Her ideas resonate with my ideas because coming from Chicano roots we know that many women from hispanic country go through situations were they feel that they are someone’s territory because they are scared to speak up and defend themselves that they are no one’s territory.

Instagram: siennabrowne
Sienna Browne is an undergraduate that is currently in her fourth year of the drawing and Painting BFA program at CSULB. Her intrest are art, helping people as a lifeguard and help students at a Church. Since when she was a young girl she had many family problems she discovered the healing properties of creativity by doing art. The ideas that her work explores are imagery, creatively with what she feels in the inside and emotions.
One of the artworks that grabbed my attention was “The Image of the Invisible God”. In this artwork when I saw it I right away new that it was saying something related to the world. It was full of color and it has a lot of different small dabs that create a bigger image at the same time. It also has a texture that was created with dabbing of the oil paint. When looking close at the painting since there is a lot if dabbing you need to pay close attention of what it’s forming.
The painting “The Image of the Invisible God” is about Jesus how he would look like in Colossians 1:15-20. While I was conversating with her she said that she started it she was scared but excited at the same time. What inspired her was her love to Jesus. She knew she wanted to paint something that meant the moment before something becomes in form. Also she said that she camouflage faces and eyes into her pieces to comment how Jesus love is everywhere but we can’t see it and is looking at everyone all in once.
This piece of artwork grabbed my attention right away because it looked colorful and beautiful. Not only that but after reading the name and conversating with Sienna I felt connected. I felt connected because I also feel really conected with Jesus and I have the same ideas that God is everywhere and is always taking care of all of us wherever we are. This made me feel more connected with this piece of artwork because its an art of Jesus Christ which is a really beautiful artwork and a perfect way to send the message that Gods love is everywhere.

D1- Finger Painting
Overall, I had an awesome experience finger painting an abstract painting. Even though in the beginning it was kind of difficult painting with my fingers, I still really enjoyed it because I got to feel the texture and the rhythm of the paint while I was painting. Making a painting with no subject was kind if confusing in the beginning because I didn’t know what to paint. Then at the end it was fun and distressing because I just started to paint random lines. Some differences between other painting are that this one is unique, I used my fingers not a brush and it’s not an image of something . Also, some similarities to other paintings are that there was some type of maeninng in the painting and there are a use of colorful paints.
