Cringetober day 11 - 5 + 1 things

A/N: this is my first kind of fic so et me know what you think :) Its a character study of Marinette through her hair colour

1 - The first time was temporary, as most things were at age 12. The bright green hair chalk matched her Halloween costume. It made her eyes appear more turquoise than their usual blue, too. Still, the colour just didn’t seem right, making her usual dark hair appear almost like seaweed. It was a fun idea though.

2 - The summer she turned 13, she bleached her hair. After all, Chloe had blonde hair and she was plenty popular. Rose too. Maybe if she did it she might have a chance at finally making friends next year. It didn’t really matter that she didn’t feel like herself every time she looked in the mirror.

3 - She didn’t put much thought into her appearance when first putting the earrings in, wanting only to save those in need. Still the red highlights helped her look more responsible and if they helped to disguise her identity under the mask that was always a plus. The colour might remind her of some of the more horrific things she had seen during akuma attacks but at least it was only temporary. That colour felt too much like responsibility these days anyway.

4 - She never expected to be wearing another miraculous, especially not this one. There were certain benefits to being the cat for a day, but it wasn’t nearly as familiar or comfortable. The black braid she had been gifted definitely looked good and gave a flair to her movements, but that colour wasn’t meant for her in the first place. At the end of the day she was all too glad to give back the ring and give up the black hair with it.

5 - When she went round Juleka’s for dye night, she wasn’t expecting to walk out with a new colour in her hair. The turquoise colour brought out the blue undertones in her hair and really helped her to feel like she had the start of a new beginning. However, she thought whilst listening to guitar melodies coming from the room next door, it didn’t feel quite like her own colour.

+1 - Lycee started tomorrow and she had a new confidence. A summer of fun and pure relaxation with friends really helped her to come into her own, along with her new outfit handmade by secret designer MDC and a new hair style to match. Her bright pink bangs and highlights were just the thing she needed to truly make a new start. Looking in the mirror, she finally felt like herself.
