How To Be An A&R And Put Yourself In The Heart Of The Music Industry
Upon first hearing the term "A&R", what springs to mind? You might automatically make the connection with the word "music industry" And you'd be absolutely right!Maybe you link it to the word "record label!" Again you'd be right! As through time, many people have worked at record labels as reps, including A&R’s.In this guide, we're going to take you through what exactly an A&R is, and what it means in today's digital age where pretty much everything has moved online! So let's find out...What is an A&R?
A&R stands for Artist and Repertoire
Traditionally an A&R is someone who acts as a scout for a record label, seeking out musicians, songwriters, singers, or bands whilst also being responsible for overseeing the artistic development of the individual(s).
Their main role is to be the communicator between the artist and the label. They help the music artist or band by leading them along the right path to success, through liaising and making the necessary connections that the artist or band needs to progress.
What does an A&R do?
A&R's are the facilitaors of the music world. And being one involves quite a range of tasks that requires the person to be very pro-active.The full scope of an A&R's responsibilities goes far beyond the recruitment aspect. They are essentially wholly responsible for developing and nurturing the artist or band; in the same way that a plant can bloom when taken care of...A music artist can too under the wing of a good A&R person!

How to decide on the music services you can offer – 3 ways to drive more traffic and increase your sales”
There has never been a better time to make a living in the music industry, than right now from your music services! The live music industry is having a tough time at the moment. Live venues and clubs are closed, but the internet offers endless possibilities for musicians, bands and associated professionals to explore brand new opportunities. In this post I’ll talk through how to decide on the music services you can supply and I will give you a bunch of tips on driving more traffic to your offers. Let’s dive right in.
What Music Services Can I Offer?
Well, to decide which music service or services you can offer, you should first start by making a list of the things you’re capable of. Do you have mixing or mastering skill, play an instrument, sing or can you do graphic design work? Write it all down. It helps do make things clear so that you can take action.Once you’re done with the list go through all your talents one-by-one and ask yourself: how can this skill help other people? Here are a few examples:Let’s say you’re a talented singer songwriter. The first thing that instantly comes into my mind is writing or recording toplines for producers, who aren’t singers themselves. You can also offer to write and record vocals to already existing instrumentals or just write songs (without recording them) for other singers, who aren’t that good with writing yet. Additionally, you can offer one-on-one singing lessons in person or virtually via Skype. As

Why you need to build a home studio during Covid19!
With over 20 million cases and counting worldwide, it's safe to say that COVID19 has had a substantial impact on every industry imaginable. This includes the recording industry. With new safety protocols in place, musicians everywhere have it rough.Whether you work in a professional capacity or not, there's no better time to build a home studio.
Why Build a Home Studio Now?
Why not? Several countries around the world are on lockdown or have some type of curfew in place to reduce the spread of COVID19. As a result, many of us are spending more time at home and less time out in the real world. If you've ever thought about setting up a home recording space in the past, there's no better time than now
Social Distancing at Its Finest
Social distancing guidelines make working in a professional studio out of the question. They're close and intimate settings. Even in large studios, staying six feet away isn't really practical. You can't social distance when you're crowded around a console or laying down tracks in a cramped booth. That's not even mentioning the issue with masks or the potential for bacteria to spread through microphones.
With your own home studio, you don't have to worry about any of that. It's your own personal space to create. If you're worried about how working alone will affect your creativity, don't fret! You can still collaborate with musicians remotely. Modern tech makes that easier than ever.
