every day i think about jesus and the samaritan woman at the well. she really said why are you bothering to speak to me? do i matter to someone? does god see people like me? and jesus really said i see you. i love you. god loves all the people you've been told god doesn't love. and honestly when i realized that i wanted to drop a water pot and run screaming about it into town too

Unfortunately I missed all of Saturday due to work and was bedridden today so I kinda zoned out through a lot of GC, but I did feel the Spirit which was really really nice
#the talk about how identifying labels should never impact how you treat others#and that the only label you should consider when dealing with others is ‘CHILD of God’ was really good#ldsconf#20 new temples! wow!#and once again thank you spooky season for keeping us from trending#i hope pres nelson is still around for next gc :(

Just thought of a new verse we could add to the primary song ‘I’ll Walk With You’ while browsing David Hayward comics....
“If you don’t love like some people do, those people withhold love from you, but I won’t! I won’t!”
First of all, David Hayward is brilliant!
Secondly, you caught the spirit of Carol Lynn Pearson who wrote that song’s lyrics. I think the meaning of your words matches the message she wanted us to learn. Love is always the answer. She wrote about including everyone, especially those who have special needs or are different in one way or another. She meant for this to include LGBTQ+ people.
She was married to a gay man, they ultimately divorced but remained friends and she nursed him in his final months as he died of AIDS. She watched the pain her LGBTQ LDS friends endured & knew it was wrong. She wrote a children's hymn about what Jesus would do. He'd walk🌈 He'd talk🤗 He'd love❤️
Carol is very happy with how the song has been embraced by the LGBTQ community. A Facebook group is called “I’ll Walk With You” and the words are used on posters carried in the Salt Lake City Pride Parade. The song was sung in two “LoveLoud” rock concerts in Utah by Dan Reynolds and Tyler Glenn.
Thirdly, last year she introduced a picture book based on the song, and wrote additional verses for it, including this one:
If you don’t love as some people do Some people think your love’s not true. But I won’t! I won’t! I’ll watch you share, I’ll see you care. That’s how I’ll show my love for you.
You can purchase at her store, or I’m sure it’s also available at other retail sites

Happy disability pride month to my fellow disabled mormons 💖 God loves you, wants to support you, and your disability is not some sort of moral failing or punishment for sin

The early Saints' attitude towards hell was so badass. Joseph with "If we go to hell we'll turn out the devil's and make a heaven of it" and Brigham with "I want to hear the bells [of hell] ring again." Where is that spine of steel today
That spine of steel is among the queer members, the disabled members, the PoC members, and all the members that the world are trying to eradicate. The amount of times I think to myself ‘fine - I’ll go to hell if that’s what happens to those who love boundlessly’ is… honestly staggering. I’ll hear the bells of hell ring over and over again as I go out and serve the samaritans around me, the rejects of society, and those deemed unfit to be in the houses of the lord by false judgements. And no power in Heaven or on Earth can stop me.

he thinks we should say "I know" more but I think we should say it less. We dont know shit, and we're not supposed to, because knowledge isn't the same as faith. We DON'T know that Jesus will save us. We DON'T know that we'll have our families eternally. We DON'T know that the church is "true." We hope for those things because they seem right to us.
No further comment, 12/10 analysis. Thank you.
#its ‘we believe all things we hope all things’ not ‘we know all things’#anyone else remember when a big part of church teaching was reminding us that we DONT know everything and never will in this life?

I had a bad brain episode and missed the Sunday afternoon session. Dunno when/if I’ll have the spoons to watch it. Anyone got any talks from it they recommend I read or any ones I should avoid?

I did like that talk about the importance of patriarchal blessings, and I really do hope people will not feel forced to get them as soon as possible and get them when they feel ready.
I thought I was ready for mine, and I wasn’t, and it’s caused a lot of strife in my journey to come to know my Heavenly Parents. I pray that everyone who listens to that talk and decides they want their blessing is able to have the faith, sense of self, peace, and the right patriarch to give them the blessing they need 💖
#ldsconf#i do need to ask my bishop if it’s alright to get a second blessing#my blessing was for the girl i thought i had to be#id like to have one that matches the freedom and peace ive found
