Howdy folks.
So I’ve been here doing wtnv rp since about 2012, which is a long time! And it’s always been nothing but fun! But over the last year or two, activity’s been drying up. Almost no one remains of the once-large community I spent so many years writing with, and while I see there are many new people joining us, I’ve been repeatedly running into the problem of plotting with new people and starting threads only to be left hanging for months at a time.
There are a handful of folk still around who I also write with elsewhere, but it’s because I write with them elsewhere that I’m considering archiving and deactivating all my rp blogs. I’m putting in more effort than I’m getting back, and it’s losing its fun. More and more I’m considering taking my OCs who I write here and giving them their own longform projects. I might set up a writeblr to keep y’all updated on what I’m working on, and if that’s the case, I’ll give you a chance to follow it before I disappear into the ether.  That said: I’m still willing to finish threads in progress, but I need to know you’re going to commit to doing that! Shoot me a message here, discord, anywhere we talk, and we’ll figure out what we want to wrap up and try to make that happen!

The kitchen was empty, but Millie and Iliana were sitting together in the living room. They both looked up when Tseth came out of Delia’s room, and Iliana asked, “How is she?”
“Okay for now,” Tseth said. “We’re gonna occupy the kitchen for a little bit if that’s okay?”
“Oh, um.” Millie looked to Iliana, then sighed and got to her feet. “I’ll go hide out in my room a bit.” Iliana watched her go, expression a little sad. “I’ll stay out of your way,” she told Tseth. “But let me know if you need anything.”

So RP Thread Tracker is shutting down. This is extremely sad.  First of all, if any of you use a different thread tracker, please please link me to it, I’m desperate.
Secondly, I have over 40 active threads across all my blogs. There is no possible way for me to keep track of them all on my own, so this is what’s happening: any thread that hasn’t moved in a year or more will be archived and dropped at the end of this week.
I know we’ve all been having a rough time of things and I’ve typically been happy to resurrect old threads, but there’s just too much y’all. If you want to keep such an old thread alive, either respond to it this week or send me a message about it!

The question caught Delia a little off guard, but the consideration he had in just asking filled her with a quiet warmth. She laughed silently and mouthed the word, ‘Nerd,’ before nodding.
“Bully,” he laughed as he leaned down to give her the kiss, then scooted out to scout out the kitchen.
The kitchen was empty, but Millie and Iliana were sitting together in the living room. They both looked up when Tseth came out of Delia’s room, and Iliana asked, “How is she?”

Delia nodded. Cooking always helped to lift her spirits. It wasn’t as therapeutic as hammering out a melody on a steelpan, but it was better than nothing by a long shot. Can you just make sure Millie’s not in the kitchen?
“Sure,” he said, scooting off the bed. “I’ll be right back. Forehead kiss?”
The question caught Delia a little off guard, but the consideration he had in just asking filled her with a quiet warmth. She laughed silently and mouthed the word, ‘Nerd,’ before nodding.

I wish I had a steelpan to hit right now. Delia wiped her eyes, thinking over the options, and suggested, You said something earlier about food?
“Oh yeah, I brought some stuff over to make bread and soup,” he said. “Wanna do that?”
Delia nodded. Cooking always helped to lift her spirits. It wasn’t as therapeutic as hammering out a melody on a steelpan, but it was better than nothing by a long shot. Can you just make sure Millie’s not in the kitchen?

“I can’t believe I’ve never had a hot toddy before,” Delia remarked, cradling her mug between her hands. It was never really cold in Night Vale, at least not while the sun was above the horizon, but there was still a crispness in the air that made her grateful for the mug’s warmth and the colorful scarf she’d stolen borrowed from one of her partners last time they were in town.
She took another sip of her drink, savoring it for a moment, then turned and smiled at Sam. “This was a great idea.”
Tumblr media
‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒  Sam    returned    the    smile    in    kind,    feeling  warmed  by  the  drink    &    the  company  alike.    Rare  as  a  cool  evening  was,    it  made  the  moment  all  the  sweeter,    made  them  better  savor  the  unusual  flavor  that  it  had    &    the  time  being  shared.    It  had  been  a  hell  of  a  trek  getting  to  this  point.    That,    too,    made  it  all  the  more  worthwhile.
❝  I’m  glad  you  agreed  to  it.    It’s  been  a  long  time  since  I’ve  had  one.    I’ve  been  wanting  to  hang  out  more,    as  well.  ❞
“I think that is a great idea.” Delia turned her mug back and forth and leaned back in her seat. There was a lot on her mind, and it showed just a little, in the crease of her brow as she breathed in the chill air. “I’ve been thinking about taking up dance, actually. If you’re game, I can’t think of anyone better to show me the ropes, sort of figure out where to start.”

“You’re the worst,” Iliana told her. “See you around?”
Penny grinned up at her from the rock. “Yeah, I’ll see you.” She checked around to make sure no one was watching as she stepped down. “And…thanks,” she added with a glance back up at Iliana’s window.
“Yeah, no problem.” Iliana watched Penny go for a moment before quietly sliding the window shut.
“Do you believe in love?” [Iliana, behindthemidnightsun]

Penny let out a long hum as she mulled over the question. It took her a minute, not surprising considering how much they’d been drinking, and she still wasn’t very confident in her answer.
“I dunno. I guess,” she decided with a shrug. “Hard to believe in something you’ve never seen though, you know?”

“Fuck off,” Iliana returned, laughing despite herself. “Go on, get out of here before we’re both in trouble.”
Penny laughed. “What, too soon?” she asked, finally slipping out the window.

Iliana glanced anxiously back at her door before looking back at Penny. “What?’
Penny offered her a crooked grin. “How about a kiss good-bye?” she teased.

“I’m also hungover, and the sun’s out,” Iliana grumbled. She backed away from the window to help Penny through it. “It looks clear. Try to be quiet.”
Penny rolled her eyes as she made her way to the way too bright window. “Fuck,” she mumbled, shoving open the window. She straddled the windowsill, glancing down at the convenient stepping stool of a rock below. “Wait,” she said, turning back to Iliana before she left.
Iliana glanced anxiously back at her door before looking back at Penny. “What?’

“Well, if I find anything you left, I’ll bring it for you next time,” Iliana promised. She tried once more to peer out the window, shading her eyes and squinting through the stabbing in her skull. “I think the coast is clear.”
“You think?” Penny repeated, laughing and making her way to the window. “You’re the one who doesn’t want to get in trouble.”

“Fuck, I don’t know.” Iliana turned away from the window to help Penny look. She eventually found the shoe under the bed, kicked halfway behind Iliana’s hockey bag. She fished it out, then sat up with a groan. “Okay, here. Is there anything else?”
Penny grabbed her shoe from Iliana and shoved it on her foot. “I’m–I don’t know,” she whispered hoarsely. “I barely remember getting here.”

Iliana stifled a groan and instead climbed over Penny to get out of the bed. “Hurry up,” she whispered, stumbling to the window to look outside and make sure the coast was clear. The morning sunlight was way too bright to get a good look, though, which only made her more antsy. “I don’t want to get in trouble!”
“Right, sorry…” Penny mumbled, finally rolling out of bed herself and trying to remember where her drunk self had left her things. “Where’s my other shoe?”
“Fuck, I don’t know.” Iliana turned away from the window to help Penny look. She eventually found the shoe under the bed, kicked halfway behind Iliana’s hockey bag. She fished it out, then sat up with a groan. “Okay, here. Is there anything else?”

Delia ignored Lee’s question in order to try to answer… whatever it was Maggie wanted to know. It didn’t take too long to hazard a guess, and she typed out her answer with shaking hands: “I got attacked a couple weeks ago, and Lee’s over there making jokes that are making my anxiety flare up. Not a great combination.”
Maggie frowned as she read Delia’s message, then turned a scowl across the room at Lee, carelessly preparing herself yet another drink. She still wasn’t totally sure what the story was—and she knew she’d never get it from Lee—but unlike some of the monsters in this apartment, she actually cared about people other than herself.
She nodded at Delia, then toward the door and signed, “Go, I’ll talk to her.”
Delia nodded, signed what she was pretty sure was, “Thank you,” and quickly fled the apartment without so much as a goodbye to Lee.

“Penny,” Iliana hissed, giving her a firmer shake. “My parents are awake!”
Penny cracked one eye open to look up at Iliana. Her anxiety was telling her to get up and get out of here before she got caught, but her hangover was making her body a little slow to catch up.
“Fuck…” she mumbled into her pillow.
Iliana stifled a groan and instead climbed over Penny to get out of the bed. “Hurry up,” she whispered, stumbling to the window to look outside and make sure the coast was clear.
