Hey guys! I'm Bee! I'm 16 and neurodivergent, and I post about ADHD, neurodiversity, autism, and the occasional random post about my current hyperfixation :)

This is NOT ok. please dont listen to this guys, you cannot "transition into having adhd". This is disgusting and disturbing. Reducing my condition to seeming distracted, stimming and being random invalidates mine and other adhders lived experience to a trivial quirky illness. Adhd is a DISABILITY for a reason. Please genuinely seek mental help if you think this is okay and appropriate.
As much as I am proud to be an adhder, it ruined my life in so many ways. It is nothing to laugh and joke about. Anyone who thinks this is some quirky illness that makes you a lil bit silly can get off the internet and touch grass. Not many things make me as angry as this kind of ignorance does. If you support any of this, you are not welcome on my page.
You CANNOT have "transADHD".
P.S. OP, if these are your adhd symptoms and nothing else, you probably don't have adhd.
TransADHD tips!!
• try to seem spaced out when you can!
• use common ADHD stims!: leg bouncing, cracking knuckles, cracking other joints, finger tapping!
• look at something you see out the corner of your eye often, ESPECIALLY if it moves!!
• say random thoughts sometimes! helps you seem less focused
Hope you all like these little tips from a cisADHD doggy!

Have you ever stopped and couldn't figure out how to get going again or tried to do something and its way harder than usual?
So. This coping skill is ELITE. A single solution to many problems. This will actually help you create your own coping skills. This was a game changer for me and it only has 3 steps.
1. Recognize whatever issue you're having in the moment might be due to whatever neurodivergency you have.
2. Find the 'stuck place' as I call it. (I've heard others call it 'stalling out')
3. Make your own brain hacks!
Step 1. Easier said than done, of course. Just the first step takes practice. But soon you'll start seeing a pattern. You're doing something and then suddenly you're not doing that thing and you don't know how to get started again. THATS where you think 'This might be related to my ADHD.' Once you can recognize that, you can move on to step two.
Step 2. The stuck place. Finding it is often simple once you've completed the first step. An example I saw on tiktok(I think? I'm not sure) was a person sitting in their towel, needing to shower, but just staring at the wall for a long time. This is the stuck place. Once you recognize its ADHD related, you ask 'where did my brain stop?' I was about to get in the shower and I can't and I'm not sure why. Here you can use enviromental context clues and routine context clues. In the example, the person had been getting music ready for the shower, but got 'stuck' trying to decide what music to listen to and then got distracted by notifications on their phone and forgot what they were doing. So they are sat in their towel, feeling like they can't shower and aren't sure why.
Step 3. Here is where you make your own brain hack. What can you do to move past the stuck place? Some answers for the example could be asking a friend to send you a playlist they think you'll like, or using a radio station instead of playlist, or using lowfi music instead of lyrical music. But out there in wild? You gotta practice finding your own brain hacks.

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

Reblog.
I love talking about this so here's another instance of me talking about it: during the 504 Sit-Ins, wherein disabled activists occupied federal buildings in 1977 demanding better protections from the US government as they delayed enacting the regulations set forth in 1973's Rehabilitation Act, specifically the section entitled 504, which was supposed to provide better access to education and employment for disabled people, and the accommodations needed for such.
The activists, disabled or sick in a variety of ways, occupied multiple federal buildings across the the USA. The occupation of 50 United Nations Plaza Federal Office Building in San Francisco lasted 26 days, the longest of the protests, and I believe the longest occupation of a federal building in the USA's history.
The protest was spear-headed and led mostly by disabled women, many of them queer disabled women.
The length of the occupation was only made possible by the support of the Black Panthers, who brought food to the activists daily and stood their ground against the FBI when the feds tried to stop them from entering the plaza in an attempt to starve the protesters out. The Black Panthers then proceeded to bring hot meals every day for the rest of the protest, which ended with the enactment of the 504 regulation
Moral of the story: mass movements and protests work better when you have solidarity among various movements who, while initially fighting for different people, are all fighting for a common goal--rights, safety, empowerment, etc--and the Black Panther Party was demonized by the federal government and individual authorities not only because they were they fighting for the rights, safety, and empowerment of Black people, but because they were fully capable of and did bring unity among the many civil rights groups fighting for the individual causes, in a way that would have enacted great change in this country had they not been infiltrated and destroyed from within, arrested on bs charges, or flat out murdered by the federal government.
Anyway the history of disabled rights are unknown even among the modern disabled, the involvement of the Black Panther Party is even less known, and without the 504 regulation laying down the base foundation we probably wouldn't have the ADA so here's your history lesson informing you about all this. And thank you Black Panthers ✊🏿♿✊

I ran out of essential oils for my diffuser…except one…oregano
I was sceptical at first. I thought it would be dumb. It came with a little pack of essential oils I got for my diffuser and I hadn’t touched it once. But…I was curious. I’m autistic and I have adhd. And the next thing I knew I had impulsively put it in the bowl and switched the power on. And…oh my goodness. My room smelt like pizza. I was sleeping in an Italian restaurant. I have no regrets.

Hey! So as an autistic I sometimes struggle to express my actual emotions, and my best friend has said that something like this would be helpful! I was wondering what your thoughts are? I’m thinking of turning this into pins with a little sliding scale!

Anyone else think you can’t hyper fixate on ADHD because you have ADHD?
As someone with ADHD who is currently fixated on ADHD, it’s honestly great doing research and learning so many things about myself. You absolutely can fixate on ADHD, and I encourage you to pursue it for however long it lasts :)
