there is a misconception about heaven and hell. souls, upon dying, are eaten by god, if they havent yet reached sainthood. sainted souls are still subject to being eaten, but are often strong enough at that point to evade god and his angels. saints can pick off souls still on earth and, if surviving long enough, will mature into angels. angels are not often eaten by god, but do have a habit of eating other angels, though their main diet consists of souls in stages beneath them. angels will mate with god to create new spawns of souls. most of these never make it to earth, but are consumed upon spawning. on rare occasions angels will eat god itself and replace god. the last instance of this happening in this area was an anomaly; two angels devoured god, causing a conflict of power. the colony divided into sects and waged war on each other. though many angels were lost, the two god-eaters remained unharmed. the battle ended with one sect driven out of the area, where the losing god-eater started a new colony. this second colony has a habit of preying on souls from the first, and also has evolved to sneak their young into the other colony to be raised there. some try to classify the first colony as heaven and the second colony as hell, but, simply put; heaven is living, while hell lies in a stomach.
