how do you even describe elzar. he hates politicians and politics yet he’s the chancellor’s right hand jedi. he doesn’t like wearing temple robes because the collars are itchy but doesn’t mind the heavy gilded gauntlets of the mission attire. if presented with a choice of drink he will pick the most expensive one every time. nobody can understand or replicate his force powers but he’s still a knight when all his friends are already marshals and masters. he knows how to repair a space station but doesn’t know one ship part from another. he sees zoos as prisons. he coins the term mind trick because he finds it more honest. he’s sensitive and romantic and kind but also the most annoying guy you will ever meet. he bulks at honorifics and official positions but doesn’t mind doing the actual job. he’s both the knight in shining armour and the maiden in a tower. he has ptsd. god talks to him and he talks back. his first words after his heart stops beating are a joke. he fought spaceships on a dragon

Avar Kriss drifted into their circle like the first day of spring, unexpected and welcome. She was fiercely talented and courageous, their whetstone - challenging them, sharpening them.

Elzar Mann was intense and clever and endlessly distracted. He too often found ways into and out of trouble.

Starry-eyed Stellan Gios was studious, steadfast, and gentle - Avar’s patience and Elzar’s safe harbor.

Do we want to talk about the implication of them seeing each other as both ONE and TWO with the Force??!?! If it doesn't scream dyad then I don't know what.

Also them referring to each other as tide and song, or bottomless sea and unending notes, always as a pair for the whole book is such a gorgeous detail that show how much their bond enhanced throught the story, till the point of becoming one during the fight with the Nameless.
