Callisto's green flag is that the moment he understood Penelope wasn't comfortable with the relationship - his first thought is to not create an ambiguous situation that would fuel more rumors about them two.

@an-angel-so-called-satan made a post about how and why she feels about VADD lately and I 100% stand whit the feeling, but with different reasons.
There's the same push as in 'the villainess is a marionette' for making almost every panel a very detailed work of art and it comes with a price. Personally I don't find the story dragging, instead the artwork stopped being diverse so it's just not registering if that makes sense.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
where the last panel should take your breath away, but it's just a little light in the background
The more simple art slyle that where present in the first two seasons gave SOUL the possibility to play with the characters more. There where more faces, angles and interactions. It was about how to draw the story. Now that time seems to be spent on drawing details and copy-pasting is just necessary to make it before the deadline.
I understand that more high quality panels means there are more merch that can be made, but the difference in the maze chapters and the birthday one (for example) is astounding if you pay attention. SOUL is not only a good artist, but an amazing storyteller and we have been robbed of it in the past seasons.
#honestly it looks like an otome game#which would be cool if it was the idea for the manhwa from the beginning#also with a simple art the core moments shone#now everything is monotone and basically a drawn tautology#villains are destined to die#death is the only ending for a villainess#death is the only ending for the villainess#vadd

🚨🚨🚨 CALLISTO CHANGED HIS OUTFIT AND IT'S NOT A DRILL
I hope it's not just a change of color scheme like Derrick's outfit, but something new like Winter
FFS EVEN DERRICK AND REYNOLD HAD OUTFIT CHANGES—AND IT’S NOT EVEN THEIR BIRTHDAY
If I don’t see Callisto wearing blue/black clothes to match the dress he gifted to Penelope I will cry blood.
Also Derrick in white is odd—he just is. Reynold looks like he’d actually be responsible for once and the Duke is the Duke. What do you want me to say, another man that doesn’t change his clothes, at least he’s serving ig😭
Like wdym it’s your own birthday and that’s not a occasion meaningful enough to get the bling on. To impress Penelope at least, since he’s a minimalist, and SPOILER: since he wants to propose—like wdym you want to propose to the woman you’re infatuated with but don’t even step up to dress accordingly
If he does end up wearing a white uniform that we saw in the past, you’ll hear me scream from all corners of the world, I’ll be seen on the news dragged away kicking and screaming—I WILL START A RIOT AAAAAA
I can excuse the white outfit only if it looks different from what we’ve seen up until this point. That’s the only condition. It needs to be like those typical ‘Crown Prince’ outfits that get everyone like “oh so that’s what a Crown Prince looks like” with multiple gold accessories and stuff, punch in the eye ‘I demand attention’ kind of fit.
We’re doomed I’ll prepare the bottles for everyone so we can drink our sorrows away 😔
#king of the last panel#death is the only ending for a villainess#villains are destined to die#death is the only ending for the villainess#vadd

It's also portraits their relationship!
Penelope accepted Reinold's attempts to make amends and be a good brother.
Vinter feelings are unrequited, but he still decides to stay behind Penelope.
Eckles will force his feelings onto Penelope even if she rejects him.
So we are waiting for the VADD covers with Callisto and Derrick and their colors!
#I'm putting bits she would hold Callisto's rose to her heart#someone didn't have a rose because he pretends he doesn't have one lol#unrelated but#probably could cry if we don't get a cover with Yvonne#villains are destined to die#death is the only ending for a villainess#death is the only ending for the villainess#vadd

Currently rereading the novel VADD and I realized that Siyeon hated og!Penelope as much as everybody else, it's just that she doesn't approve of the fisical abuse/killing.
In the first chapters there is the tree answers function and one of them was always to somehow endure the abuse or hide it from the duke/brothers. And we know that it's because she would end up being scolded or punished. Example: when fl eated the moldy food and the Duke called her for a shaming session, then Derrick was mad about the inconvenience of dealing with the personnel.
I personally think Siyeon subconsciously took the game as a way to avenge herself since the familys situations resonated. And with the excuse that Penelope is a "villain" the fl naturally went with what she wanted - the bad act options and skipped scenarios in which there was humiliation even if the plan was to survive till end game. Obviously, once transmigrated, she understood fast how bowing her head was sadly the right choice. And I'm curious if everybody really would have let the og be consistently this aggressive and shameless for years without serious repercussions.
Considering all that, you would think Siyeon would be the one who understands best and takes Penny's side after living it in first pov. Instead from the moment of the transmigration she constantly berates her, continuing with the villain shit. Like a good hypocrite fl blames the og for standing up for herself like she wished she could have and also for the instances when the abuse was taken in silence. The shift into victim blaming was painful to read.
And don't come on me that Penelope should have calmed down and used her "status" because Siyeon organized herself fast and without problems. Penelope wasn't coy to name herself as a duke's sons sister and lady of the duchy and time after time tried to establish a good relationship forgiving the abuse. It's either the curse cast on magicians or a plot hole and I'm defending that poor baby to the end. Stop with the narrative that there was a good and bad way to be a victim, there is not.
I'm honestly surprised how easy it was to overlook after a few times that the fl was sad after receiving the love Penny always longed for. Like it wasn't her who for chapters thought that the crazy adopted bitch deserved hate if it isn't "too much" just like everybody else.
#I probably would be eaten alive#but oh well#it's okay to like or dislike different characters#the main ones included#penelope eckart#death is the only ending for the villainess#death is the only ending for a villainess#villains are destined to die

Callisto is portrayed as a murderer who doesn't value human life, but there's nothing in his actions that proved this in the entire story imho. Killing those who are after his neck and making a big show of it, to dissuade others from repeating the feat, is the minimum the one targeted must do. And let's not forget the empress was spreading rumors for him to lose his place as a heir to the trone.
Then, if we look at the people who surround him all the time the picture is opposite. His aide without second thought yells at the Crown Prince for misconduct, knights try to stop him by force not fearing to lose the head. Callisto's whole personality is being an overgrown child who knows and uses his royal position. They are tired of his antics, not fearful lol
This prospective may help understand even better how freaked out he must have been by Penelope's actions.
Another thing that wasn't discussed in detail in the story is how when the sistem helped Penny during the hunting banquet there where traces of mana around her. Probably the same thing happens when she moves location upon accepting a quest. And Callisto as a Swordmaster is perceptive to mana. I don't know if it's over thinking, but it's surely wouldn't play in her favour either.
Callisto apology
Before I continue interacting in VADD fandom, I would like to share my opinion about Callisto and his controversial first interaction with Penelope:
Callisto did nothing wrong by pointing his sword at Penelope, he was protecting himself because he thought she was a threat.
What I do agree with is that he was a fucking jerk when after the confession he "played" for a while with Penelope and her responses… And I was also a jerk for laughing at that, feeling bad about Penelope's stress, but not regret laughing (Don't play innocent because I know someone else laughed at that too lmao)
So yes, I completely understand if Callisto's taunting bothered you, because he behaved annoyingly, but getting upset that he was on guard? I'm sorry, but I really don't understand that. I know there are people who don't like to see violence, but it makes sense to me that he would react that way. They literally sent him an assassin early on, why wouldn't he still be on alert after that?
The fact is always brushed off as he did it because he was blinded with rage, but then why have a conversation where it's clearly revealed that Callisto is on guard over Penelope's actions?
Penelope was waiting for Callisto, but he wasn't, so it does look suspicious to meet someone who seems to be looking for something or someone insistently (in the novel it was mentioned that Penelope was looking in all directions)
The story is told from the perspective of Penelope/Siyeon and therefore we empathize faster with her and I can understand that anger towards him for our overprotection that we have towards our protagonist, but! The empress sent an assassin to Callisto, he went to his brother's birthday party bringing the murderer's half-dead, he gave a threatening speech disguised as a birthday present and… immediately afterwards, he decapitated the assassin and threw his head at the feet of his brother while the witch empress almost fainted (see later in paragraph "1.") … All while Penelope was witness to it…
So we all know the story: she went after him like yolo, let's find the reset button or die trying. I perfectly understand her point and also the fact that she regrets it later, it's obvious that she's going to try to survive no matter what. But I need to emphasize this, because when she mentions that she "sincerely came to comfort him", we as readers knew that she was lying, but Callisto? I'm 100% sure he was thinking: I cut off someone's head in front of several nobles, and I'm the one who needs to be consoled?
This was why he didn't believe her confession of love, not only because she told him "I like you", but that consolation thing doesn't make sense (and Oh God I can't blame Penny because when you're desperate you make terrible and illogical excuses jksjskjs)
So yeah, I don't condemn the fact that Callisto defended himself, If I were in his position I would do the same, but he was definitely a bastard making Penelope fool.
1. In case you didn't read the first few chapters of the novel and just picked up where the manhwa left off, this happened and was censored in the manhwa:
“So why didn’t you choose a proper attendant, younger brother?”
That was the moment. Seureung----The prince drew his sword in an instant with his empty hand, and cut the assassin's head as he was holding it.
Cheak-! The blood started gushing out like a fountain.
"I'll replace this as a birthday present."
The prince threw the severed head at the feet of the second prince.
"Aaaagh!"
The empress' tearing screams echoed through the banquet hall. The head of a person rolling around like a ball.
The 2nd prince couldn't say anything with a pale face like someone about to pass out.
“If you want to receive another gift from me, send it as many times as you like.”

I didn't even dream that some questions about OG!Penelope would be solved before this news. After reading VADD I was left with the opinion that Penny was never a bad child, so I'm exited to know how wrong or right my assumptions will be
Gwon Gyeoeul-nim is working on a new webnovel!
I think this news will be liked by fans of the Real Penelope
Gwon Gyeoeul-nim is working on a new webnovel entitled "이물질은 나였다", that will be released on April 16. The author mentioned that this time she wanted to write a story about a main character like the real Penelope Eckhart, not like the transmigrated Penelope💗
I'm looking forward to read it!

This becomes even better if he did so subconsciously lol I'm loving it
Novel spoiler!
In the special chapters it was made known that Callisto ordered all men in the palace who had blond hair to dye it, including his assistant. But Cedric has dark hair from the first appearance that happened after the trial when the Crown Prince is still unconscious.
So... Is that an omission or the motherlover literally gived the order when he was dying from poison?
Just leaving the poor man here, appreciate his service more
