berserk fandom is insane bc i went into berserk expecting evil psychopath griffith displaying occasional dashes of homoerotic foe yay with the protagonist guts and instead i get the story of how griffith's divorce with his "only one among thousands" guts shatters him so badly it ends up causing the literal apocalypse. the fact that the fandom perpetuates this perception of griffith as a manipulative heartless monster who never actually cared about anyone is baffling

lol yeah ikwym, I felt the same when I re-read it after a 10 year gap after browing some fansites and tv tropes. I was like, sure I remember it being homoerotic, but I'm pretty sure Griffith caring more about Guts than his dream and destroying his own life because he left was just a subtle, maybe unintentional implication so it makes sense that a lot of fans don't pick up on it. Turns out Griffith had a whole monologue about it, in addition to about 50 other textual statements lol.

Berserk fandom is such a bizarre experience, where it really genuinely feels like those reddit type fans read something entirely different and just confused it with Berserk or something lol.

Yk the fact that Akutagawa is dead hasn't really sinked in my head yet... And we are already on chapter 93. Idk if its bc im in huge denial about it or because I just can't really see him die this early on in the story. I think that Akutagawa isn't going to really die, a part of me is hopeful. Since he turned into a vampire and all, theres still a small chance he can survive this one. I mean what was the point of molding Aku and Atsushi into the new Soukoku for one of them to die this easily?

A part of me doesn't want him dead because im biased and I love him so much but another part of me still doesn't accept Aku's death and tbh I think most of the fandom hasn't really accepted it yet and I think its because his death is written in a way that makes us doubt his passing.

I really hope that Akutagawa's character won't die here, he has so much potential for more character growth and development.

Finally took the time to read ch202 and, while the snakes' good nose will indeed be helpful to track Ginny right now (like they did to sniff out the werewolves in the Green Witch arc), I still think the fact they can "sense distant temperature changes" will be relevant when Snake learns that Doll is, in fact, a bizarre doll.

Especially considering that Wordsworth, the snake that's explaining all that in ch202, also is the snake that was picked up by Doll when she was first introduced in this arc...
