The characters, the plot, the "romance" ARG, ITS SO GOOD. Litteraly applauded. Wow 👏👏👏 im missed movies.

Im so glad it wasn't a movie about a stalker who kidnapped the girl he was obsessed with. The professionalism of the circumstances allowed me to ship with a guiltfree mind hhhhh but also im so glad they shot him.

I'm sorry for putting it off so long, I was so wrong to assume it would be a bland movie cause of the poster. It's was great ! I get the hype now. It's a 7.5/10 for me tho cause I felt like it was way too short and didn't have as much story as I wish it would have.

I liked the casting !!! So many fun characters played by familiar actors.

But yeah, I didn't really get attached to the romance but I do get that's it's not a romcom or even centered on the romance, it's more a very beautiful movie to watch. I like that I wasn't too much following the cliches and being overly dramatic. I think this movie's strength is how lovely the characters were. I really had so many favourites hhh

But it was a bit rushed or idk it felt a bit more surface level to what I'm used to.

I did cry like a baby seeing that godamn ring. LOVED the ending. Honeslty the best part. I wish it was longer TT

I really liked the covers, they really blended in well.

Why did I cry so much. This movie's strength is 100% how authentic it felt. 7/10

I don't think the romance was that good, but it wasn't bad. It was just realistic. I think my favorite character is definitely Sasha and I would rewatch mainly for her. I really loved her, and I kept screaming at the screen that she deserves better.

Anyways TT I was holding back so many times, the tears just kept appearing out of nowhere without any warning.

I wish it was longer, I wish Marcus was a better writer, I wish he also APPOLOGISED. I wish they show them missing each other and truly catching feeling for each other. I know Sasha loved him from the start but I literally did not pick up on that.

The only moment I saw hints at romantic feelings blooming was 2 sec before they had their first time, and I only saw it in Marcus eyes, but apparently it didn't mean what I thought it did. Like we still have no idea how he felt about her as kids. He said he considered the idea a few times, but does that mean he never fully had feelings for her until he realised 16 years later she was the only person who really knew him ??

I have to say tho, their 2nd kiss actually got me, cause u could tell why he kissed her. There was so much tension, it almost felt like they were screaming "Ur the only person who truly knows me, even more than myself". I wish they did more of that.

Mmm but I had a few icks too, but I'm not smart enough to remember or even be able to pinpoint why.

ARGH but Marcus was such a looser, Sasha really deserved better, I'm not mad at the ending, I'm just saying I was not rooting for him at the start hhhhh I wish for his future to continue towards growth and maturity like the ending suggests at.

I can finally move on 🤧 i found a new 10/10. I could list all i love about this movie but i would be wasting another hour instead of being a responsible uni student.

I love everything about this movie. My only complaint is it was too short and i want more. The pacing was good, i just want more of them TT

Is Disney Channel doing ok ?

Eh... are we sure this is a Dcom ? In what planet is r-14 a rating for mentioning sex ON DISNEY.

Idk why i got so hung up on that, ive seen other recent projects with this gen of Disney stars having crude language and i was fine. There's just smth so weird about it being branded as a Disney movie. I kinda felt ashamed, u know. Like how are u going to put this movie and teenbeach in the same category...

As for my enjoyment overall, this was such a Rollercoaster: 4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 4 - 5 - 4

So over all... 4.5/10 ?

It's not a good movie, but it's not disney channels' worse either. It's just... not Disney like. It's more like netflix for teens.

I think my favorite thing was that they really portrayed the friendship well. It was purely platonic and left no room for me to even see romantic potential. And that's hard to do when Milo is the one playing the bestie. Anyone would fall for his charm.

But the romance still felt really superficial, it never really felt deep to the point where halfway in, i still wasnt sure if they intended us to ship the besties together. Cuse thats the trope u know. So i guess they made a good decision subverting clichés but not that good of an execustion.

I did love the proposal at the end. It was well set up. But meh... those types of movies aren't really for me.

I won't rewatch or even remember it.

Also, the start was so unbearable that i had to watch in 2x speed. It's so... performative. I know we love quirky Mcs but like... dial down a little. I could have related with her sooooo much more if she was a little more chill about it. Cuse, she has so many fair points, and that's exactly how i thoight in high school. I skipped my prom too, so it was nice to see her ask her bestie out to prom to value the experience he wanted to have. As she connects with her love interest, she does become more chill and relatable, so i didn't hate her in the end. But at the start, i couldn't stand her.

OMG i loved the scene where the love intrest taught her a little basketball, it was well done.

Overall, i was confused cuse it wasnt what i was expecting, i got anoyed cuse it really felt like 2019 disney channel where all the caracthers are performative, and then i gmwas pleasently suprised cuse the romance wasnt that bad, they did a good job subverting expectation for that "prom" trope. But meh, Disney can do better with romance and we've seen them do it well.

I- dude. Why do they keep doing this to my girl TT im sorry but watching this movie was like rolling down a hill thats not even high to begin with... from a 6/10 to a 3.5/10 ☠️

Who even was that movie for TT im guessing 14 year old girls who like reading cliche books ? The writing was awful, i just kept getting dissapointed over and over again TT it was so cliche and so bland urgh i felt like i just read an AU fic written by a tween.

The only points im giving is cuse Laura could never do any wrong.

She's just effortlessly cute and adorable. The entire charm or the movie is on her. She's adorable, but the lines they gave her ARE SO CRINGE. WHY THE ITALIAN ACCENT. Plz TT plz give my girl the roles she deserves TT i haven't seen ONE movie use her skills appropriately. Dude, give her 3 dimensional characters TT why do you all keep casting her as a y/n bland cliche extroverted girl.

At least they gave her 2 songs and she did great as always. I just wish i could finally get a good romance movie staring her TT i know she produced that movie but idk what that means for her involvement in the plot. I just know the writing was awful and sad.

I'd recommend this to a tween, and only to a tween. It gives "disney princesse live action", and u know how i feel about those.

It was so cringe TT the prince is so cringe TT why and when did she even fall for him, he's so lost. He doesn't know who he is and has no quality apart from "he learns from his faults." He honestly feels like a bird following around and discovering life. Which is fine for a love interest, but... u need to give him time and space for him to actually grow. This happened way too fast. Does he have no individuality. I just have pitty for the guy, he's so "new born".

We love simps that admire the mc, but they still need to have individuality and their own life and pations away from her. He has no friends, no ambitions, no specific dream or goal. It's just "i wanna do the good thing for my people" WHAT IS THE GOOD THING. Now that u didn't have that arranged marriage, does that mean ur family is broke now ?? What are ur plans? Why does this just end with him coming to get her and them getting together. Now what ?? What is the fate of ur kingdom ?? Also, Laura's character just decided to finally take on the job she wanted in NY, so how is they relationship going to fit into this. See what i mean !! It's so farytale, no braincell, superficial and bland.

Also WHY DID U COME GET HER ON A HORSE. He's so cringe ur honor TT i can't TT im getting war flashbacks TT BLERG

Conclusions : im gonna write a movie just for Laura, and i deeply miss A&A's perfection (i literally just rewatched a month ago)

DAMN IT, how did it go from an almost 10/10 to 7.5/10. What is wrong with writers, why do they keep messing up endings. They set up the story so well just to completely dilude it with superficial lines and scenes that just dont hit emotionally as they should !!

Kinda dissapointed this went from a 7/10 to 5/10. It really had a lot of potential. Not the plot, i ment the actors, they had good casting and the esthetics and colors scream my style.

I went in not expecting much cuse i literally just chose it from the myflixer catalog, with no recommendations. Therefore, i was pleasantly surprised it was not absolute compost.

It's still not a good romance. But honorable mentions cuse it wasn't as cringe as it could have gone. They did a good job for a cliche white woman romance novel. The ending was just really disappointing. It started out so well. The ending is litteral trash.

My main issue :

They undersold the love intrest

Dude they casted him so well, he emanates "besties" vibes. But u guys do realise that for that type of love intrest to shine U STILL HAVE TO TREAT THEM AS A MAIN CARACTHER.

On my first watch, i thought the fault was on him and maybe he wasnt a charismatic actor. But rewatching his very few scenes, the fault is entirely on the director !!! Use the camera better !!! Center him !! Light him better, give us close ups and more individual shots just for him.

I know that the point was that she didnt see him as an option and she was focused on the 5 other love intrests but we all knew those guys wouldnt be endgame ( altho i was rooting a little for british boy, for selfish reasons. He sounds like tweksbury///)

But still... treat him like a main caracthers a little. He was off focus and off cadre most of the movie !!! I know he's a tiny boy but plz try to center the shots!!! Wtf was that TT

Also im sorry, there was a potential chemistry between them but idk it just didnt feel right in the end. Maybe casting them together wasnt a good choice. Or maybe the movie was way too fast and u didnt let the actors enought time to bond ( or even let the caracthers enought time to bond either). If you wanna do the friends to lovers trope MAKE THEM BESTIES not just friends who met a week ago. Homeboy was closer to her bestie than to her and they spoke less TT

Speaking of her bestie, she's my favorite caracther and im so happy to see her here TT omg girl !!! I knew this had to be you !!! Look at u ! From being a boy obsessed biker girl in disney's teen beach to a ride or die bestie that simp for her ex-gf TT

I think u can class with it every hyperfixation I've ever had since childhood.

Peter pan, spiderman, tinkerbell, ladybugs ( the insects but the show too i guess), planets, etc...

But they are interlinked.

It can't be only one category, romance is boring without good emotional drama. Nature is boring without ingenuity or emotion. It either has to be smart or make me cry (or both).

I feel like this is pretty universal... It is basicly just the human experience...
