Shout out to Gideon Nav, I've never been so motivated to exercise or been participating in exercise out of my own free. She died so I could have 1% less osteoporosis as an old lady

can’t wait to hear more about genderfail2 sounds beautiful
yeah it's basically like, I've been failing at cishetero gender since before I could walk, but once I knew I was trans I still felt trapped for so long trying to be the perfectly androgynous nonbinary person perfectly existing outside of the gender ecosystem that surrounds us, trying to perfectly thread the needle of being trans enough that I wasn't seen as cis while also not being TOO trans and getting interpreted as a binary transsexual. trying to be the right kind of nonbinary person that wasn't too much of one thing or another and also not too little. trying to hit a target that was always moving and shifting and changing so that nothing I could ever do would ever be enough for long
and you know what that shit is exausting and failure was inevitable. failure is inevitable. I don't want to be seen as perfectly nonbinary I want to get old in a body I love; I'm tired of folding myself into shapes for other people to see. Im hungry I want to eat the sun whole

I don't give a shit what you say. This is canon.
Ranking seashells by how much I think Nona likes to eat them:
10/10, simply perfect. The grooves create a nice texture and they are wonderfully bite-sized.
5/10, really crunchy with sharp edges but hard to fit into her mouth without Camilla noticing.
6/10, fun snack, but they're usually too big and she prefers to imagine her life as a snail when she looks at them.
0/10, absolutely not. Tastes too much like food.
-10/10, chipped her teeth on one once and gave Camilla a scare. Her teeth healed but she didn't like the look of shock on Cam's face and avoids them now.
7/10, they are so smooth, which makes them a little boring. Still, good shape.
8/10, interesting texture. Ever since Pyrrha mentioned pearl oysters, she expects a pearl in closed shells. (Nona has no idea what an oyster looks like)
10/10, a delicious mix. Stuffs a handful into her mouth when Cam isn't looking.

believing in everything (and knowing nothing at all) by @lesbianjesuslovesyou
A series of childhood memories from the Ninth.
I love this fic, it makes me ACHE for baby Gideon, and I love its exploration of Gideon's dynamics with the other characters on the Ninth as she was growing up :') this is the second fic I bound for @renegadeguild's Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day event!
Fandom: The Locked Tomb
Pairing: Aiglamene & Gideon, Gideon & Crux, Gideon & Harrow
Title font: Supernova
Body font: Garamond
Pages: 200
Size: Quarto letter
Case: Pleather book cloth (Generic amazon brand) with sword shaped cut out and hand-embossed gold foil
Endpapers: Skull Natural Copper by HimalDesign
progress pics and ramblings below the cut!
I was SO excited to try a cutout cover for this, and think the endpapers I picked were perfect for it. The Pleather "bookcloth" I used was a bit thick, and that in combination with the shape of the cut out made for some very goofy progress pics. I ended up gluing scrap paper to the tiny flaps, because they were SO at parts.
Also, there were definitely several places that were like... exposed chipboard/paper, so I used a marker to color it in to hide those issues and it worked great
I initially formatted the cover incorrectly and my printer was out of commission at the time so I couldn't re-print it, so I just cut it up to frankenstien it into what I needed! I'm REALLY happy with how the sword cutout ended up lining up with the skull -- you can see in the above photos that they aren't identical, and this is because I did not think about this at all when cutting and gluing the endpaper in. OOPS!! anyway HOORAY luck was looking out for me bc it ended up looking great anyway!
The color of the cover was honestly hard to photograph but I love how it turned out and how it looked IRL. YAYY
