Announcing our commitment-free creative activity: The Stages of a Star!

Hello everyone! Long time no see!

It's an exciting time in the Sonic Supernova event server – our participants have been assigned their teams and are beginning the creation period which will last until December this year.

December is a while away and we've been thinking: why not have something for people outside of the event to do? Something lightweight – no deadlines, no pressure – and encourages the spirit of fandom activity that we're aiming to foster with Sonic Supernova.

With that in mind, we'd like to announce our monthly prompt event: The Stages of a Star!

Supernovae are one of the final life stages a star reaches and we'd like some build-up before we reach that stage – the unleashing of a Supernova – in December!

Here's how it works:

Each month, we will announce a theme and release a word cloud related to said theme

You can take any word(s) from the word cloud you want as prompt(s) for a Sonic-related fan work of any medium!

Post your fan work under #sonic supernova and a mention to our social media

We will reblog your works on our Tumblr!

As for what kind of fan work you can create, it can be anything! A fanart of a Super form of a Sonic character or OC, a fic of any length using the prompts, music/remix, crochet, cosplay, what have you! Nothing is too big or too small for us to celebrate it at Sonic Supernova—the sky's the limit! Speaking of skies…

Have you seen one of these dipshits? If you post regularly on ao3, chances are YES, but more likely you didn't notice nor suspect it was a bot. Sometimes they start off nice, or even praise you before getting nasty out of nowhere, like so:

I don't know where they come from, or what purpose this could possibly serve other than suicidebaiting random people in the internet, I guess; but apparently they've started parroting names from real users to send these comments and shifting their general length to go by undetected. Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.
