I have been a bystander to bullying and it's helped me open my eyes to how much goes on in our community and helped me realize what I can do to help.

What do you think we should do to prevent bullying in schools?
to prevent bullying in school we should all be aware of how we act towards one another and how we speak to each other. teachers and administrators should be aware and take bullying situations seriously.

Did you stand by and watch or did you stand up for the victim?
Often we are bystanders to bullying. Choosing to not get involved and being a bystander to bullying can be worse then bullying the person. When you witness bullying and do not say something, you are telling the bully what they are doing is okay. Bullying can occur in person or even on the internet.
My experience: I have seen bullying on the internet many times. On social media accounts, I’ve seen someone posting a snapchat about a girl who has a limp in her walk. This disability makes her an easy target to bullying. After watching the 10 seconds disappear, I was heart broken to think someone was so mean to publicize this girls visible disability like that. On the other hand, I did not reply back to the person and let them know what they did was mean. I was a bystander to bullying. In that moment I did not stand up for the victim and supported the bully. Have you stood up to a bully or been a bystander?

You are a warrior. You’ve been up against battle after battle; each challenging in its own way. Yet, you’re still standing. You’re still alive, and stronger than ever. You’ve got this.

What is bullying...
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.
