                                     SHE  REMEMBERS  MEETING  HIM.               he  was  so  excited  !                she  could  smell  it  on  him  --------------------------  so  of  course  she  had  to  try  &  get  his  attention  at  this  LOUD  PLACE.                    so  she  barks  &  jumps  to  try  &  get  him  to  look  at  her  ;  tail  wagging  as  hard  as  it  can.

                                     it  all  started  the  same.                       there  were  NOISES  he  couldn’t  quite  understand.                       but  it  was  always  so  WARM  ;  &  his  mother’s  tongue  was always  so  nice.                          he  had  brothers  &  sisters  to  wrestle  with.          but  then  there  were  people  who  would  come  by  &  hold  him.                    they’d  scratch  his  head  &  call  him  sweet  words  he  didn’t  know  --  but  they  SOUNDED  nice  so  surely  they  were  nice.                  but  there  was  always  one  human  that  was  the  nicest  ;  MARY  is  what  people  kept  calling  her.                   she  would  smile  &  his  tag  would  wag  without  his  control  !                          he  licks  her  face  &  BARKS  with  his  tongue  hanging  out  to  the  side.                  she  came  to  visit  so  often  --  they  talked  about  how  old  he  was  ;  still  a  puppy  but  grown  enough  to  leave  his  mother.
