“I have a few, if not, Evans might be able to whip something up for you.” Benjy frowned, turning around to raid his cupboard before pulling out a thin, green vial. “Try this -- it may make you a little loopy though, just to warn you.” Handing it to them, Benjy chewed on his bottom lip. “I know he will, but if you need any help, I’m here for you, yeah? Also, that’s true. Fine, I guess I’m your own personal medic,” He teased with a smile.

“You can say that again,” Marlene chuckled aloud, louder than intended as they extended their arm out further. “So,” Marlene began, a hint of sadness coating their voice as they spat out a clearly made up tale. “I was just letting my inner Spider-Man out, scaling Big Ben in hopes to plaster a huge poster of James’ missing up there, you know REALLY get that message out, but those dudes in the funky hats are a lot tougher than they look, who knew the things they can do with those things still intact.” Marlene continued, chewing on their bottom lip. “It was a nasty fall, glad I feel on that prickly bush, though otherwise, who knows what kind of clean up you’d be doing right now.” 

Benjy studied their arm for a brief moment, before wiping it with anaesthetic, “Well, I can heal this with a spell fairly easily, but I wouldn’t put much strain on it for a while.” As he listened to their clearly fake story, Benjy felt himself frown. “Still no sign of him then? Also, I would definitely not be doing clean up. You know they actually have mediwitches and actual healers for this? I am quite literally only a vet.”

“This is so exciting! So, I got my hands on a Muggle newspaper the other day, and look at this!” She thrust the paper into Benjy’s face, the grin on her face bright. “Their pictures don’t move! And I also found this! It’s called…a flo–floppy disk, I think? It goes inside a…computer, I think? The clerk at the store looked at me all weird, but whatever! What do you think?”

“Have you not seen a muggle newspaper before?” An amused smile stretched across his features, cocking his head to the side slightly. “You know I’m a half blood right? If you wanted muggle things, I can fairly easily acquire them for you.” Looking at the second object, Benjy nodded, “It is a floppy disk and it does go inside a computer. I think I’ll have to take you into muggle london next time, you’ll get less odd glances,”

“Uh, I’d hide your valuables if I were you, Bowie likes shiny things,” Benjy grimaced as he quickly scooped the niffler back in his arms. “He was getting restless at home and hid in my bag. Sorry, I wouldn’t have brought him otherwise.”

Benjy sat nursing his firewhiskey, eyes narrowed as he tried to block out the surroundings of the loud pub. After a quick check of his watch, Benjy let out a sigh, jumping to his feet. He’d originally been waiting for a date one of his friend’s had set him up with but alas, he’d been stood up. Turning to leave the pub, Benjy knocked the woman next to him. “Shit! Sorry, fuck, my bad.”

“Bloody hell,” The words slipped from Benjy’s lips without warning as he glanced at the other. “And pray tell, how exactly did you injure yourself this time?” Cocking one eyebrow, Ben retrieved his first aid kit and wand - while he predominantly cured animals, for some reason Marlene decided he was their personal doctor.

name; benjamin (benjy) fenwick age; 27 prounouns; he/him occupation; wizard vet

okay so meet benjy

born an only child and with his mother (who was a witch) dying in childbirth, it was just benjy and his dad (who was a muggle)

so they went to live with his gran

they weren’t exactly super wealthy and they barely scraped by at times, his dad working two jobs so he was pretty much raised by his gran

obviously they were muggles and ben was not, and while his father was aware of his magic he had no idea how to help his son when he had magic outbursts

benjy was ecstatic to be going to hogwarts when his letter came, excited to be with others like him

sadly, when he went there, due to the lack of money, he could only afford second hand supplies, which weren’t in the best of states causing some older students to mock and tease the boy (esp cause he was a halfblood)

due to this the boy became pretty reserved, not really knowing how to socialise as he’d only ever really talked to his gran, so he was also pretty awkward

despite this he found two really good friends that managed to get past his awkward bubble and to see the sarcastic yet sweet boy he was (wcs, preferably same age?? but not fussy)

he LOVED care of magical creatures, most of the time he found it easier to be with animals rather than humans

during his summers when he was slightly older he’d work to help out his dad

he struggled in some of his other classes, needing a tutor to pass (WC)

but he passed, and after graduating he moved in with one of his friends (wc) to relieve some of the pressure from his dad, so he only had to work one job now

he became a wizard vet, eventually opening his own practice up about two years ago

he also joined the order at some point, as he firmly believes in their values
