My thoughts on Sterek

Can someone please explain sterek to me? I've seen a few posts like this but it's still the most popular ship of the fandom so I felt like I should comment on it too.

Why do ppl ship it? After the first season or two they pretty much never have any scenes together, so where did they pull this ship from anyway? Stiles is a minor in literally every episode except for season 6b, where they only have one episode together, so that doesn't seem like enough content to make up for the fact that the ship is literally pedophilia? I saw someone say that Derek was 19 in the original pilot script but the writers changed the timeline, so can someone please give me proof of that? I believe it, just want to know when it was first changed to make Derek older. Also, in the pilot Stiles said the fire that killed the Hale family was about 10 years before the present, but then in s3 we see young Derek about Scott's age and the fire hasn't happened, making Derek (if Stiles was correct) 10 years older than them. Some more proof that Derek was always way too old for Stiles is that Kate was in a relationship (sexually) with him, and then burned his family, as said in the first season, and that happening before Derek was a teenager is possible, yeah, but I feel like the writers would have made that a bit clearer if it was the case. Somebody please argue with me in the comments, I want to know what I'm missing here

P.S. If that wasn't bad enough, I saw a poll where the two highest Stiles OTPs were Sterek and Stiles x Peter, so please tell me that that's a joke bc I'm gonna have a conniption
