letting out a small chuckle- or rather, a held breath- rin shifted their weight backwards and raised a hand passively- strange and unfamiliar. 

“i’ve had my room booked at the hano grand resort before you ever hit the news, darling” a short, shrill laugh was accompanied by an forceful snort from her companion, “though, I will say some catching up is definitely in order. your league might be closed, but we can keep this one off the books~”

“take the hint, hun, i’m done for the day.” she has little interest in defending her title against them, her smile fading into a deadpan stare. “hano grand? not worth the money. it may be luxurious, but the service is horrible and most of the staff is super stuck-up. then again, i think you’d fit in perfectly there.” sick burns.

the chill of the mountain was one thing, but this cold reception was another being entirely. a proud smirk splayed onto their face- matched by the glower of a beast whose fangs were just as familiar. stepping into the pathway to face the champion head on, a coy string of words slipped past chapped lips across the frosty distance-

-”b e e n  a w h i l e, hasn’t it? heard you were making a name for yourself, and decided it would be a fitting return… though, i didn’t think you would be waiting at the  g a t e s.”

“ya say that as if i wanna see you.” initial shock at the sight of her old ‘friend’ fades, replaced by disdain so concentrated it might as well be venom. her hands twitch once, then still. she’s not even shivering, despite her lack of a coat. the girl’s spite fuels her. “if y’wanna battle, m’afraid you’ll have to wait. league’s closed.” warm brown eyes turned icy begin to close, and she... smiles?

“i c’n getcha a room at the akala motel, though! unless ya booked one already. how’ve you been, doll?”

escaping the crowds who want, demand her attention is a struggle sometimes, but she does achieve it. silence is a blessing, one she does not dare take for granted, and proxy often finds herself wandering mount lanakila’s snowy crags in her search for quiet. of course, she’ll run into the occasional trainer, but those who come here usually aren’t quite prepared for a battle with the champion outside of the league, and neither is she...

❥A sheepish smile formed on her lips, arching a brow at the girl. She definitely did not see that one coming. She cleared her throat, hand reaching up to run through her brunette locks.

‘ My name’s Alina.. Thanks. ‘ Her reply was said simply, distastefully. It’s not like she wasn’t into the whole flirting scene, she just preferred to be the one in control. After a second of hesitation, she decided to play along. Her unamused expression began to uplift, a grin adorning her freckled features.

‘ What’s yours, babe ?? ‘ The last word was emphasized, almost teasingly.

“heheh. pretty name for a pretty lady.” she tones the flirtatious inflection down a bit, making it sound more like a genuine compliment. she isn’t one to press when it comes to flirting-- if someone displays discomfort, she stops. at the teasing words and grin, an ever so faint dusting of pink reaches her cheeks. “oh, uh, my name’s roxanne.” a slight trip over her words. “but you can call me the girl of your dreams~! okay that was pretty bad.”

“aw, c’mon... i was only jokin’. i appreciate the sentiment, though!” even if she doesn’t agree. ever-present bat rests loosely in her right hand’s grip. she’s not here to threaten. she’s here to kick back and have a little fun before duty inevitably calls once again. “i can certainly say the same fer you. what’s yer name, babe?” and apparently her definition of fun is picking up a cute girl.
