To get your JD you have to go to an accredited law school which will cover all your base level subjects and here that means: obligations, matrimonial regimes, con law, fed civ pro, con crim pro, crim evidence, fed evidence, civil procedure, property law, torts, crim law and legal writing classes and argument, and biz org and probably a few I forgot.

To be allowed to practice, you also have to apply for admission to the local bar, pass a test showing baseline competency and an ethics test too.

I have practiced in a lot of areas including insurance defense, criminal defense and a short stint in family and estate law but currently I’m what you would probably classify as international law.

But no, I don’t know what you mean by that at all. And it’s called Obligations where I am not contracts.
