Rey, Relationships, and Daisy Ridley

IF that interview is real, I would like everyone to take this into consideration:

Ever since The Force Awakens released in late 2015, Daisy has consistently been asked to quantify Rey’s importance as a character in relation to those MALE characters around her. Is she Luke’s daughter, is she Obi Wan’s? Maybe she’s a Palpatine!

And now that the question of “Who’s her father?” Has been answered, it’s happening all over again. Only this time it’s the question of who the first female Jedi in a main series Star Wars movie will make out with. She has shot down nearly every ship that has been presented to her because she’s tired of seeing a landmark character be reduced to the product of MEN for other MEN to fight over and for.

I empathize heavily. I love Reylo and the Reylo fandom, but as someone who is predominantly here for Rey and not Kylo, I understand that frustration. The focus always seems to be on the men around Rey and never Rey herself.

Even if this interview IS fake, take this into consideration; Rey is important too; no matter who her father is or who she’s kissing.
