“Nah. It’s this…” she gestured at his whole face in general. “Just you look like the kinda guy who breaks hearts and makes men and women alike want to punch your lights out. Or kiss you. It’s a vibe.” Jaz smirked a little his way and pulled a large book from under the counter. “You do not work for Miss Rosa without knowing your flower lore. The lady has standards.” Her head moved in a nod once. “Gardenias are very nice. I’d say pink and pale yellow ones.”

          Luke continued to laugh at Jaz’s candor, enjoying how blunt she was. “I’m takin’ that as a compliment. All of it,” he told her with a smirk as he got out of her way, not wanting to get hit with a book. “As any good boss should. At least in this sort of business. It’s an art, I’m sure.” He peered down at the book before glancing at Jaz and then back down. “I trust you. Sounds like it would be nice. Girl kinda seems like a pink sorta lady, but I’m not sure. She’s a redhead. Not sure if that helps?”

Sabrina’s arm wound around Luke’s waist and she cuddled to his side. Good enough for now. She wanted to cuddle. Even if he was about to laugh at her for her nicknaming him. 

“You may be not such a shit man then?” she said, pressing her nose to his shoulder. Maybe sniffing the flannel a bit because it smelled nice and like him. “Ah. For the green or for the harder stuff? Because I’ve got two different girls and a guy. Edibles girl. Green girl. And a guy that sells just about anything else. He once asked me if I wanted to lick a toad… I did not. But he keeps me going when I’m working a double at the club. But the edibles girl…” Sabrina jumped up and ran inside, coming back a few moments later with a brownie that she offered half to him. “We’re about to be extremely high, I hope you know. Like, we might want to get comfy.”

          He welcomed her action, letting her use him as a teddy bear as she saw fit, the weed in his system keeping his mind slow and unthinking overall. “I try. Mama raised me well enough. Taught me to be a good man, to ladies anyway.” Luke shrugged again, chuckling. “Green, but---” And then she was gone a moment, leaving him there stunned, head turning slowly toward the door before she appeared again.

“Sweet jesus,” he chuckled loudly, taking the brownie, biting a bit of the corner off. “Sounds fine to me. If I like it, I’ll ask about the edibles girl too.” His eyes stared down at the brownie, his fingers picking at it. “I could probably get whatever from my dickhead cousin, but I wouldn’t wanna give him the satisfaction--- Or business.” Nibbling more, he glanced at Sabrina and smirked. “Wanna lay in the back of my truck and stare at the stars? I love doin’ that when I’m high as shit.”
