Oh, he absolutely catches her expression. He's sure he could piece together just what she was planning without her telling him, but it's certainly much more fun to hear her explain it. Lily's really got a way with words. An eloquent one? No. But certainly a way. He raises an eyebrow at her, struggling to laugh as she goes more and more in depth about this scheme.
"There's nothing that says explicitly that we can't steal a room to host a live ranking of how hypothetically well punting a child would work out." He agrees, mirroring her grin. "It's live entertainment if anything. We're putting on a show!"
Felix brings a hand up, sweeping it out in front of him and across the crowd. It's wildly dramatic and he is just barely managing to keep his laughter contained. His face is warm with the effort.
"We are live, here with your dazzling host Lily. Oh, and her boyfriend is here as well." And despite himself, despite this theatrical bit he's coaxed himself into, calling himself her boyfriend still manages that warmth on his face to rise even further.
(slips and or slides in here. hi bread. i am launching felix full force at lilys location.)
Fucking....... finally. Good God, how long can it reasonably take to find one person in this accursed place? It's all white! Lily has black hair! She should stand out perfectly fine. And yet it took Felix what is probably a very unreasonable amount of time to actually find her.
He strides up to her, all faux-gusto. "I thought I recognized that glare of yours."
Despite that, a smirk can't quite manage to mask how his eyes soften.
Lily’s previously annoyed scowl fades as her eyes light up upon seeing Felix. She doesn’t bother to suppress her excitement upon seeing Felix, knowing damn well no one was paying attention to them. Her glare must of scared people off.
“Heya nerd, I was starting to think you chickened out” she teased, closing the distance between them and linking her arm around his. “There, now you won’t get lost” she playfully bumped into him. “I know might be like 100 Lily’s here but I’m pretty sure I can kick all their asses.”
#silly tier list would be a very funny thing for the gala i think#this is true.#What you sow I reap [Felix]#my funny tag.

Oh hey I should probably work up a quick pinned, huh?
This is Basil @basilpaste's hub for all things Kindergala (2024). For an explanation better than I could ever give about what the Kindergala is, exactly, click here!
This is an rp focused blog! No strict tagging system, though there are muse tags for your filtering pleasure.
Muse List:
Felix "Lex" Huxley - Teen Punk AU. Associated tag: What you sow I reap [Felix]
A senior in high school, Felix has flipped his persona on its head. Cutting class, getting into fights, and generally causing trouble for himself and others: Felix's cold and corporate demeanor has become much hotter to the touch. He's itching for something to prove and fathers to fail, it makes him reckless and quick to anger. Though he seems to have quite the soft spot for a certain someone. Or maybe two soft spots, really. Over the years his relationship with his twin has improved drastically. It's nothing perfect, but it's nothing like what it was.
Theodore "Theo" Huxley - Teen Punk AU. Associated tag: What you reap I sow [Theo]
A senior in high school, Theo has grown into himself. Friendly and reliable, his desire for recognition has blossomed into a love of gardening and theatre. He can still be a bit of a pushover, but just like his younger years he's fully capable of standing up for himself. Despite still being regarded as second best by his family, he knows that he's got people in his corner. He's always cared about his brother, but nowadays those feelings are much more mutual. And while there are still moments where bitterness rises, he knows now that he has nothing to prove.

❤️Theodore "Theo" Huxley is now open for interactions!
Alright, Theo. Go through it one more time. Phone? Check. Wallet? Check — if he needs it, he's not sure that he will but it's smart to be prepared. Keys? He doesn't need his keys, Felix should have his keys. He puts his keys in his pocket anyways.
What else, what else…
OH! Oh. Mask. He almost forgot about the mask. He scoops up his mask and carefully places it on his face. It's a little bit big and feels kind of weird on his nose, but it looks nice! It works well with his outfit and frankly, Theo thinks he looks rather spiffy all dressed up like this. He looks at himself in the mirror. Definitely spiffy.
What a lucky find his trousers were! And thrifting them made him feel good. It was always nice to use his own money to buy something — especially when that something was clearly well loved by someone before him. It makes him feel a bit more normal, he supposes. Like he's rightly part of something!
Right, he's ready to go. Now all that's left is to… get there. Wherever there is, exactly. The directions don't, ah, exactly make sense? But Felix had, apparently, made it there safe? So he was probably going to be fine. Theoretically. So long as he doesn't get himself turned around. And the thought of getting turned around certainly doesn't make him nervous. Not at all.
His (not!!!) worry turns out to be misplaced, though! He finds his way to the gala remarkably easily, in fact! Though... if you asked him, he's not sure he could explain what exactly he did to get there? He just manages it.
And now that he's here, it's really nothing like he was expecting. Calling it outside of reality didn't quite prepare him for the fact that it was... nothing. A white space that seemed to stretch on for forever even despite the fact that there were rooms. Which meant there should have been an end, right? Walls? It makes some sort of sense, maybe, if this really is what the invitation said it was.
Theo looks out at the sea of bodies. Some of the people here seem to be about his age. Some are a bit younger. Some are... much younger. He flinches at the sight of a face that looks much like his own, coated in blood. Kids with haunted looks in their eyes, just barely disguised under extravagant masks. He inhales, shaking off memories he'd gotten really good at handling. Because he's nearly an adult and can take care of himself.
His eyes finally catch on a familiar mask and he finds himself letting out a relieved sigh. He was more than a little bit worried that he'd have a hard time finding anyone he knew. It's not too full here, but there are enough people around that he's sure he'd end up dizzy if he tried to search for too terribly long.
"Lex!" Theo calls, making his way through the crowd and to his twin, "You look great!!!"
"And you," Felix retaliates, folding his arms over his chest, "Look like you ran your head under a humidifier. Honestly, Teddy, you've got to take better care of your hair."
He huffs, smoothing out his blouse. Not everyone had hair as good as Felix's! Especially not him! Theo's not exactly certain how it works out that way, but his hair has always been much frizzier than his brother's. He's tried just about everything under the sun to get it to lay straight, but it balloons up whenever he so much as looks at it wrong!
"It was better when I left." He defends weakly.
Felix raises an eyebrow. "Right."
"It was!!!"
"I believe you." He says, making absolutely no indication that he believes Theo even a little bit.
From one of the many pockets in his outfit, Felix produces a comb. Theo groans, but begrudgingly leans forward so he can whack at his hair with it. With a cup of cold water and a much too expensive comb, Felix makes quick work of the glorified ball of lint sitting on top of his head.
Jeez... you'd think he'd care less about appearance after all this time. But no, as rough around the edges as Lex likes to come off, he always makes sure he looks good. How much of that is to keep dirt from staining his clothes and blood from drying on his scalp, Theo won't ever know for sure. But his impression on people still obviously matters to him a lot — even if he's going for a different one now. And that presentation tends to still extend to Theo.
It's — maybe just a little — frustrating. Sometimes. A bit. But he can't be too annoyed because every time he gets a touch up from his brother, he does end up looking better. So when he turns his phone camera on to get a look at himself and his hair is smoother than it's been in weeks: he can't help but be as envious as he is grateful.
"Thanks, Lex." He says, deflating a bit.
Felix either doesn't notice or he pretends he doesn't (it's kind of hard to tell what he's thinking sometimes), and nods once, folding the comb and returning it to his pocket labyrinth.
"Not a problem." He responds, flicking his hand free of water. His nails are painted and he's wearing fingerless gloves, but none of that hides the bruises on his knuckles.
Theo flexes his own fingers. His hands cling to stains from gardening that no amount of washing can quite get rid of. His fingertips are calloused. But... his nails are clean. They aren't painted because he doesn't have blood dried under them to hide. His hands don't hurt to ball into fists for punches he'll never quite have it in him to throw.
"Well!" He claps his hands together, "I'm sure you've got things to do. Lilys to cling to, I won't keep you!"
And he revels, maybe just a bit, in the way that Felix lights up like a Christmas tree at the implication. He sputters, trying to find the words to defend himself, and quickly devolves into embarrassed muttering. Theo laughs and it does nothing to ease his brother's bashfulness, but it does wonders to brighten his own mood.
When Felix eventually rights himself, it's by covering his face with his hands for a long moment. He glares daggers at Theo, but there's no true fire behind it. Not anymore. "I do not cling to her."
"Sure you don't."
"I don't!" He barks out, voice just a bit shrill. "And even if I did, which I absolutely do not, I think I'd be well in my right to! We're dating. It's only natural."
"Mhm."
"Teddy." He pleads.
Theo grins, drinking it in, "Yeah, Lex?"
"Urgh. Just... take care, why don't you? Go do whatever it is that you do at parties."
"I will!"
Theo admits that he doesn't have a lot of experience with fancy parties like this, but it's fun to tease Felix about it and this feels like the best escalation of that. Or... it does until he catches something juuuuust as he starts to walk away.
"Before I go, you should probably know that you've got lipstick on your teeth."
And he walks away before he has a chance to respond.

Felix laughs, unreasonably charmed. There's something cunning in Lily's expression, sharp and bright despite her playful attitude. Her intelligence certainly is one of the many (many, many) things he likes about her. Even when she's using that brain of hers to rationalize a betting pool for a children's fighting ring.
He squeezes her hand back, nodding thoughtfully.
"Punt the Runt?" He offers, "There would need to be judges, someone impartial enough to listen to all of the reasoning without bias. I'd offer myself up for the job but, well, I'm not sure I'd be swayed against voting for any of the little Felixes running around."
This is a delightfully stupid and pointless bit. They'd probably both get thrown out if they acted on it. In his opinion, this makes it better. A tier list ranking child puntability.
"If no one else is raving at the idea of this, it's their loss." He tells her, "This is a million dollar idea, Lily. We'll be rich. A gameshow for the ages, surely."
(slips and or slides in here. hi bread. i am launching felix full force at lilys location.)

Felix nods vaguely. He's not really considered removing his mask, even. They masks are... very novel. A second layer of removal from all the people who might otherwise be just a bit too close for comfort.
"It's a decent enough mask." He says, maybe just a bit flippant.
It's... perhaps the most formal thing Kidd is wearing, really. He's in a relatively simple looking cloak, after all, and, well... the tie doesn't exactly dress it up any.
Eugh. He has no idea what else to say. He scarcely talks to people his own age when it's not to get a rise out of them, he's absolutely hopeless at talking to children. Despite his sort of harsh tone, he's falling back on corporate speak. Which... is not better. Frankly at all.
((ooc notes: yaayy kindergala interaction for teen!punk Felix! also I'll be using the isat style for actions/thoughts that stuff! ALSO ALSO he sees everything/everything in monochrome))
(You don't know why exactly you agreed to come to whatever this gala was, but you did know you desperately needed a break. This seemed like something you needed. You readjusted the mask on your face, but unfortunately you probably weren't thinking much when you went along with wearing a mask.. because you're just now discovering how hard it is to see with this thing on.)
(You couldn't see very clearly where you were going and.. accidentally bump into someone. Oops.)
(( @timegarten-au ))
Felix's priority number one is as follows: find Lily.
........ Ooooor not. Because someone bumps into him relatively quickly. He's not exactly sure what he's expecting, he towers over most of the other attendees and isn't exactly making an effort to look down.
Though he's certainly not expecting the exact sort of kid he bumps into. It's... Kidd. Obviously. But certainly not like Felix has ever seen him. He should have expected that, too. That's parr for the course, right? Doesn't mean he has to play nice or anything. He has no knowledge of any of these people.
He glances down at the near stranger.
"... Can I help you?"
#YOURE ALL GOOD. im. (checks my watch) about a full day late so really no worries.#i think this is a solid place to bookend this interaction though? unless youre keen to keep going!

Oh. They're taking off their masks? He... supposes that's fair, it's not as if this event calls itself a masquerade. Just a gala. The masks really seemed to be more of a formality than anything.
And there it is. Names he recognizes and people he doesn't quite. Not technically a new feeling, now, but a strange one all the same. It is, at least, a comfort that not everyone here is a literal child. So far, the only other person he knew would be around his age was Lily. And perhaps his brother if he decides to show.
"Good to meet you all." Felix says, though his voice stays relatively flat.
... He really should be making a better effort. In a swift motion, he unties the mask from around his face, catching it gently in his awaiting palm.
He leans back, not meeting any one person's eyes. "As for my name: Felix."
( @ozzyandfriends : gala interaction with TeenPunk!Felix )
———
“Do you think there’s anyone here around our age?” Ozzy asks, adjusting his mask.
“I’m not sure.. Hey! What about him?” Ron points towards TeenPunk!Felix, and walks over to him in a jiffy.
“Hey there! How old are you?” He asks, very boldly. Ozzy and Madison giving each other a “can you believe this guy?” look.
———
(it’s wriitng for now but i’ll probably switch to art later on ahbdhajdb 👉👈)
Felix blinks. How......... bold. He supposes its a better opener than stilted niceties, if nothing else. He's sure he could hazard a guess as to who this, and the two trailing behind him, is, but he frankly doesn't care that much? And in this sort of setting, he doesn't feel the need to.
"I've got no reason to tell you that." He says bluntly.
But a little voice in his head reminds him that he promised to play nice. No point starting any unnecessary trouble. No matter how much he dislikes the extravagant production of a gala nowadays.
He sighs, folding his hands over his chest. "But, ah... I'm seventeen."
#'were 17' 'no were not.' is really making me giggle.#im debating adding the teddy from this au we shall see. no hes not nearly as popular. but theo teenpunk au you will always be famous to me

Ah. He... knows that look.
As much as he'd love to keep up the levity, 'funny' was not how a rational person would describe Felix Huxley. Truth be told? As much as he tried to ignore it... there were parts of this sea of strangers that made him uneasy.
Many of the people here are very young. As in... kindergarten aged. And certainly he didn't have it nearly as bad as some of the people he knows (Lily included), but he still remembers. Spiders and near misses. Things pushed too far.
He pulls his arm up from where Lily's got them linked at the elbow, taking her hand in his. It's such an inane action, so very mild, but there's still just enough weight to it that it warms his cheeks.
He hums, getting back on board with the lighter tone, "I never really interacted much with Applegate. Wouldn't surprise me, though."
"A baby sized fighting ring." He muses, using his free hand to gesture. "Teeny Boppers. No, no, too on the nose."

Felix laughs, sharp but overwhelmingly fond. He bumps her right back, rolling his eyes. It's deeply childish. He doesn't care even a little bit. Lily's skirt brushes softly against his leg, fabric on fabric. He'd known what she was going to wear, for the most part. They'd coordinated some. But it was very different from seeing the full ensemble.
She looks great, because of course she does she always does, and he's quite sure he's not looking so bad himself. It's a rarity for either of them to really dress up, these days. He can appreciate when she looks nice.
But, that aside, he has a reputation to uphold!
"I don't doubt it!" He tells her. She could kick all of their asses. No mercy. "But there's a strict 'no violence' rule. Can't possibly imagine why they'd need something like that."
He leans in, whispering conspiratorially, "I heard it's to keep any punks from running around and causing a scene."

... Was that a pun?
Felix isn't exactly sure what he was expecting from Kidd, but it certainly wasn't wordplay. He lets himself think back on the joke a few times. That — certainly was.
And if it were in just about any other scenario, this probably wouldn't have gotten him. But the circumstances were just absurd enough that it catches him off guard. Before he can catch himself, he lets out an ugly snort of laughter, nose wrinkling under his mask.
It's not even particularly funny! But it's one way to break the tension! And perhaps he's just a bit embarrassed that a joke like that got a reaction out of him, but he's quick to recompose himself, rolling his eyes almost violently.
"Right." He huffs out. "I'm sure limiting your peripheral vision even more than wearing an eyepatch does wonders for your sight."
That at least explains why Kidd had bumped into him. As much as he'd like to be able to hold a grudge... given the circumstances, he really can't.

Felix tries to act surprised, but Teddy always was the better actor wasn't he? It ends up looking much more like a grimace. Which he quickly straightens out back into something flat. If he had just a bit less self esteem, perhaps he'd be embarrassed — but in the meantime he can't exactly bring himself to care about first impressions.
"Well, Kidd," he starts, taking a sweeping glance at the space around them. "I don't suppose there's many other things that would be happening here."
'Here' being... nowhere. A vast and incandescent void, currently occupied by the same people repeating. Some his age, most far younger, all dressed in grandiose little costumes with masks that do nothing to hide their identities.
It, if nothing else, beats monotony. Days nearly blurring together for how alike they all feel, a house far too big for the only two people truly living in it. Even blood, caked under his painted knuckles, feels just about as mundane as a lecture. A grand party with almost-strangers is an interesting change of pace.
Despite this, he does keep hoping he'll glance Lily out of the corner of his eye. No dice, so it seems.
"Unless everyone here has somehow ended up in the wrong place, this certainly should be the gala, yes."
((ooc notes: yaayy kindergala interaction for teen!punk Felix! also I'll be using the isat style for actions/thoughts that stuff! ALSO ALSO he sees everything/everything in monochrome))

... Very different indeed. Felix is nearing adulthood so he doesn't suppose his memory of being in kindergarten is... particularly good, but this Kidd seems to be about that age? And the Kidd he knew, both then and now, seems to have very little issue with making a scene.
In which case: it's odd. This whole thing is, of course. Faces that are familiar but not the same. He should count his blessings that he hasn't been forced to encounter the Cindy he knows. He's not sure what sort of restraint he'd have if he did!
Ah. But there was that pesky no violence rule, and if nothing else he'd at least like to speak with Lily before getting kicked out.
It seems as if he's gotten lost in his thoughts. His mouth still pressed in a slight frown, he gets a better look at the Kidd in front of him. The hat, the cloak, it's all very foreign. Not to mention... is that an eyepatch? It was no wonder that he couldn't see.
"Right." Felix says, perhaps a bit too flat. "I imagine it would."
And then, because he's not sure he's recognizable at all amongst the field of children, "Felix."
