Chamonix. Exquisite!" Cool fresh air, clear skies. Nothing to complain about here! Up on europes highest gondola next morning all the way to the top...3800 metres. We both got a little light headed on exertion but totally worth it. Never seen anything like it. An amazing natural phenomenon...glaciers and all.

Ah, beee u ti full Montreaux!
Many memories for Mister Farri of playing the Montreaux pop festival in 86. Lovely to now listen to his amazing stories that I just didn’t appreciate when he told them over the phone 29 years ago!(whilst I was at home dealing with babies!!! not bitter any more!)
Off the scale for natural beauty and add to that the superb Swiss sense of style and 1stworld sensibility, our 2 nights are excessively comfortable and indulgent.
Many hours walking the waterfront, blissing out on the water and mountain views.
Twinge of guilt mixed in with happiness & gratitude that I am here and enjoying this.
One of those places where you find yourself checking out the Real Estate windows and dreaming.

Half Way
And so here we are.. standing at the halfway mark of this wonderful trip. The bloody inner voice that, after reading 'The Hobbit' at 8 years of age, has constantly nagged me to move my feet to new places so my eyes, ears and nose can experience new things, has finally begun to quiet. To say I'm grateful is an utter understatement. We have hardly wasted a moment and the pics I put up are barely the tip of the iceberg to what we have lived and experienced. Hugely varied in our choices of destinations we've been from the Arctic circle to the beaches of Cinque Terra to the alps of Switzerland and France. Travel for me is so very brain expanding, soul feeding and heart filling. Again, I am immensely grateful for the health, finances and desire to do this. I love my life, my husband, my children, my family and friends and our big beautiful planet!!

Road trippin out from Cortona through the rolling countryside past castles, lakes, pencil pines( ++ ), enjoying a rustic Tuscan meal in Montepulciano and swimming in thermal Roman baths of San Casciano dei Bagni. Pretty bloody amazing world this is!!!

Cortona.... a must do if you haven't Just a huge, beautiful movie set. Set up high on a mountain so all the streets are steep and winding and at every turn an incredible vista. Many many photos.....my iPhone was groaning. Just have to share a few.

Easter Sunday ......... Firenze style! Impressive procession of flag throwers, drummers and brass band in Piazza Republica then later 'The exploding of the Cart' in Piazza Duomo . Costumes incredible, colorful an dramatic With thousands of people crammed into the square, we all waited expectantly for the ancient, somewhat Monti Pythonesque 5 meter high cart do its thing. As it suddenly jumped into life with rockets firing high into the air, deafening explosive sounds and copious smoke,my thoughts, more than once, imagined the worst. I wondered as I looked at the faces claustrophobicly close to me if they were thinking the same. Got on with enjoying it and we got some great video footage! Was a weekend of touching the incredible history and customs of this beautiful place with a rounding out in the evening at a play about the Medici family in a lovely little chapel. Happy!!😌😌 (If you get a chance look up footage of the Firenze Easter Exploding cart. A liittle bit funny😏, no disrespect)
