Sooooooo I just updated my pinned post for my blog with Yume’s canon story changes, which includes major changes to the ships.

Introducing…

That’s right! Yume x G’raha is now the endgame ship! Out with the OT3 of Cid/Yume/Raha and in with the new story! So what happens with Cid, you may ask? Well here it goes…

Yume gets together with Cid at the end of 2.0, just like before, and Cid is still her first love. BUT when Yume meets G’raha during the investigation of the Crystal Tower, she begins to have feelings for him, but she never expresses these feelings until it’s too late and G’raha seals himself away in the Tower.

Cid suspects Yume is hiding her feelings as she seems to be deep in mourning over never seeing G’raha again, but they continue their relationship as normal.

Fast forward to SB and Cid proposes to Yume, which she accepts, but soon when she hears the Exarch’s voice calling out to her, she begins to recognize it as G’raha’s voice. This is all but confirmed to her when she sees him in her vision and when he tells her to go to the Crystal Tower.

Yume is highly conflicted at this point, because she thought that she loved Cid, and she does, but she’s not IN LOVE with him, if you get my meaning. Her heart has yearned for G’raha this whole time, and she tells Cid that she has to follow his voice. Cid tells her that he will be waiting for her when she gets back.

After the events of 5.0, Yume goes back to Cid on the Source and tells him that she can’t marry him because her heart belongs to another, G’raha Tia, regardless if he could never be with her in the Source or not. Cid is heartbroken, but he has secretly suspected this for a long time, and he respects her wishes. Yume then goes back to the First to confess her feelings to G’raha, and they are officially together afterwards. Unless something drastic changes in EW, Yume and G’raha get married and have Hikari after 6.0.

So there you have it. Yume x Cid are then the past relationship, and Yume x G’raha is now the flagship of Yume’s story! I just couldn’t put my finger on why I was not feeling the OT3, and I realized that Yume x G’raha have such amazing chemistry when I write for them, and I still wanted Yume x Cid to be in Yume’s canon, so this was the result. Oh, and Mirai still exists, but she’s from an alternate timeline where G’raha dies and Yume and Cid reconcile, get married, and have Mirai.

Mehna's head leaned back against the tree. "Ever since the Scions returned so a few months now. My feelings for her started long before that then."

A small smile graced her features. "Given how similar we are in personality, it's amazing that we work so well together. We are both reckless but I think I've mellowed out after all we've gone through. Alisaie, however, remains strong-willed and reckless."

A small chuckle left her lips. "But aye, she is my everything."

"Do you sleep in any strange places," Mehna asked as she tuned her harp. She sat next to her fellow Adventurer and Miqo'te.

"I often sleep on a tree branch but the last time I did so, Alisaie scared me and I fell off. I think Y'Shtola said I had a concussion," she mused before lifting her harp up to study irn

“A concussion? How high up did you fall from?” Kien inwardly flinched at the thought of falling from such a height. “Let me guess, Alisaie was trying to innocently scare you but didn’t realize that sleeping on branches takes a bit of concentration?” He chucked lightly as he sat up to stretch. He had been dozing off quietly while Mehna tuned her harp—the warmth of the sun and the shade of the tree making the perfect setting for a nap, but the Miqo’te’s question broke him from his stupor. “I’m glad it was nothing worse than a concussion but it makes you think twice before sleeping on a tree branch again, doesn’t it?” He glanced at his fellow adventurer with a shrug.

“As for me, the strangest place I’ve fallen asleep at is the rooftop, I think.” He paused, his mouth tugging up into a small amused smile. “Although, Raha swears he’s woken me up multiple times while on my feet, so I suppose there are stranger places.” The Miqo’te leaned against the tree again, pulling out his lute to play along with her.
