Something Big is Happening
It’s been a while since we’ve used WordPress. But now here’s the deal: We’ll be launching a brand new podcast on Anchor called the Barbwire Sports Podcast. It’s going to happen every time we do stuff like this. We’ll challenge the bad takes like Home Turf Sports does on a regular basis, but this time, we’re doing it like every day, unless we get tired. Here’s an example: Some idiot on YouTube…

A Message From The Editor
You know, it’s been a while since I posted on here since I been on different sites for lots of years, but from here on out, I will be contributing to this site that I started in 2012 going forward. I haven’t been writing for a while since I relocated to Amityville and you can call it what you want, burned out, tired, but I haven’t been much active as a wrestling writer, but things will be…

The Year Of LAX? Remember the old Latin American Xchange with Konnan and Homicide? The group that were believed held back because of their ethnic background?

The World Of Wrestling React To Donald Trump Becoming President Of The United States
The World Of Wrestling React To Donald Trump Becoming President Of The United States
It’s official. Donald Trump is now elected President of the United States. Now is the time to reorganize the Democratic party and focus on not just the midterms, but also the 2020 election. This is by far the most embarrassing night for Democrats looking to get a majority in the the Senate only to have Republicans continue to control it, along with the House of Representatives. Democrats need to…

A Message From The Editor-In-Chief
March 28, 2012. That was the date that The Barbwire Blog brand was born. And in three different platforms in a span of four years, it was always about building the platform to accommodate the wrestling fans. With over 230 likes on Facebook and over 1,500 followers on Twitter which features a who’s who of wrestlers, promotions, podcasters, fans and many more I say it’s growing by the day. 2012…

Stephanie McMahon's putdown of Teddy Long sure didn't impress a lot of people... And made them switch to other programming.

UNSAFE AND UNCOOL: MY TAKE ON BACKYARD WRESTLING By Matthew Hollie
A lot of promotions have people who know what they are doing and then there are plenty of backyard promotions that have people doing things that is totally unsafe. Backyard wrestling is more than just illegal, it's unsafe, irresponsible and uncool. A lot of backyard wrestling promotions have guys that have trained from schools and had some in ring experience, but some of them prefer the yard because they don't like the backstage politics of most wrestling promotions in the area or the hypocrisy that follows it. I don't support it, and I never will. It's dangerous, it's irresponsible, and someone might get seriously injured or possibly get themselves killed eventually. If you want to learn wrestling the right way, they should go a reputable wrestling school where they can learn from REAL wrestlers who have a great background in the sport. Guys like Brian Myers, Mikey Whipwreck, Robert Thompson, Dory Funk Jr. and Afa the Wild Samoan are teachers you can learn from because they have EXPERIENCE. If you want to to learn what it is like to be a wrestler, then attend a seminar with some of wrestling's best like Allison Danger, LuFisto, Saraya Knight, Hernandez, Cheerleader Melissa, and Caleb Konley. They are people who have been around the world throughout their career and they never started their careers in the backyard. Just because a promoter uses backyarders to sell tickets because they are greedy bastards, it doesn't mean they too are not ruining the business. It's not fair to the real wrestlers who get trained properly to have to work with unsafe workers who don't have the experience to be in the ring. It's also not fair that they have to protect the backyard wrestlers, meanwhile they can't trust you for nothing. That is why I want nothing to do with backyard wrestling. If I was running a promotion, I'd hire talent that have been to wrestling schools, not the backyard.

A Message From The Editor In Chief
In the past two years, The Barbwire Blog has been a WordPress site that targets the average wrestling fan with columns, interviews and of course the Indy Power Rankings polls. But now that fully changes as starting next month, The Barbwire Blog will be exclusive to Facebook to attract lots of wrestling fans from here on out. The opportunity to build the brand couldn’t happen at a better time, and…
