This is gonna sound silly and fake but Tiktok on auto-scroll has actually been fantastic for my physical productivity.

I recently started at a job where most of my duties are cooking and cleaning. My hands are busy but there's not much to think about and my ears are free. I also have my iPad with me at work, and it has a case that can prop it up. So, it's an upright screen that's big and loud enough to watch from a distance, but small and light enough to carry around with one hand and move frequently, and the auto-scroll function makes it hands free. So, I ended up getting in the habit of just letting Tiktok run while I work so I have enough stimulation to keep my ADHD brain happy.

This is a full-time job, so when the evening or the weekend rolls around, I'm tired and I don't want to do anything. But, I have found, that if I get up and set up my iPad like I do at work, it puts me in work mode and suddenly it's easy to do the dishes and fold the laundry. So I can keep up with all my responsibilities at home as well. Really weird game changer for me.

Self care and gentle parenting are two buzzwords sets that really really suffer from misinterpretation. Like how self care is literally making sure your physical and emotional needs are met, but so many people think it means to indulge to make yourself happy in the short term. And how gentle parenting is a focus on developing emotional intelligence from an early age, but so many people think it means you aren’t allowed to discipline your kids. They receive so much criticism from people who don’t even know what they are.

I was stuck in job hunting hell for a while but I finally got my hands on a decent full time job that I'm starting soon and I'm really hoping it'll help pull my out of the mud and I'll be able to work on creative stuff again. It has just been impossible to get myself to animate and I've barely built in Minecraft.

Being just a little overweight is weird because you'll tell someone you're overweight and they'll roll their eyes and correct you. "You're not fat." Like yes, I know. I didn't say I was fat. I said I'm overweight. My BMI is not in a healthy range and even if you can't really see it, a bunch of my clothes don't fit anymore.
