Straightening up at the man's comment, tightly clutching her poppet, Bettina's initial shock at being addressed quickly turned to annoyance. As though he were the one being rude for such. 

Tilting her head to give him a wary, sidelong gaze, Bettina replied, "No, I dont. You just looked like someone I know." Her gaze fell from his shoulder-length blond hair to his clothes, and she frowned disapprovingly. "You dress like him too," she added.

Is there a fashion trend that Bettina particularly dislikes?

Casual clothes and straight-laced fashion. Khakis, polos, sweater-vests, suits and ties--uniforms for the most part. 

Comfort and practicality are things Bettina only understands in the most abstract of ways when it comes to clothes people wear, and she frankly wishes more people got a bit more fun with their styles. 

The absence of frills, lace, odd, disruptive patterns bore her, which is part of the reason she goes out of her way to volunteer herself to sprucing others up in the first place (of course, she is also genuinely at a loss for other means of socializing with others).

In all seriousness, Bettina feels most at-ease with most species of ghost and fairy types than anything else: specifically those than lean towards the fairly-benign-but-mischievous ends rather than outright malicious (think klefki and gengar vs hatterine and other banette). So basically it’s less about what types and more that some types tend to have high representations of certain tendencies amongst their species that Bettina finds more comfortable to be around. 

That said, Bettina still tends to be wary around all other pokemon besides her shuppet friend, at least while she’s operating with her substitute.

Bettina initial wariness at the obstagoon’s approach gives way to thinly-veiled contempt, arms wrapping around her poppet tightly enough that the head very well might pop off. What she wouldn’t give to wipe that stupid smile off his face. Casting quick looks around for any possible eavesdroppers, Bettina completely drops the pretense. Speaking pokemon-to-pokemon, she replies, (“because I’m not doing this for you,”) with a sneer.

“I really appreciate you having the courage to tell me that. I’ll lay off of that perfume from now on and try something more subtle.”

Bettina doesn’t feel proud of the exchange, but she’s not wracked with guilt either. The response is definitely off-putting though. Maybe that’s part of the point too?

“Uh, okay,” Bettina says more casually than her insults, and changing the subject a bit, she asks, “...how successful are you with this in general?”

“Yes, I could show you.” She nods, pulling a few medical instruments from her bag. The basics: stethoscope, scalpels, and all sorts of little knickknacks.

“Although, I can’t exactly use them right now since I have no patients.”

Bettina eyes the tools, keeping her hands firmly on her knees as Tuppet hovers overhead, as curious as she was but not daring to get any closer himself lest he get the same tongue-lashing his sister just received. They aren’t as interesting as Bettina initially assumed when she looked them all over while they were just sitting there, and the woman implied that that’s really all they’d be doing with any of those. Most of them were just weird little knives, bottles, or needles anyway--nothing outstanding. Certainly nothing explosive-looking or the like. 

The stethoscope piques her interest, however, as does...

With a small laugh, Bettina points to the opened suture kit, saying, “I guess even nurses have to mend clothes when they’re on the road!” having mistaken it for a sewing kit. A dull one but still.
