thinking about the character a lot today. call it pondering my blorb

this was going to be a post about the sweethearts love languages but then i ended up on a tangent (which is below)

falmouth most definitely has trauma from being a soldier but he doesn't know why he feels so scared when loud sudden noises happen. or when people have snuck up on him. no-ones explained it to him. and lukas and ashen have noticed these things but as falmouth has never bought it up, they haven't talked about it with him either. falmouth doesn't know that he should be talking about this with other people he just thinks its normal.

but they eventually learn, lukas and ashen (and ellorie but she just sorta noticed they were doing this so she started) begin to warn falmouth of any potential loud noises, threats or people who they see. falmouth feels lighter in a way, knowing he can trust these people to the best of his ability.

lukas still finds himself doing that whenever he meets falmouth post wish cause he cant not help one of his friends.

back thinking about Derek and Titch’s hair. Derek is sososo neurodivergent to me and he fidgets with his hands a LOT. everyone thinks he’s nervous all the time because of it.

when they first met, Derek was fidgety. Titch asked if he was nervous and Derek said no. and Titch believed him! people barely ever believe him.

fast forward to when they knew each other a bit better. Derek played with Titch’s hair a lot even before they were dating. it started out simple; they’d just sat down for lunch after working all day, and Titch’s hair was terribly messy. Derek reached over while they were talking and patted down his hair.

it got more and more frequent from there. Derek would run his fingers through Titch’s hair idly when he was standing behind him. Titch let Derek to tie his ponytail before work, with the excuse that “it looked nicer when he did it.” if the other assistants noticed them doing things that seemed just a bit intimate for a boss and his employee, they didn’t say (not a single person who knew them was surprised when they got together).

now that i’m thinking about it, their “one time” probably started with Derek playing with Titch’s hair

whenever either of them starts ranting about something to the other, Derek starts playing with Titch’s hair to soothe both of them. now i’m just imagining Titch sitting down and like gesturing really animatedly and being all grumpy about like. farming discourse. and Derek just standing behind him nodding and carding his fingers through his hair
